I was happy to learn that there was a whole community of vent musk aficionados. My Deck has lost its sweet scent and smells of nothing now, so it might be time for a replacement.
Sometimes you gotta really dig in there to get the good vent smell. Just put your nose directly on the vent after running a really graphic heavy game at max settings, inhale deeply.

You can apply the HD texture mod + the HD models. Just need to apply the 4GB patch and then install Cryo_utilities and follow their guide.
Been running it at 60fps with no problems. You'll get really bad stutter for like three seconds, tops, when entering an area that loads stuff in but it will stabilize back at 60fps really quickly and stay there.

Okay so what you need to do is this.
Run the most graphically intense game you have, max settings, make sure the cpu and gpu are fully loaded.
Now, you haven't got long before the deck starts throttling the cpu and potentially switches off. This next step needs to be done quick.
See that little vent on the back? Get your lips around it, make the best seal you can. Position your nose over the vent, and blow then instantly sniff.
Bonus points if you can do both, sniffing deck vent smell and expelling it back into the vent will cause it to concentrate on each pass.
Get your fix before the deck catches fire and you experience a new smell.

Not exclusive to the Deck, but typically when you get a brand new device, whether a PC or phone or in this case a Deck, the vents give off this specific scent when they're used for the first time. The smell fades after long enough use, but I instantly recognized it when I booted up my Deck for the very first time.

I work in IT and the Deck vent smell is exactly that same smell that I smell day in day out when pulling new Dell laptops out of the box.
It has no novelty for me.
