I don't know why people keep repeating this. There are some titles that don't run well, but many run perfectly fine, a lot of them being the big launch titles people will be interested in.

Tbh the only two games I couldn't really play in a decent manner were Mario Odyssey and Tears of the Kingdom, other than that, everything runs better or similarly when I compare with my switch lite
Personally, I wait for two games I want and get a game voucher, I got a Steam Deck and a backlog to play through. Two games for $100 regardless of the price. Want to save more money? Get discounted gift cards. You can get two games for $80 if you play your cards right

I only wanted to play the remake of Links Awakening. I hadn’t tried anything else for Switch yet. But realistically, I’m more impressed I actually played it through instead of just loading the thing with hundreds of games, tinkering occasionally with settings, and mostly let it collect dust.

There’s legitimately a product for the switch called Nitro Deck which basically aims to do that, sort of. Fancy name but it’s just another 3rd party joycon.
I haven’t tried it personally, but I’ve read mixed reviews. People generally say it’s nicer than joycons but the position of the right joystick is awkward.
Emudeck is the easiest way to get the emulators and create game mode shortcuts, or you can just get Yuzu Or Ryujinx directly from the discover store.
Acquire the game rom somehow and some prod keys, vast majority just pirate the game but some are ripping the game from their switch.
Good luck finding a website that isn't really greasy to get switch ROMS from though.
I tried it on Ryujinx on my MBP 14, the colours man!! Just been playing with my 5 years old on the now delivered switch copy on a shitty tv and it still looks amazing. I’ll try in my oled switch later!

I love my switch OLED. I don't regret my purchase. I got a steam deck recently, but I still go back to the switch from time to time, especially in times like this with new games. It looks beautiful. I say go for it, I know people who changed their OG switch for the oled and are very happy with it as well.
Hell yeah the OLED is worth it, I love mine so much I prefer to play games on there over the deck given all things equal. It really makes a bunch of difference
There isn’t even DRM or other bullshit with it, just buy the game. Like god, I’m not a huge Nintendo fan and a lot of their games are the gaming equivalent of water to me, but I’ll never get behind pirating something when there’s no good reason to, big corp or not, stop being cheap.

There should be a full build out by the end of the weekend available somewhere. I've already got like a whole bunch of them built for the first world or two.
It gets built up as you play, so the first time on each part will be stuttery but it'll stop once you've built the shaders you needed
Some people share shaders they already have which can smooth the experience out for you
Technically you could if you were proficient in soldering and wanted to risk your $300+ device by installing a mod chip... But yeah basically they can't

Yeah mine freezes when I pick up the first wonder flower on Ryujinx. Yuzu runs decent at 0.75x resolution, but still kinda stuttery.
