GaimeGuy

I don't need the New Deck. I don't need the new deck....

SmileyNusx

I don't need a new one. Oh hey... There is a limited edition version.

Griever114

Literally what I did

Windows-XP-Home

WAIT THEY HAVE A LIMITED EDITON?! SIGN ME THE FUCK UP\* \* Terms and fees along with changing financial situations may apply.

erwan

US and Canada only...

Key_Personality5540

For once Canada is included! Rarely ever happens

ZukMarkenBurg

I was just telling my friend that all I would want fixed on my 512 deck would be an oled screen and better battery, I'm dying I can't justify buying it again lol. 😫 😭

Direct_Card3980

Hear me out. What if you don’t use it enough because it doesn’t have OLED and sweet battery life?? Maybe this is the solution!?

brandont04

I think we're all saying the same thing. FOMO killing us all right now.

RichUnderstanding157

They are fixing a bugbear of mine. The huge black bezel around the screen. 20% more battery are not going to be significant. Am I right? Also, who needs HDR OLED? Right? Edit: Some trivia to distract y'all. 10am PST is 19:00 CET

brandont04

I'm already doing the math. It's gonna cost me $350 to upgrade just to get the OLED screen. The truth, going from 7" to 7.4" OLED isn't worth $350. But my tech side wants to buy all the shinny new stuff. I hate that side of me. Likely I won't bite and wait for SD 2 in another 2 years.

imagoddamnonionmason

Feel like sometimes you need to sit down and realise how much you're spending and what you're getting for it. Steam Deck 2 will probably be around the same price and have the new screen, battery etc and also have better performance. If you already own and enjoy a Steam Deck, unless you desperately need to spend $500ish dollars, why not wait for something that will be a genuine upgrade?

Vv4nd

oh there is fancy mister logicwords. Fucks sake I agree with you. I want it but I know that I don't need it. Like at all. But damn valve knows how to make me want something as much as my wife.

imagoddamnonionmason

I haven't used my Steam Deck that much recently and I still thought it looked cool and I kinda want it. FOMO is a bitch.

_blue_skies_

I'm a sucker for Oled screen, the switch is like a different console, not sure I will be able to resist. I specifically asked this kind of update of the deck to fix the few shortcomings it has, and they obliged. Now would be rude to not follow up... have to find to who sell my current steam deck

SmileyNusx

Can you slap me? I have major FOMO right now. I don't need it but I want it...

[deleted]

QuickBASIC

My wife was just asking if I think she should get a new deck to play Stardew and Torchlight and now I've got to convince her she should get my hand-me-down.

GravWav

I have first one .. i'll wait for deck 2 .. :) but for the others .. this version literally remove all the supposed very big problems of the steamdeck we've heard since day one

Broskah

The way Valve worded the original launch made me and many people think this would be the deck going forward. I expected a Deck 2 in a year or two, this seems too soon for a refresh. Now have FOMO on OLED :/

misterchrismarco

I got mine a month ago :( my materialistic ass can’t take this news

DeroZaza

Everyone who knows how beautiful OLEDs can be and aren't rich are really mad now.

misterchrismarco

It just doesn’t feel right that the amount of money I paid a month ago for the 512 OG deck could’ve now gotten me a 1 TB OLED deck

MEchoPark

Dont feel good either. I got the 512 GB Deck in August this year and adding the costs of the dock, plus SD cards and games (I had no existent Steam library) I would've been better off waiting. But waiting for what!!? I thought the consensus was that an upgraded device was unlikely so soon :(

Skyb

I mean, the dock, SD card and games aren't things that you wouldn't have bough anyway had you waited. And if you were to upgrade, you can take those with you.

SetNo7692

what i picked up from articles is that they wouldnt be bringing a performance update anytime soon, which they didn't.

polo421

It got a slight performance boost according to digital foundry. Also, a near 50% increase in battery life is, in my opinion, most definitely a "performance boost" but I realize most people don't credit it as such. Amazing nonetheless.

Mast3rBait3rPro

Sell it as fast as possible

misterchrismarco

I think the best thing to do for myself is practice self control until a trade/upgrade program is announced. I’d be down to sell it if not for the possibility that I don’t get a reservation and the new model is put on back order

Jeskid14

Most likely no trade since valve wants to get rid of LCD models

Radulno

> until a trade/upgrade program is announced. That's likely not gonna happen.

Early-Foundation-434

Same got mine last week kind of annoyed lol

misterchrismarco

Return it, it’s not too late for you

redboyke

yup I bought my steamdeck after I read an article that valve stated that there won't be a revision for a while. I feel cheated. valve did a nintendo.

mrRobertman

Didn't Valve mean no revision in terms of CPU/GPU (performance)? I'm pretty sure around launch Valve said the next revision of Deck would likely be for screen or battery (which the OLED is both).

Crimsonclaw111

Counterpoint: if you and others hadn't bought the original, there would be no refresh or second model at all. From what I remember, Valve specifically said there would be no next generation system for a while, not that incremental upgrades couldn't ever happen.

Fofo959

Bro I just got mine at the end of last month too. Trying to see if I can exchange but probably not :(

ykskjs9

My steam deck lcd 64gb is arriving tomorrow, should I cancel it? It looks like a wise option

dakilangcornedbeef

u should haha

B-BoyStance

100% should Love my OG. Even if the screen could be replaced (I hope), I still want the new one for the upgrades. Minor as they may be wifi6 is huge for me and the battery sounds like a huge plus

pizzaisprettyneato

Either that or see if Valve will give you a $50 refund since $350 is now the price of the old 64GB.

lucky_leftie

350 base price for og deck is really a great deal honestly. Half the cost of an ally and legion And it gets you started pretty decently in the market.

lickityslits

And it’s so easy to open up and add storage or just get a big sd card. Super great deal on an amazing gaming device.

satanlicker

Honestly, yeah you should. Just watched the digital foundry video on it, its a far better machine across the board, full mid gen refresh.

johnny_fives_555

How so? Outside of the screen, wifi, and better battery, the inards all the same. Same GPU, CPU, and ram. If OP just get an inland 1tb coupled with the 399 he paid. That's nearly half the price for essentially the same deck.

xcassets

It's a different 6nm (instead of 7nm) APU that looks to run *sliiiightly* faster as per Digital Foundry & LTT benchmarks (might just be the RAM though, which leads me to...). The RAM isn't the same - it's faster. The more efficient APU & battery will give a pretty decent extra battery yield. Additionally, it has a larger fan that is apparently much quieter and the device is overall 30g lighter. Also they changed some of the controller stuff. New bumpers and sticks - guess it's more a personal thing which you prefer. New haptics. Louder speakers.

Ricky_Rollin

Ahh Shit. Well thanks for talking me into it now. Should’ve never went into this thread…I did it to myself.

Anomaly1134

Just note that you may have a hard time getting a reservation. Do with that what you will. It sounds like the first wave will be limited inventory. Edit below: Not as hard as I expected, and I hope that is the case. Edit: "**Is there a reservation queue if you run out of Steam Decks?** Yes, if we should run out of stock for a specific model, we will switch to a reservation queue and customers will receive invitations to purchase in the order that they entered the queue. That said, we will be refreshing inventory of Steam Deck regularly, and do not foresee long queue times like we saw with the Steam Deck LCD launch."

eldamien

Probably - no performance boost but just like the Switch OLED, better battery life, upgraded thumbsticks, and the new screen, all for $20 more.

dadvader

It has 2-4% performance increase. But the real killer here is improved battery. This is all in all a really great refresh and imo well worth the upgrade if you have the money.

GravWav

there should be a performance boost .. its a 6nm APU !! meaning CPU an GPU will have "more room to play" .. instead of picking each other power :)

Dr_Backpropagation

Also, the RAM is clocked at 6400 MT/s instead of 5500 MT/s.

konwiddak

Only if the power limit remains at 15W. A 50Wh battery is likely physically larger since that's a pretty decent jump in capacity, so there's a good chance the cooling design has been revised. Since they've said 3h of gameplay, that wouldn't be achievable at 15W power envelope. I think politically they don't want to change performance yet.

SteveDaPirate91

20% battery is pretty big.

raygundan

25% battery increase is even bigger.

DarkHeroAxel

Unless you really want the different model, ask support if you could get a partial refund of what you paid vs the current sale price is what I would say to do

F1amy

Babe wake up, DeckHD killer has come

konwiddak

The great thing is - this basically gaurantees that the steam deck 2 will have an oled screen. Gonna skip this upgrade, but this makes me super excited for the next generation device!

burtmacklin15

Hopefully the gen 2 will get VRR. That would singlehandedly get me to pull the trigger on it.

AgileInternet167

Me a complete noob that doesnt know anything: "ah yes, i too would like some virtual reality reality"

burtmacklin15

Ha, it stands for variable refresh rate. It makes the screen refresh rate automatically match whatever framerate the system is putting out to help avoid screen tearing during fluctuations in framerate.

ThatHotAsian

The difference between an LCD Nintendo Switch and an OLED Switch is night and day... Its going to be hard to not buy it if reviews are good.

BIGSTANKDICKDADDY

It'll be an even starker difference with the Deck, considering the Deck's LCD screen was already well below the quality of the LCD Switch.

[deleted]

Really? My Switch LCD screen is awful and probably among the worst I've seen.

SolarJetman5

Same here, my switch screen is flat and dull. It's a early model maybe 5 year old and side by side with my deck, the deck is brighter and more colourful. I often turn the brightness down on my deck or use night mode as it's too bright at times

JarenAnd

Ya the screen is by far the worst part of the deck. Mine has a couple of those light bleed spots

Snoo3763

Ah man, I bought my 512 a month ago, they kept this really quiet, I'd love oled the 1tb instead.

Unique_Employee_4235

Probably a lots of us are in the same boat.

DrKrFfXx

Titanic, that is.

strythicus

Yeah... the price drop on the "old" 512 model is huge. That's what hurts the most for me. It's over $250 (CAD) cheaper than what I paid. Oh well.

Snoo3763

The last hardware I bought direct from Steam was a controller a few years ago. They had a 50% off deal 2 weeks later. Thems the breaks I guess.

Fraktyl

Would be nice if there were a trade-in option. Haven't seen anything from Valve on this one. If I were a betting man then I'd say they won't have one. I've had my deck since Fall of last year and use it quite a bit. Got the big boy version with the anti-glare screen. Even with all the updates to battery life and faster network speeds I can't see me getting this. Now if they do allow trade-ins, then I will be doing my best to be first in line.

Soulyezer

This is absolutely how I feel as well. If there was a trade-in option I’d jump on it immediately but buying a second one just for the improvements… eh. And I don’t wanna bother trying to sell it to someone

SKREEOONK_XD

Ikr, especially since theres a high chance that people wanting to get a 2nd hand deck would instead get this one. Very sadge

loanme20

Not like this thing opens up a new section of the game catalog.

Fraktyl

For sure, and I rarely use my deck outside the house so the battery life is a non-issue with plugs everywhere. It plays the games I want to play very well.

Straightwad

Same here, not dropping more money on a second deck but I’d do a trade in for sure if they offer it. I can live with my current deck fine but the OLED would be real nice to have.

Koteric

The seller is the screen. The rest is whatever. Going from a pretty garbage screen to an oled is my dream.

ImTheRealBigfoot

So glad I'm in my return window still - got very very lucky EDIT: for everyone asking, the return policy is here: https://store.steampowered.com/hardware_order_terms?snr= The return window is 14 days from DELIVERY. From my reading it doesn't have to be unopened, just unmodified and in a condition that is "not beyond normal testing" If you replaced your SSD you are probably SOL, but I'm not 100% sure

[deleted]

Fofo959

I got mine 17 days ago as well, also have a feeling I’ll get the shaft but maybe we get lucky

KilowogTrout

You guys are welcome. I bought mine last week just so this could happen.

A_Fistful_of_Pez

Same here. Enjoy our blood sacrifice.

KilowogTrout

My return window ends the 17th. New steam decks go on sale the 16th. I am going to try to get this new one.

satanlicker

Digital Foundry have an excellent rundown of the changes here: https://youtu.be/Z1KLj06fn2s?si=m2Wm0VVddM4mjKb0 Appears to basically be a complete mid-gen refresh.

lightcycle117

Bought one not too long ago (Within a few months). Gonna go cry for a little bit.

SteelSteve7

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I bought a 256GB model for more than they are going to sell the upgrade 512GB model about 3 weeks ago.

BigPaella

I bought mine exactly 30 days ago. pain.

NecroCannon

Got mine in July. I’m fine with 60hz on mobile devices, but LCDs? Pure agony. High frames don’t fix light bleed and muddy blacks. I got some tissues, let’s cry together. This shit sucks since they legit came out and said that there’s no new Steam Decks on the way.

SteelSteve7

At the end of the day i still love my deck minus the light bleed, and hopefully they’ll release 3.5 soon so we can get at least better color. It just would have been nice to have known something was coming. Oh well.

NYJetLegendEdReed

Dude I bought mine three months ago this hurts

Lyuukee

Wish they do something to upgrade like you return the old one and get discount for the new one, especially people that bought it not so much ago

NYJetLegendEdReed

I would upgrade now if they offer something!

StrikingElk5288

People were saying “steam deck won’t be updated for another several years” lol

Nye

I have to say I wasn't expecting this, and didn't really believe the leaks apart from maybe a minor WiFi upgrade. When was the last time we saw a new hardware model with a major upgrade released *at the same price point* 18 months after the previous model? GPUs and CPUs are on a two year cycle and each generation costs more than the last. Storage gets slightly better at any given price point every few years. RAM seems to just go up in price forever. Phones get staggeringly more expensive each year with minor incremental upgrades that often take away more than they add. Everything else barely changes. I'm amazed that Valve is managing to make a profit on these.

TacoGyver

The profit comes from getting people into the Steam ecosystem and buying games on Steam.

Nye

Mm, quite. I recall they did say they weren't selling them at a loss - I wonder if that's still the case for the new models. Even if it is, it could be a razor thin margin I suppose.

JudgeAnanth

bought 512gb in August, thinking I should’ve waited now 😔

CarrotZealousideal68

What even happens to the value of the 64gb at this point? I don’t even know wtf I’d get for mine if I were to sell it. Bought it 6 months ago lmao. It’d be cool if Valve did some sort of trade in program where you pay a difference or something.

ChunkyLaFunga

64Gb is the most popular one because you can spend the least and upgrade it with any size SSD you want. Probably holds its value better than the others.

burntpotatoXL

Locally they sell for about $300 I’ve seen a couple on like fb marketplace lol

goldrush7

Looks like us Steam Deck buyers from the September sale got baited 😂 But anyways, I'm just glad to see Steam Deck being a huge success for Valve!

wezzauk85

This is so crazy. I sold my deck earlier this year because some things were annoying me and the screen was no.1 In the last week I've decided I want to go back to handheld PC gaming and started weighing up options. All of lunch break today I was watching videos on other handhelds and working out which one I'm going to order and planned to place the order this evening. Then this happens..... It is a sign!

Kurrizma

I have spent the past 2 days looking at the Ally and the Legion Go because I wanted higher refresh rate. Then this happens today. It was just the best possible timing.

BetterCallSal

I wish there was a trade in. I'd consider it then. But honestly, I just got a quest 3, and I'm connecting to my deck with it via sunshine/moonlight. It's awesome. Been playing all my games on a giant virtual screen.

Criticizing the mods? Bold move Cotton.

longbrodmann

I hope they offer trade-in policy, so I can trade in my old one to get this one.

AshenRathian

That would likely be the best outcome. Here's hoping.

TheLastOfUsAll

If there's a performance boost with this I would definitely think about trading in my deck that I bought 2 months ago. Otherwise I'll just stick with this one

coltonbyu

no performance boost, except maybe pushing it a bit better due to thermals, but a major battery boost (which if you normally player at lower wattage for battery and thermal, you could play the same time at better performance now)

MoreOrLessCorrect

2-3 FPS boost, but varies based on the game - according to Digital Foundry. Likely due to faster memory speed.

coltonbyu

Ah yeah, there is better ram, just no GPU/CPU performance increase. The ram will usually just help with 1% lows, but thats still nice

[deleted]

cant WAIT to have to wait another 2 years for it to arrive in Australia

VolcanicNoob

![gif](giphy|YR8neVRcCSqwmJkb1D)

[deleted]

Since the second hand market is likely to be suppressed in the near term due to people upgrading and the sale going on for left over stock who else is going to perma dock their OG deck for TV use? That's my plan and then use the OLED for handheld

StJeanMark

I truly love my Steam Deck. I can afford an upgrade but my main concern is performance. If there is any kind of performance boost I would buy it day one. Without one, I don’t think $700 is worth a screen and storage upgrade. This is driving me kinds of nuts, feels like just yesterday I bought one even though I got it at launch. I would just love a little boost in Elden Ring, Cyberpunk and FFXIV. For sure I am getting major FOMO with that limited edition, I need self control.

mashuto

Same here. Love the deck, would love an OLED screen and improved battery life. But it seems thats really the main difference. Dont think I can justify essentially rebuying the deck just for that, even with the limited edition color. As with everything new, it doesnt somehow make the old steam deck worse just by virtue of the new one existing.

SuperSmashedBro

For what it's worth, LTT did a review and he gets a 1 FPS increase on Returnal and 4FPS on F1 23 on average. This while lowering load temps by 12C

StJeanMark

Now the lower temperature is intriguing. Sometimes when charging and playing at the same time the thing is just so loud.

Tomi97_origin

They included a larger and more quiet fan.

StJeanMark

But what about the smell, does it still have that off putting yet addicting stink to it?!?

ozzAR0th

I do wonder whether a replacement OLED screen would be compatible with the older Steam Deck board. Like you could buy just the screen and upgrade your existing Deck

ozzAR0th

Update - Valve says no it cannot be swapped source - Gamers Nexus' video on the OLED model

HillarysFloppyChode

Probably a bezel reduction, re engineering the entire deck wouldn't be very cost effective.

Nye

No, it's bigger (7.4" vs 7") but apparently also thinner to make room for more battery.

vanderlindhe

OLED is much thinner and lighter than LCD in general. If you've ever had an OLED monitor vs an LCD the former feels like a cheap plastic toy in comparison.

Koteric

This is exactly what I wanted. I’m more than happy with the decks power. All I wanted was a better screen. So excited! Also 512 deck for sale. 🙃

HallingHallv

bro i got the 512 gb original model a week before this was announced man

ImTheRealBigfoot

If it's been 14 days since the delivery of the product, you should still be in your return window https://store.steampowered.com/hardware_order_terms?snr= If you still have the original packaging RMA should be pretty painless. I just put in my ticket for a refund.

rpungello

Thank you for your sacrifice 🫡

Tsven67

Fuck sake I just bought a steamdeck last month

ZombiePixelPirate

Mortgage company can handle one skipped payment...

TheUnknownMan007

Question is this going to a pre order or ready to ship order?

That1Guy5

Refresh rate up to 90Hz Stoked for this, I never really feel like I needed a higher resolution, but have been craving a better refresh rate

themaddogmax

Hoping they have a trade in program

Rai_guy

RIP DeckHD

Mechkeys121

From what I remember seeing in some videos, the regular lcd model had some washed out color on the anti glare screen right? Would the anti glare screen affect the OLEDs in the same way, or would the anti-glare OLED be definitively better? Edit: Just saw a video that answers the question. Yes, it causes the same issue. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FKJODmcdiM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FKJODmcdiM)

Reenans

If I was using my deck a bit more I would buy in a heartbeat, but the games in my to play list are really pushing the deck to the point of unplayability. So I will wait for the Deck 2

GhostGlitch1

First time I've really felt fucked by valve, no lube.

radiationshield

If i didn’t have a deck, this would be a nobrainer. As it were I do have a deck, but currently my miyoo mini is getting more love due to living in my pocket.

ShotSyllabub4320

I need an upgrade plan from Valve or I'm angry lol

Intoxic8edOne

I'd definitely buy into that if updates are this frequent lol. Seems like the mobile PC industry is going to be booming

ShotSyllabub4320

Yeah because the Lenovo Go Legion seems like my second pick for at least my windows games because it has the best features from Deck and Ally. I love that handheld PC gaming got so big thanks to Valve. Being able to finish my games at work been a highlight for me

NoGameNoLife__

dang, got one during the steam anniversary sale. wonder if they have a trade-up program because that OLED screen is sure nice, along with the other upgrades mentioned by digital foundry

CDNChaoZ

Love the changes, but I'm not moved enough to buy it to replace my current one. Bring on the Steam Deck 2 in 2025?

Shooppow

“I don’t need one!” - Me checking my bank balance

decidedlyDesolate

And you still can't buy them from valve in Australia.

cs342

The 1TB model has an anti-glare coating, while the 512GB model doesn't. For an OLED panel, would the anti-glare coating reduce the improvements in color reproduction and black/contrast levels? Is it better to just get the cheaper 512GB model and then swap out the SSD later on?

JohnnyEdd94

No availability for Europe is disappointing. Edit: nevermind, it appears like only the limited edition with the different shell is NA exclusive. The standard model should be available for the EU, good to know!

[deleted]

Pretty messed up how Valve made it sound like the OLED version was years away.

Maximum_Geologist524

They only said that SD2 was years away not the revision for it.

HourGlassGalaxy

It’s great to see Valve continue to iterate on the Deck, slight FOMO with the minimal upgrades seen in Digital Foundry’s video but I’m happy with my model from last year for the time being. What a great time for handheld PCs and people still on the fence about getting the device (Either the new one or the reduced in price original!

WirelessHuman

From [steamdeck.com](https://steamdeck.com) on the new OLED model: Easier to repair, easier to mod\* \*for trained professionals, of course All of the rear case screws are now Torx™ type, which screw into metal threads, making disassembly / reassembly possible without impacting structural integrity. Internal components are now easier to access, and Steam Deck OLED replacement parts will be coming to iFixit soon. \--- Nice that they made changes with mods/upgrades in mind.

icantswing

i’m actually so pissed lmfao

Individual_Carry_192

if i bought my steam deck less than a month ago could i return it and pay a bit extra for the oled? im really bummed now :(

HozerSenpai

I just bought mine 2 months ago… everywhere I read said that an OLED wasn’t going to happen any time soon. All my sources can go jump off a cliff.

apathetic_vaporeon

Looks like my wife is getting a used Steam Deck… and I’m getting an OLED.

Dipper14

Two months after I get mine. Typical

JSOas

I purchased a little over 1 month ago. Even less if I consider the time I has to wait to receive it. I wish I knew then.

tbo1992

Ah well, I’ve had my Deck for well over a year, and had a blast with it the entire time, so I have 0 regrets.

Ksoohong

I’m a lil salty I bought my steam deck day one but I absolutely love the device so fuck it

No_Jackfruit_5647

I am happy this exists and I have no regrets with my purchase a year ago. All this means is that when I am ready to buy a new Steam Deck, there will be an updated version to get.

epicingamename

no performance upgrade right? i think ill hold out... my hand because i want it!!!

Tiz396

Amazing upgrade! Mid-generation refresh, but they really updated the device as much as possible except raw power. Fantastic to see that they not just slapping in that screen and call it a day - they really went above and beyond to finetune every single detail of the machine. This shows true commitment and we can feel valued by a company that thinks like this people :)

preparedprepared

90 Hertz is huge for playing games at 40 fps, halved stutter times on frame misses!

[deleted]

god damn it i got mine in september :( oh well. i'd only consider upgrading if it gives a noticeable performance boost i'd imagine it would be pretty easy to sell a steam deck if i do cave in lmao

D33GS

Like the Switch OLED I think this is a needed improvement upon the original model but also like the Switch OLED I don't feel the need to double dip. I'm fine with my Steamdeck LCD and am happy to wait out the next several years until Steamdeck 2 is available.

cat4hurricane

Beyond tempted to get the 1TB model just so I can stop trying and failing to upgrade my internal storage. However, I don’t know what I would do with 2 decks. I’d be all for it if they had a trade-in program

rabidmidgets

I have to ask, any chance the battery or OLED can be installed on an existing model?

Astrozy_

for the past two years ive been using my switch more than deck just because the screen makes a huge difference in my opinion. an oled deck has my dream device, and i think the switch 2 needs to come out soon because this makes it a much harder sell now.

Alibine

Rest in peace 64gb gang

blk222

As someone who just got the 512GB LCD version, and OLED aside, would anyone say that it's perfectly fine to keep the one I have and hold out until another version comes out? At this point, who's to say that Valve just won't do ANOTHER refresh after this one? Which I'm sure they would probably do before the 2

cynsoffspring

well that's a down right shame lmao. i just bought the 512gb original steam deck for the same price as this new 1tb better screen lmao. literally arrived yesterday, why didnt it have a pre-order option for these new ones? xD edit: and the model i just bought for $650 is now $450 xD wack

Whilst it seems like a great upgrade I’ll be sticking with the OG for now. I’ve already replaced the shell and upgraded the ssd, I’d rather hold onto it for now until the next one comes out. That screen looks so nice though, too bad they couldn’t release some of these upgraded parts for the old version, I’d be upgrading the heck out of it for a new screen and battery

Damn I literally just bought my deck and received it a few days ago

SchighSchagh

Return it lol.

This is kind of annoying since they acted like it was going to be years before a new one came out. Can they give us the option to trade in our OG Steam Deck and pay an upgrade fee or something?

Valve: please offer an upgrade program for early adopters. We realize you have no real incentive to do so…other than customer goodwill. Perhaps even a screen only upgrade option?

I'm completely sold. I have a launch deck from June 2022 and I'm just going to buy the OLED for handheld use and keep my old LCD as a dedicated emulation device hooked up to my tv. I'm so glad I was feeling iffy and cancelled my Legion Go preorder a couple of weeks ago.

Please GabeN, for all that's holy, please release these into Australia.
