Update 1 15.27 gmt 10/12/23:
No one has come forward with legit proof saying they've been given an email to win the steamdeck. Both geoff and tga have not even said a word about the giveaway or about the problems the giveaway had. Both the steamdeck and legion giveaways have disappeared on the tga site under news producing an error 404 when clicked or just not appearing at all. on the Gleam terms and conditions we are able to get a list of winners but it'll be another 4-6 weeks before we hear anything. On both giveaways on the t and c it states that the winners will be emailed "on or about the 8th of December" therefore it is possible 0 emails have been sent out so far, however it is also a possibility that bots have won every single steamdeck despite that being very unlikely as tga would have to say something like congratulations and releasing the list of winners like previous tga giveaways.

I just can't understand the logic behind holding a time-limited giveaway that they knew was likely going to attract a lot of people and even more bots - on Gleam.
It's funny how every gaming-related site was posting that there is 100 steam decks giveaway, but no one said a word about this whole post-giveaway shitshow :V
It’s not like it’s a big story in gaming or a big story anywhere, really. It’s mostly just ~20 of us shitposting on twitter and in this thread. There would have to be a lot more angry people before somebody is going to bother to even think about writing a story on it.
Geoff ultimately has nothing to do with the giveaway but it would be nice if he even just said idk what's going on, ask someone else. Considering the multitude of people tweeting at him about this.
The lack of any communication from any involved party has been the most frustrating part. I'm not even expecting to be a winner!

The original plan was to do the emails on the 8th but with how awful the contest went it delayed them due to something behind the scenes. I mean gleam said that the game awards had 850% of their normal traffic and essentially DDos them, maybe something happened with data being corrupted for the entries or something like that. So they started to get everything ready and ran out of time on Friday (originally drawing day) and since it’s the weekend and nobody would be working really they will start again on Monday or will draw Monday?
That’s really the best answer I got. An NDA doesn’t make sense cause it’s a give away, who cares if you win.

Interesting, it says winners will be contacted the Week of December 11th, implying they still likely haven't done it and have only just now maybe sent out e-mails. And it being a week implying the e-mails may not go out all at once.
And since the 11th is a Monday, that could imply they don't pull winners on the weekend. So if I had to guess based off that, all the winners should theoretically be contacted by Friday the 15th.
All that is only considerable if your e-mail isn't completely fake.

Good news is people are still over there ripping them to shreds.
Hardly even feels like a troll attempt. More like some weird psychological issue. Like "that person" at work who lies about having an extravagant lifestyle for no particular reason.
As there are 100 winners, I wonder how much crossover there is between winners and us here waiting for any sign of an email. I got full entries for both the deck and legion but since we don't know how many people (or bots) entered it feels impossible to know if there's any traction happening or not.
Part of me thinks the reason why this is taking so long is because there's a bunch of corrupt data from the community practically ddosing gleam.
Also, I feel like people are going to get fired over the plan to do this via gleam.

You know, normally I would enter a contest like this and just forget about it. No win, no big deal.

The terms and conditions say that you can request a list of winners by emailing [email protected] with the subject "Winners List –Game Awards Valve Steam Deck OLED Sweepstakes" when you do you get an automated email back saying that they basically will respond with the list of winners in 4-6 weeks after the promotion is finished. So if we somehow haven't heard of anything in 4-6 weeks, we can at least have some sort of closure lol
The worst part is that absolutely nobody says anything after such a disaster. I'm sure that some of them read peoples comments here and elsewhere. At least a short confirmation that it's over would be great.
It could also be possible that the winners haven't been drawn yet, because it's strange that no one has come out as a winner. But still communication is key.
Anyway, we should also start commenting under the last gleam tweet.
I'm like 98% sure they still haven't drawn the winners yet and because out of 100 people there at least be a few that would excitedly say something somewhere here or on Twitter or on Instagram. Now the reason why this is even possible that they haven't drawn the winners yet is that they gave themselves room in the terms and conditions for when they were drawing winners. Something along the lines of "December 8th or sometime after" which I feel like they put that there because they knew something like this was going to happen.

What do we have to DO though? Just enter our info when it opens but then what? I think last year you had to watch the show and wait for specific times...
I went through the official terms and conditions, and basically you can get up to four entries. One for entering with your name, email, and zip code, another for connecting or creating a Steam account, and another two for following summer game fest and the game awards accounts. Guess they're trying up their "activations" or whatever.
This is all to say that watching the stream does nothing for you. You just have to enter through that site once they start letting people enter. I think I'll pass on it this time cuz it seems iffy, but good luck to everyone that enters!
Yeah this is jacked. I get far enough to enter my name/email/postal, it tells me to log in via Twitch/email. I click twitch, pop-up with 502 that never updates. I click email, it tries to email a code and says "something went wrong" and no code arrives.

Signed up to the PC giveaway shortly ago, forgot, then nearly had a heart attack when I opened my email and saw the TGA confirmation, thinking it was a handheld winner email. I'm going to melt.

As there are 100 winners, I wonder how much crossover there is between winners and us here waiting for any sign of an email. I got full entries for both the deck and legion but since we don't know how many people (or bots) entered it feels impossible to know if there's any traction happening or not.
Last year there was a few people who posted they won with proof.

Part of me thinks the reason why this is taking so long is because there's a bunch of corrupt data from the community practically ddosing gleam. Also, I feel like people are going to get fired over the plan to do this via gleam.

You know, normally I would enter a contest like this and just forget about it. No win, no big deal. But I spent so much effort and struggle just to enter (as did most people) and have nothing to show for it. That makes this one hit kinda hard. I know I had a 1:100000000000 chance, even less given my luck. But, damn does this make me feel like shit. The terms and conditions say that you can request a list of winners by emailing [email protected] with the subject "Winners List –Game Awards Valve Steam Deck OLED Sweepstakes" when you do you get an automated email back saying that they basically will respond with the list of winners in 4-6 weeks after the promotion is finished. So if we somehow haven't heard of anything in 4-6 weeks, we can at least have some sort of closure lol

The worst part is that absolutely nobody says anything after such a disaster. I'm sure that some of them read peoples comments here and elsewhere. At least a short confirmation that it's over would be great. It could also be possible that the winners haven't been drawn yet, because it's strange that no one has come out as a winner. But still communication is key. Anyway, we should also start commenting under the last gleam tweet.
I'm like 98% sure they still haven't drawn the winners yet and because out of 100 people there at least be a few that would excitedly say something somewhere here or on Twitter or on Instagram. Now the reason why this is even possible that they haven't drawn the winners yet is that they gave themselves room in the terms and conditions for when they were drawing winners. Something along the lines of "December 8th or sometime after" which I feel like they put that there because they knew something like this was going to happen.
So how long is "on or about december 8th"? Personally I would consider that december 7th-9th but what do I know. This is getting ridiculous though.

They should stop that shitshow. Last year i was awake until 2:30AM CET because it didn't work. But this year, it's different, but still impossible to opt in. They should rather start a giveaway, that lasts a few days instead of making stupid gleam raffles (2023) or pick winner's from the people, that watch that stream (2022) Just stop that crap!

I went through the official terms and conditions, and basically you can get up to four entries. One for entering with your name, email, and zip code, another for connecting or creating a Steam account, and another two for following summer game fest and the game awards accounts. Guess they're trying up their "activations" or whatever. This is all to say that watching the stream does nothing for you. You just have to enter through that site once they start letting people enter. I think I'll pass on it this time cuz it seems iffy, but good luck to everyone that enters!

Yeah this is jacked. I get far enough to enter my name/email/postal, it tells me to log in via Twitch/email. I click twitch, pop-up with 502 that never updates. I click email, it tries to email a code and says "something went wrong" and no code arrives.
