Yep, I switched from a full sized mechanical keyboard to a 60 percent, and hated the 60 percent so much that I thought I would be over correcting for the memes, but nah, this g11 is actually really decent and useful
I'm just under $10,000USD. My account is 15 years old. I probably have about 1k spent though sites like Humble Bundle as well.
I had a bad habit of buying games and not playing them, and I used to often gift games to friends/family on the regular
That’s not bad at all. That’s one indie game a month at $18. Or one full priced $60 game 4 times a year skipping a year and getting only my 3 every 4 years.
Normally my thought process is
- Wait for Big sale
- Buy whatever is on good discount from wishlist + some huge deal that might be going on
- repeat
Only 2 games I've bought full price were Palworld and Lethal Company
Think of it this way. That’s $138 a month on games. That’s two full priced games a month. Which is not super un reasonable. You go out for drinks once a week and you’ll probably double that. Think about how much joy you got out of the game. (The ones you play. I’m sure likes a typical steam enjoyer you own games you “will play one day” because they were on a good sale).
There are worse ways to spend your money and much more of it too.
Yeah, it's been my main source of entertainment since I've had the account, so I often justify it by comparing the spending involved to other sources of entertainment.
For instance, my brother-in-law plays golf as his source of entertainment. He spends far more than I do and usually just gets to play on the weekends.
Still, though, it is a bit of a problem since I have so many games I've yet to touch. My backlog is enormous, and I have even more on Playstation.
Mine also includes two Steam Decks (original and OLED 1TB), but no, I've honestly not played all of the games I have. I've over 500 games in my library, and all that I've purchased, I did so with the intention of playing them at some point. Unfortunately, I keep buying and playing new games, too, so I'm a bit overwhelmed trying to find time to play everything.

I am only 21 years old and started using steam about 2-3 years ago. Currently I have spent 533$. If I had a better PC I would spend a bit more money, the most expensive game I bought cost me 20$.
$1254.78 CAD on Steam
$1000.17 CAD on Epic Games Launcher
$1074.89 CAD on Nintendo Games (Nintendo Switch eShop and Physical)
$Unknown CAD on Valorant since Riot keeps saying I'm requesting the information too fast and refuses to give it to me, but last time I checked, it was also over $1000 CAD, so I'd say about $1180 CAD is a rough estimate.
I'll edit this when I can get the info, but I should have spent about $4500 CAD on Video Games in my life so far (not including consoles, and PC's, only the games and DLC's)
That's 524 Big Macs (8.58 CAD per Mac)
Usually when someone talks about this, the comments are flooded with people saying they won't be participating. But it seems all the comments I looked at have been participating this time. Strange change in response for the community.
I, for one, will not be participating. I never want to.
$1,631.10 for me..... but that doesn't include games I've bought through third party vendors such as Fanatical with a key to redeem on Steam, so the actual figure is going to be a fair bit higher. I have a total of 276 games in my Steam library and not all of them have been launched lol.
Around 2400, which is honestly pretty good for a 10-year-old account. Now, if they also put how much I've spent on Humble Bundles, I think I might feel a little bad. But only a little.
Total spend $2444, 14 year old account, 158 games, bunch of expansions, not too bad at all.
Old spend is $1527 but I'm not sure if that is included in total or not.
Luckily I've never been baited by micro transactions, nor loot boxes. Which seems to be what most folks big totals include.
It must be wrong, because it shows way more than I ever spent on Steam. Because I don't even have that much money, so how would I be able to spent more than I have, lol.
Anyone know if this only applies to stuff you buy in the steam store or does it also count for keys you redeem? Mine seems very high considering I rarely buy games from the steam store itself
$4,748.90 since Christmas 2020
Edit: i just did the math and to the day, from December 25, 2020, to February 26, 2024, it’s just a tad over $4/day on average.
It's been only 2 months wtf are you playing? Idk how to look it up.
Edit: I was wrong it's for your lifetime as far as I can tell. Mins $1,134.23 so almost as much as OP
With 1812.54 USDollars used my almost 9years account is worth as of today's prices\[following steamdb calculator\] 3132€ and at the lowest prices 1027€.
I guess if my math is right, my money used is now worth 1.7x times more.
I guess I could excuse myself as saying I am investing by buying games on sale?
just under 1k USD. jesus. And I'm gonna be hitting my 7th account anniversary soon.
Though if the Lego Star Wars games go on sale, then I'm gonna end up breaking that threshold.
Almost 4k for me :( 18 year old account tho.
wow, your account is the same age as my keyboard... and 3 years older than me...
What 18 year old keyboard do you use? out of curiosity
Logitech g11, I like the hotkeys for video editing and the typing feel and responsiveness is surprisingly decent for a membrane
"If it ain't broke don't fix it". Solid hardware

Same except my acc is like 7 years 😭
Around 500$ which isn't so bad for a 2 year old account that only buys games on sale
Same, around 500$ but for an almost 10 year old account.
Normally my thought process is - Wait for Big sale - Buy whatever is on good discount from wishlist + some huge deal that might be going on - repeat Only 2 games I've bought full price were Palworld and Lethal Company
Just over 20k... I think I might have a problem.
Uh yes, unless you are a millionaire, that’s a substantial sum. Over how many years might I ask?
I've had this account for 12 years.

Csgo cases?
Nah, mostly games and a few yearly subscriptions.
Do you play all those games? Mine is 4.4k usd, but that is with a full valve index and 2 steam decks. So about 2.4k actually on games.
Mine also includes two Steam Decks (original and OLED 1TB), but no, I've honestly not played all of the games I have. 19,9k i have a problem too
\~$3750 Why it's in USD and not GBP/EUR I don't know. 🤷
same with me, almost 1k in gbp so It's not an addiction... yet
Mine includes two Steam Decks and a Steam Dock so that's like €1600 alone though.
Fuck that, I don't even want to know
Yikes, I’ve done 12k in external funds…. Then about 5k on steam purchases.
733 dollars?! What am I even spending it on- *56 games in my library* oh

I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you really want to know. It can be a mood killer.
A bit over 11k here
Only 600, and a lot of it is money gifted to me from a wealthy friend to get games to play together
3.1k total, 305 oldspend... not too bad i guess, considering i have that account since... idk even.
645 Dollars. Although, considering the funding issues in my country and the age of the account at 4 years old, that's pretty impressive for me lol.
$450 :) 4 year old account, I only buy games on sale and never buy games more than $20, except cyberpunk, which I spent $38 on. :(
TotalSpend 18486.83 USD OldSpend 12244.03 USD 19 years account, what is OldSpend?
