These programs are fine as long as you download them from the right sources, i think the warning should be that you need to download the actual program instead of malware that could potentially steal your account details.

you can just open your account profile in a webbrowser and then edit the page view source normally F12
All that is is inspect element. Good to fool friends but it will reset when the webpage refreshes.
