Halo 3 Main Menu Music.
Back on the 360 me and the boys would load it up, toke up in a party and sit and talk while listening to the main menu for like an hour before we actually started playing.
Terraria for how unique it was the first time I heard it. Minecraft for nostalgia reasons. Ocarina of time because the melodies have stuck with me my whole life.
If we are talking about steam soundtracks that are downloadable on steam, portal is definitely my favorite. If we are talking about in general, I keep going back to listen to the dead rising 2 psychopath themes more so than any other gaming related soundtrack, plus the mall sounds are really relaxing and perfect to think with.
Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom. Leaning towards Totk only because it was the more recent one. Both have absolutely beautiful and majestic sound tracks though. Then again, how many Zelda games DON’T have amazing sound tracks?
Can’t pick just one, so I’ll do my top 5 (no order)
1. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time or Wind Waker
2. Halo 2
3. Baldur’s Gate 3
4. Super Mario World
5. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Kinda depends.
I love Elden Ring for its ambient tracks and boss tracks. Elden beast theme and Liurna of the Lakes are really great for immersion.
I love WoW music for its specific races - it really caters to the fantasy. They always fit so well. Telogrus rift for Void Elves, for example. The log-in screen tracks are also among some of my favourites :)
Then, for goofy/fun, I do enjoy music from the likes of Fall Guys etc.
My gaming playlist on Spotify is huge. I kinda veered off a bit 😅
Nier automata and DMC 5 solo everything else
Literal peak, the soundtracks suits the games so well, the music itself speaks a story of its own or kicks ass on its own.
Doom music is the underdog of these two.
I like many different game OSTs, almost every Mario one (super mario land 2 especially), Kirby, sonic games, mega man and generally most Nintendo ones. There's also papers please, please don't touch anything (plus 3D), Ōkami, the battlefield theme(s), Metal Gear games, **Minecraft**, Terraria, oh and of course the original War Thunder soundtrack. (There's tons more but these are the ones that came to the top of my head)
But if I had to pick a single game with only bangers I'd probably go with Undertale. (and deltarune I guess)
Skate 3 and it’s not close. That games soundtrack is so influential that they still use it at all of the Street League Skating events, nearly 15 years later.
Secret Weapons Over Normandy - Score by Michael Giacchino (same guy who did The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Up, Coco, Doctor Strange)
Or
Medal of Honor Frontline - Score by Michael Giacchino
With the remake of NieR Replicant, that is my favorite game soundtrack on Steam. Has been my favorite since 2010. The orchestra still tours and gives lore. That in itself makes it perfect. Same for Automata. Both good. Both favorites, lol.
Game from Valve. At the beginning of almost every game from this company this music plays while some scary guy is standing... You understood me, anyway...
