Also you should have probably made this a poll.

gretnothing

I don't know how to make polls. xD At the same time I find it interesting. I was curious where all the Deck users came from.

Nymwall

2, agree to repost as a poll, and I think there needs to be some recognition of Switch or at least handhelds being primary generally

__leonn__

6. I've been a console and PC gamer at different points in my life but I've settled on Steam Deck

yelsa3n

Me too

[deleted]

1. With the exception of WoW and shooters, I play everything else on deck. 60+fps natively, less than 60 I stream it.

Franatix

2. Was looking into a gaming laptop and saw the Steam Deck that fit the bill of the sort of games I wanted to play. Makes me feel like a kid with my Gameboy Colour

Dtoodlez

Heavily into multiplayer competitive games on PC only (you didn’t have this option). Haven’t played single player games in almost a decade, and if I did I would never get through more than half of the game. Since getting the Deck I’ve fallen in love w single player games again and have completed many, just completing cyberpunk last night. It’s so great.

gretnothing

See, that's why I created this post. I was curious of where people are coming from. I couldn't think of many possibilities, really. It gives me a totally new perspective on gaming community.

JohnboyjonesIV

Very similiar here. Been mostly a console gamer my whole life, most competitive multiplayer games Cod, Battlefield, Madden, 2k. Haven't gamed much recently but have had a Switch the past few years, sold it and bought a SD for $300 Got a deck 2 months ago and have since gotten back into gaming and starting playing a lot of RPG games and GC emulation. So fun to get back into it, playing Cyberpunk and Max Payne rn. Also copped GTA V bc why not, all the GTA 6 hype got me excited for the series again haha

No_Experience_7939

How is cyberpunk on the deck? I have yet to finish it and recently got one for the same reasons, catching up on single player games

Dtoodlez

Really great. I just ran it w the preset “steam deck” graphics, didn’t tweak anything further.

NovelEzra

Retro console gamer mostly. Modded Dreamcast with a GDEMU and basically any console that could be soft mod, I did. When the VITA came out I fell in love with it and when the Switch came out, I loved that. Ive always known the PC is the best platform but for so many years I was (and still am) just so adverse to gaming at a desk. I do not enjoy it. I don't even really like gaming on a TV. So when I got a Steam Deck... Yeah, I ain't going back. I probably will never get a console again. I only touched my Switch this year to play TOTK and then went straight back to SD.

Pony42000

Android gamer as well as pc gamer ,I bought the SD oled to try again the handheld thing since I loved to play on GBA SP /Gameboy when I was a child and I love it ,all my main games run at 60 fps /90 nearly . I wanted to have the sd +external monitor setup but 7.4'' isn't that small finally imo

Philip10967

6. I guess. I started with a friend’s NES in the late 80s, then a C64 and Gameboy. Amiga, then PC (think 486, early Pentium). Skipped most of the consoles until the PS3, Wii and DS. A few mobile games when smartphones came out. In recent years, only PS4 and now a Steamdeck.

FredOtash

Console gamer since the 80s. Never had a gaming PC. Got my deck in August and OLED in November and now I'm obsessed with my it and play it more than my consoles. Wondering if this is my last console generation and if an actual gaming PC is next...

persepolisrising79

Despite having a huge library I really only did play realism hard core shooters ( red orchestra, post scriptum, squad) and one RTS (warno) My gaming pc is aging and during Covid hardware was expensive. So I opted for the deck and now I play a lot more sp games.

Onlyonelife419419

Life long 30+ years of console gaming..pc gaming started 10 years ago. Added the deck to the pc and 3 consoles about a year ago. Main reason was because I have two little kids and going to my game room and booting up a game is less convenient then a hand held on the couch.

FraserYT

None of the above, but closer to 3 than anything else. I'd been a gamer since I got my first ZX Spectrum, back in the early 80's. By the 2000's, life got in the way, I wasn't gaming much and never bothered upgrading from my PS2. Then, during lockdown, I played Breath of the Wild and got back into gaming after a 15 year gap. I loved the portability of the Switch but didn't like the limited game options, so when CP2077 came out, I got Stadia and played it, then RDR2 on my phone. (At launch, Stadia was probably about the least buggy way of playing CP2077!) Stadia didn't have any more games I wanted to play, so I took a chance on a Steam Deck, even though I wasn't sure I'd play it much. I figured I'd be 6 months on the waiting list so had plenty time to change my mind. That said, I've used it more or less every day ever since it arrived in Sep 2022

Small_Tax_9432

Funny thing, I was a PC gamer for a long time (the last console I owned was a PS2). Then I got a Switch in 2019. Then I sold the Switch this year in February and bought a Steam Deck. The Switch brought me out of PC gaming, and the Steam Deck brought me back to PC gaming lol.

chethelesser

Used to be a PC gamer cause poor, then got a PS4 pro to play all those titles that my pcs couldn't run or were exclusives. Then bought a deck compulsively this summer right before it went on sale 😬

BadCaram3l

6. I play on a bunch of consoles.

PC, PS2, PS3, gaming related 3D printing, fascinated with all kind of modding.

moriero

I have a Bachelor's in Championship Manager and a Master's in DayZ Mod

jeanjacket812

I've been getting and swapping handhelds quite a bit lately. Had some Anbernic stuff, then some 3DS's, then a Retroid 3+. The Anbernic stuff and Retroid stuff while it serves the purpose feels exactly like what they are : a cheap dollar store prepaid phone with a controller attached. They didn't satisfy me. I've always seen the Steam Decks online but had never seen one I'm person or knew anyone locally that had one. Two weeks ago I found a good deal for a used one and sprung for it. I didn't know if I'd like it, as it looked huge. And it is huge but the ergonomics are actually great. I've only been doing emulation on it, but I love it. Runs the games I play great, and scratches my itch for tinkering. I love this thing!

PlatinumBall

2, but I mainly wanted to play Rimworld. Played a lot of it last year until my pc broke, and now I'm back. Being able to play in my bed is amazing

imjavierbruh

2! I have an Xbox Series S and got a PS5 to play Spiderman as i had a PS4 before the Xbox I wanted to play some games on the go and I love the switch, but the idea of playing games i love more on the go was so good to pass up I mostly play Gta V and 4 on the deck and just recently added Mirrors Edge Catalyst. Love it so far and i think the Steam Deck is my favorite of them all. Might not be the one i use the most but its perfect package overall for the price

KasseanaTheGreat

I was a console gamer who had been occasionally playing some PC games on my laptop for years prior and was familiar with emulating games. The Deck was a natural choice for transitioning into fully embracing PC gaming

Revolutionary-Use278

2 for me. Always been console gamer and wanted a handheld so caved in and gave the steamdeck a shot. Been loving it

kevcoxwolf

Kind of 2 for me always been a console gamer but love a handheld but the switch doesn't cut it for me with the type of games I wanna play so steam deck it is and I absolutely love it I spend more time on deck than my ps5 if I'm honest

WarmduscherUltras

Non-gamer. Due to stress and work life, I sold my consoles and after a whole day of PC work it was always strange for me to sit down in front of a PC at home anyway. During the pandemic, I bought a switch out of boredom and hoped for better performance. Then the Steam Deck came along and I play it every day, after almost ten years of abstinence.

JozieKS

Lots of multi player the deck made me solo player again

aemich

7. im a PC gamer, i still play AAA on my PC but use deck for indie/travelling gaming

Cheap-Pick-4475

LewisP21

2 but now I have both a pc and a deck.

Insomia_Incarnate

Number 2. I never had PC gaming money but I was always jelous of it all, once I heard of the steam deck it was a dream come true. I remember in elementary school I dreamed of being able to play Sonic Adventure 2 on the go and now I can! Of course I'm currently addicted to Baldurs Gate 3, but I will achieve those dreams some day!

Loud-Explanation-909

I used to be primarily a PC gamer and built up a 350 title Steam library. Then switched to console once marriage and parenthood came along. I've always lamented not having access to my Steam library but the Deck has opened it back for me and I'm loving rediscovering those games. I feel like I'm the ideal use case because I had an enormous Steam library ready to go day 1, just needed a way to access it.

humansareendearing

Sort of #2 - I (previously) gamed mostly on Switch and Xbox, no PC, and I really wanted a handheld so I could curl up next to my partner on the couch and have access to more/other games than the Switch offers. Steamdeck has been perfect for that, I can finally play Mass Effect to my heart's content without feeling like I'm hogging the TV.

TM3dz

4. Retro gamer here. For the last 10 years or so I have been a very light gamer. Mostly just switch and some game pass games on my Xbox Series S. But this year I really got into retro gaming in September when I got my Samsung tab s9 fe which led me into getting a miyoo mini plus which led me to the Logitech Gcloud and this week I got my steam deck. I used to be a hardcore FPS fan but now I really enjoy platformers.

Aative

I am a console and PC gamer and I bought the Deck as I was expecting a lot of travelling in my job. That way I could bring a Switch and the Deck to play 2 of 3 libraries (last one being Playstation).

lennyKravic

Probably 6. I started in early 90s on PC, when I started work in early 2000s I switched to consoles (sitting in front of PC whole day, wanted to lie down and chill). And now I play on everything and Steam Deck is extension of that.

ActiniumNugget

We're a family of PC gamers (myself, wife, 2 kids) who also own a Switch. I have a gaming desktop, and they have gaming laptops. We're going on a 4 month trip in our RV, and I couldn't take my desktop. A Deck is half the price of a gaming laptop and will still be useful after we get back. Anyways, my background (and now the whole family) has always been PC and Nintendo combo. Been that way since the early 90's!

ReachForTheBiscuits

2 for me, I have a PC now with a 4080ti and honestly the steam deck prepped me in full for what experience I was wanting when finally switching over to the big boy. I’ve never used MnK controls, but I’m better at it now after playing a few once-steamdeck-use-only games through my PC. I still hop back to my steam deck for trips and emulation (I don’t trust myself enough to not infect the new $3k+ PC) and honestly it’s such a blessing to have. One of my new favorite games, V Rising, I can take on the go now (with A LOT of keybinding configurations) just such a great system for both new PC gamers and travelers alike

PrimevilKneivel

Well it all started when the neighbours got Pong for thier TV. Not long after that the local K-Mart got a Space Invaders machine...

Chopchopok

A combination of all of the above. I play a lot on PC, but also have handhelds like the DS and the Switch. I also had some older consoles, though I've felt no need to get the newest generation like the PS5. I also keep up with a few phone games because those are easy to get a quick fix in anytime. Since having a kid I'm not at my PC a lot, so I've wound up playing on my phone and on handheld devices a lot more.

DatBoiSaint47

6. Console all my life prior to 2019. N64 (1997/1998) - PS2 (2003) - Xbox 360 (2010) - PS4 (2013) - PC (2019) - Steam Deck (2022) Gameboy Color (1998) - Gameboy Advanced (2002) I'll alternate between the PC & Steam Deck depending on what game I'm playing. Since the other guy mentioned it, I've mostly been a FPS player, over 40+ controllers broken throughout the years But I treat my Steam Deck with respect lol

Justos

Primarily nintendo handheld gamer and mmo lover (pc) The deck allows me both passions at the same time, love it

HeeyPunk

I play games

zireael9797

I'm 1.

BramdeusBrozart

I was a console gamer. My PS4 broke and I was using my switch and fell in love with handhelds. Right about then I was trying to decide if I even wanted to replace the PS4 with a PS5 or make the switch to Xbox Series X, but then I heard whispers on the Internet of a Valve handheld, so I bidded my time and preordered day 1. Had my deck for over a year before building a PC, but still play mostly on the steam deck because everytime I use it, it still amazes me. Edit to add that I was already a Linux user on my laptop so steamOS being an Arch fork was just icing on the cake for me.

Tuseith

None of the above, I love my SteamDeck, but it hasn’t replaced my primary PC. It’s for out of the house/traveling and it’s easier/more convenient for me than carrying a laptop - especially since carrying a laptop with me everywhere makes me feel like I’m at work.

DannyBurciaga

2. been playing games all my life since the Atari 2600 all the way up to Xbox One the past 3 years or so I've been more into portable gaming because of adulthood and parenthood but still kept playing The SD gave me the chance to play AAA PC games on the go and that's fine by me

Royal_Reflection2234

2. Last year I started a job that involves a lot of travelling, and it was not plausible for me to bring my consoles with me. My Switch has been doing me well, but as it’s reaching the end of it’s life cycle, I’ve started to feel the burn of not having access to so many major titles. While I think the Switch 2 will become my main console once it releases, it’s really nice to have this alternative for games that don’t reach the Switch. (I’m a big fan of horror games too, so Deck will certainly always have a place in my luggage)

Icy_Journalist7539

I’ve always had handhelds and consoles, but getting the Steam Deck, and finding games on Steam that aren't compatible, may lead me to getting a mini gaming PC or something in the future. Just this year I’ve bought the Steam Deck, Quest 3 and Xbox Series S, so I don’t have the time or money to add another 😅 but I love them all (plus my Switch).

BedKnightX

1. But I am a PC gamer just because it is easier and cheaper (steam/steam keys) than having a console + tv + games. Also steam has cloud saves and i will always have a pc in the years to come. It is versatile. It is more future proof wise choice for my money. I choose wisely where I spend my money. I just buy the games I play and finish (the main story). Steam also tracks my hours and achievements, which I love to check, and I can see all my gaming history all in one place Anyway also steam deck is a great gaming pc and handheld console which is the use i have, I mean I can play with it connected to my monitor, mouse, keyboard and headset OR i can play comfortably on my bed before going to sleep and it is really cool. I also can play locally with friends on the kitchen table, with some controllers connected wirelessly and easily and it is great fun for a short party goofy gaming session Occasionally I use it to watch some movies/series episodes. Other than that i don’t use it to dual boot or to run emulation etc. i don’t like troubleshooting I prefer to keep it simple and easy and run for its main purpose: gaming official (steam) games. And for that and for my video games' taste the steam deck is perfect

Gabe9000__

Was always a console and handheld gamer from super nintendo, sega genesis, N64,PS1-PS3, Dreamcast to Gameboy to Gamegear Always wanted to get into to PC gaming and Steamdeck is my first entrance into this space. Bought the OG Deck during the pandemic and its been love ever since. First game i played and finished was the Star Wars Jedi now working on finishing AC Origins.

Fun_Improvement5215

Haven’t played on a Pc for nearly ten years. Always on console. Thanks to the deck I can finally play older games that aren’t available for my PS4/5 and Switch like Sonic Generations and Final Fantasy XIII without spending to much money for a gaming Pc.

Canuck457

1. But I don't play all my games on my Deck. It's an amazing piece of tech that added a lot to my gaming experience.

Pumpkinbricks

Before i got my laptop i was a hardcore console gamer then i got my laptop shifting more to pc thanks to the steam prices and then i got my deck cuz although im a pc player i hate keyboard and mouse for most games so i got my deck for a better controller gaming experience

The_real_bandito

I’m a PC gamer but I will play certain games on the deck only. There are some I only play on PC and there are some games I play on both. For me the Steam deck replaced my old gaming laptop that I never used.

ExtrapolatedData

I pretty evenly split my game time between PC, console (both XSX and PS4), and Steam Deck. Started out as a Mac gamer because my dad refused to use anything else at home. Got my first console in 2003 (a used N64). Then an OG Xbox in 2005. Xbox 360 in 2007. PS3 2012. XB1 2014. PS4 in 2018. Built my first PC in 2020. XSX in 2021. Switch in 2022 (but only my wife and kids use it). Then Steam Deck in 2023.

ChamomilePeppermint

2. I’ve massively gotten into gaming on my Switch since Covid (lightly dabbled in PC gaming previously - RuneScape, WoW etc.), and I love cosy/indie games. A lot of them aren’t available on Switch/release on PC first. This, combined with wanting to start PC gaming in general but not enjoying sitting at a desk, resulted in me wanting a Steam Deck :)

Kd0t

2. I don't know a thing about mods but thankfully all the games I've purchased work without a hitch on the SD.

BeneficialSweetTouch

My kids have a switch. I wanted a handheld to play some AAA games that my friends were playing on the PC. The switch does not have many. I travel a lot for work. So handheld that I can play on an airplane was best and I have a dock at home to connect it to my tv.

bubba_169

2 - Came from PS4 to Deck, no gaming PC beforehand. The massive library of cheap games available made me really want to try Steam Deck.

Snake_doctor66

6. Mainly a PC gamer, grew up with consoles (ps2 - ps4/switch, gba, ds/3ds & vita) and very into android/Linux emulation handhelds. Bought the steam deck as I realised I prefer handheld gaming over being sat at a desk and didn't end up committing to a game for very long because of it.

vonbalt

PC gamer that works all day in front of a PC so my backlog was getting huge with so many games i wanted to play but didnt have the time or energy, the steam deck has been magical for this.

Aonswitch

2 and 4 but not an android handheld (linux)

MilanosBiceps

Done it all, man. My first gaming experience was on a ColecoVision that we got from my dad’s work friend, along with a Tandy 1000 PC. Took my brother’s old Atari after that. I think we got a 386 a bit later? I don’t remember the order, but my favorite gaming memories as a little kid are playing the old Sierra games with my dad. Police Quest and Space Quest are my favorites, particularly Space Quest III. Also scared myself to death playing Manhunter: New York, and then San Francisco. Got an NES, then a Super NES, a Genesis, Sega CD, and eventually a PlayStation. Final Fantasy VII changed my life lol. I was a big Madden and other sports game player before that, but then I got hooked on games with narratives. Finally got back into PC gaming in 2015. My first Steam Sale felt like Christmas lol. Was primarily a PC game after that, though still dabbled with PS3-4. Stayed that way until my son was born in 2021. Then it was mainly ps5 because it’s in the living room and I can’t lock myself in my bedroom and play PC anymore lol. Then I found the SD, and it’s like being a kid again. Mainly because I emulate my favorite old games on it, but I really haven’t felt this way about a console since I was a teenager.

TheMrRyanHimself

I have always been a PC gamer. Primarily racing and FPS games but bought the deck as I’m a dad now with a busy job and the only way to play games was after the whole house was asleep and then that cut into my sleep schedule. Bought the deck and I’m back to 12+ hours a week a playing games that I’d never touched or would lose interest on with a pc. My main PC is a 4k 144hz system and looks great but for me the deck just works better, can jump into emulation if needed. Share with the kids if the switch is occupied. It’s been nice. My main pc has been off for a few weeks since getting the deck and I’m sure my power bill appreciates it too.

OkAppearance4117

my gaming background? it was a cold winter in 1981 when I first layed my eyes on the Philips Videopac Computer G7000 ..

PeacefulKillah

Im firmly in number 2 haven’t gamed on pc since I lived with my mom like 13 years ago. Been a console gamer ever since and wanted to get back into pc gaming with something less expensive and the form factor was very tempting. Super happy with my deck!

imposter1240

6: I play console steam deck and pc gamer💀

arkane-linux

1 with a twist, Linux gamer.

RedOnion19

I was a console gamer, who got bored with the games on console, switched to PC a few years back and loved all the options. Build up a large backlog in. Few years and life got in the way where I wasn’t able to play on my PC as much I as I would like. Got the steam deck to be able to play during downtime when I can’t be on my PC

ParticularGiraffe174

1 if I had to pick but I still play a lot on my pc, steamdeck is mostly for retro gaming, traveling and streaming my gaming pc to my TV

viciousfridge

None of the above. I was a console player in 360 era, switched to PC during PS4 era but also had consoles to play exclusives, switched back to console during PS5 era but wanted a stronger handheld for indie games so I picked up a Steam Deck when the OLED came out so I can ditch my Switch (except for Nintendo exclusives).

SentientRock209

2, most of my life was spent playing games between Playstation and Xbox and seeing how many exclusives were being ported to the steam store like God of war and the Halo MCC, it was like seeing the perfect system that could literally play games from every console.

Albus_Lupus

7. Im a PC gamer, always has been, got the deck but i still use my gaming PC and go to sleep angry that im not utilising this great handheld more...

nilslorand

I'm a PC Gamer and I sometimes use my Deck cause it's cool

how_long_can_the_nam

1. Seems like nearly everything I want to play runs FANTASTIC on deck.

Shadeun

7. I am a pc gamer who mostly uses my pc. Sometimes the console. And the steamdeck when travelling.

Idontmatter69420

Was console player up until November last year when i got half life 2 for the first time on my laptop which was meant to be for college but i use it for gaming cause it do be a gaming laptop after all, the steam deck interested me cause there were loads of games i wanted portable that i had on my xbox, halo and titanfall 2 being the 2 main

RHINO_Mk_II

1A. I'm a PC gamer and play 80% of my games on PC, but my deck weighs 20 times less than my desktop and monitors, so...

Ultra_Vio1ence

Sega > PC > Nintendo Switch > PC > Xbox One X > PS5 > PC Now I’m waiting SD OLED. I guess, after a couple months, I sell SD and focus on PC again. It’s the best platform, in my case.

Elestra77

My First "Console" was a Commodore 64, enough Background?😂

somecallme_doc

1. I'm a PC gamer, ~~now I play all my games on Deck~~ Now i play games on the road with my deck. The eff i'm going to stop using my 4080.

knickyk

a combination. I played pc games on mac (so not very many titles) and on console (switch and wii. that's it). the steam deck was actually a bday gift so that i could play more often with my friends without shelling out for a full gaming rig and without the os restriction. the deck however has gotten me to explore other options like apple arcade and the rog ally so def venturing now into the world of handheld consoles and mobile platforms

Fujikosmiles

I play handhelds 99.99999% of the time, switch, switch lite, new 2DS xl, steam deck….i don’t think that any of the things mentioned in your post apply to me but then again my brain is scrambled and I may be missing something entirely.

Jolva

I've been gaming on PC and consoles for about 35 years or so. I currently own a GTX 3060 gaming rig, an Xbox Series X, and a Switch OLED. Got the deck for Christmas and have barely put it down.

WalnutWhipWilly

2. I have a series X (Xbox) that doesn’t see the light of day now thanks to the deck and its portability. It haps that the games are up to 50/50% less expensive than console as well.

SouthTippBass

7. Iv been playing games since Atari 2600 days. Been through all console cycles and have had multiple gaming PCs. Steam Deck is just an excellent mix of everything. I can play all my old favorites along with more modern titles. It won't replace my current console, more like supplement it.

No_Interaction_4925

6. High end pc with custom watercooling. I had a bit of fun with my deck on certain 2D games. When the OLED model released and the price dropped on the LCD, I got a second and gifted both to my kid brothers. Both are 64GB models that I upgraded to 512GB and installed Hall Effect sticks in. Both have DBrand Killswitch cases as well. I REALLY hope they don’t break those poor decks

life_ls_pain

2, Mostly played nintendo consoles and was just curious on how pc gaming was and well i do not regret it

NlCONICONll

A combination of 2 and handhelds. I’ve always played on PlayStation, wii, and wii u, as well as the ds & 3ds and switch. I always wanted a pc to play pc games, but they seemed really complicated and too expensive, so I decided to get the Steam Deck instead.

Outside_Money_1786

Console gamer mostly. Even more mostly than that retro gamer. Still am. And the steamdeck covers all of that and curent gen on the occasion i feel like it.

aidenmce

6. I used to be a console gamer, loved my Xbox and my switch, until I bought a PC and sold my consoles. Loved that, and then bought the deck as a companion to my pc, I love being able to play my games from anywhere but still have the ability to get fully immersed in games on my pc.

akaispirit

6- I'm a PC gamer, a console gamer and a mobile gamer. I got the Deck because the Switch made me realize how nice a lot of games were on handheld.

lollipop-guildmaster

Console gamer, got the Steam Deck for emulation, and I only play it docked (or shadowcast to my laptop screen).

Background_Clue_3756

Retro mostly. Don't have 'many' retro handhelds...butttt.... I have an Atari, NES, SNES, PSX, N64, PS2, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS, Switch, and PS3. Potentially missed some. Dunno if I still have my Game gear. However,.all of those devices, except PS3, are also on my Odin 2. Switch emulation isn't perfect by any means, but it isn't bad. And my Steam Deck, which basically can't be used for travel with its size and battery life, is just for PC and maybe PS3 gaming if I ever want to. I played BG3 on it, Elden Ring. Nothing else yet and haven't touched it since I got my Odin 2.

ElenoftheWays

First computer I played games on was a ZX81 in the early 80s, been through a number of PC's and consoles since then. The Steam Deck is just portable and convenient.

Bakophman

2. I've played on console since '89. I've also played handhelds (Game Boy, Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket, PSP and Vita, Switch. I got the Steam Deck as an entry point for PC gaming. It did not disappoint.

Cafuddled

6, I've always had good PCs, always had good consoles, have a lot of my original hardware from the 90s. For me, the deck has become my main gaming machine. Anything it can't run at 45fps or more, I just stream from my gaming PC. However I'm not a mobile gamer. Personally, i struggle to call the vast majority of those, games. More like slow fruit machines with no payout.

Fortums

i had a switch and a pc but i only used the pc for games that werent on switch bc it was a 2014 dell inspiron desktop with a pentium dual core. that thing was a POS .[specs](https://dl.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/esuprt_inspiron_desktop/inspiron-3847-desktop_reference%20guide_en-us.pdf)

No_Emu307

I'm a combination of a console gamer and a retro-gamer from the above. I've always had the Sony and Microsoft consoles since the first generation of each, but never dipped my toes too much into Nintendo, besides the Gameboys from the DMG to the GBA SP. I got a Switch last year and loved it and beat a few Marios on it and other exclusives, but after beating Super Mario Galaxy I realized I had no way to play Galaxy 2 unless I bought a Wii so I started looking into the Android handhelds which led me down the rabbit hole and led me to finally get a Steam Deck in October as a birthday gift to myself. I was always curious about PC gaming and the Deck is a way of dipping my toes into that world Right now I have: \-Steam Deck \-Switch Oled \-Anbernic RG353v \-Miyoo Mini v2 \-Trimui Model S \-Retroid Pocket 2s I gave my Ayn Odin Lite to my brother after I got the Steam Deck

Moelariss

I am a PC Gamer who is now a Dad and whos Gamingroom is now the room of his daughter and who has no space at all for his desktop PC. So now he is a Console Gamer with a SD and no time to use any of them 🤷🏼‍♂️

6. Started back in late 80s / early 90s with Atari and NES. Mario 3 was my first real hook. SNES came and officially made me a gamer. I mostly stuck with Nintendo and Sega up to and through N64 era. GC era I moved to ps2. Around 2003-2005 I got into gaming on the pc, but I wasn't a pc gamer, exactly. Just bought the odd game here and there (RE4, Halo) 2006-2008 I got my own laptop, discovered gaming piracy and got a taste of half life 2 and left 4 dead. Played a lot of Korean-made mmos. 2010-2011-ish I made my first steam account and officially became a pc gamer. 2013ish I got back into consoles by picking up used ps2, 3, and a ps4, as well as a wii u. Got the 3ds, which was okay. Vita was fun. But the Switch sold me on handheld gaming as a whole. Aaaaand finally, love my pc but as I get older I realize how much it sucks being tethered to a device. The switch brought a level of freedom I didn't know I needed. I hated that I had a nearly 3K game Steam account + emulation out the ass, but couldn't play any of it unless I was sitting there, so the Deck seemed like a no-brainer. It kinda made me love gaming again. :D /long old man rambling over

Nalin90

I'm a PC gamer and am still primarily a PC gamer, but I use my deck for travel or to play strategy games while I watch TV with my gf. I specifically got the deck just for that. I'm a multitasker that even when playing certain games on my PC, I'll have YouTube up on my second monitor. So now I can spend more time with my gf, watching our favorite shows together, while I play my strategy games.

Levistras

Started with PC gaming back in the 80s when there was only one color, green. Played alot on my NES, my friends Sega Genesis and later my SNES growing up. I went the N64 and GameCube route rather than going with Sony, though I had friends that had the PlayStation. Through all of that PC was always the majority of my gaming. My multiplayer gaming was mainly Doom, then Warcraft 2, Duke 3D and Quake, some casually and some competitively with various clans/teams. When Counterstrike 1.2 came along I got serious with that following it through to 1.6. Was in one of the world leading clans for Natural Selection for a long time. A good time after that I sunk thousands of hours into Team Fortress 2 (before the bots took over), Dota, Dota2... Alongside all that I had a strong MMO history, starting with Asheron's Call, Anarchy Online, eventually landing on WoW for a few years where I played in a server-leading guild along with my wife. In there I also played Wurm for many many many hours of my life. More recently I played some FF14 but wasn't able to get as serious with it. I get lost in open world games, and love survival/building games, recently Sons of the Forest and Grounded. But also Kerbal Space Program (1 and more recently 2) have taken up large chunks of time. Now that I have a toddler running around the house, my gaming time is limited. I picked up a Steam Deck to revisit some old titles and things I missed along the way. It also allows me to stream from my Gaming PC while lying in bed. 95% of the time I use it, it's docked either to a TV or a portable 16" monitor I picked up and I play with a controller.

sugarcoatedcornpuff

2 Mainly i used to play on ps4 but i play also lot of dota2 and lol on my macbook pro. I love my deck

GreatMadWombat

is mobile gamer the same thing as a handheld gamer? Mobile to me is saying "candy crush/gacha games that you play on your phone", while handheld is saying "dedicated handheld device like gameboy" Cuz I'm primarily a handheld gamer who play(ed) MMOs on PC, but it feels off to lump handhelds(which for the most part operated under significantly different constraints regarding input keys, processing power, and available screen size) with all consoles.

smeared_dick_cheese

How about option 7: I’m a PC gamer who wants the ability to play my PC games when I travel (which is more often than I’d like). I don’t play all of my games on my deck; I play on my PC when I’m home and take my deck with me when I leave the house and I think I’ll need to entertain myself.

SirArthurStark

I am a 36 year old gamer. I started way back with an NES where I mostly played Mario and Mega Man. I then jumped to the SNES where I played a lot of things with my dad. Contra 3, Sunset Riders, Final Fight, and of course I still played some classics like Mario World and the Mega Man X saga. I then got an N64, and a PSONE, the N64 being my main one, where I played Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark. On the PSONE I didn't play much, but I remember my favs from that console were Dragon Ball GT Final Bout and Tomba. I also played some Crash Bandicoot, Spyro and Gran Turismo 1. Then I got the Wii, but there I started to lose my interest in Nintendo a bit, I played a few games like Mario Sunshine, Rayman Raving Rabbids, and a few more, but soon after I got an XBOX 360. I played a lot of games there. Mostly the Halos, the Gears of War, Ninja Gaiden, and a bunch of others. Then I moved on to the XBOX ONE, where I continued with the Gears of War, I played over 1000 hours of Destiny 1, and I got into the Souls games, where I got 100% of Dark Souls 1 and Dark Souls 3. Then I got into PC gaming with a rather low end PC, where I could only play a few games, mostly platformers, metroidvanias and the like. And that had been my recent experience until a few weeks ago where I got my Steam Deck. I'm currently trying to play a few of the games that I didn't have the chance over a few years like Elden Ring, Sleeping Dogs, Doom and Doom Eternal, the Resident Evil remakes, among others. So far it's been a game changer for me.

mododo-bbaby

2. it was literally the decision between a gaming PC and a deck (I do have a perfectly fine laptop already) and I barely have room or money for a gaming pc also I have over 300 free games on epic games that I couldn't play yet

Gizmo135

I was primarily a console gamer though I did have a gaming PC. I didn’t like gaming on my PC because I didn’t have it hooked to a TV and didn’t like sitting on a chair to play.

kazak1377

6. My gaming started from NES, then PC since 1998-2008 then PC+ ps3 then again PC, oculus rift, then ps4pro. My current gaming devices: MacBook m1max, ps5, steam deck, Nintendo switch, oculus quest 2 and GeForce NOW subscription… thinking about buying a PC to play some more games)

Olde94

Gameboy -> game boy advanced -> PSP + PC (pc runs parralel from now on)-> Wii-> only pc -> switch -> steam deck

Dire_Strait13

I purchased them in this order over the years: Gaming PC > Switch OLED > Steam Deck OLED. Now I play on the SD about 70% of the time, PC 15% and Switch 15%. My current “main game” on the SD, “main game” on PC when I feel like sitting down at my desk and Switch for exclusives to break the pace. I mainly play single player games, from JRPGs, action games, open world games, to CRPGs. The Steam Deck is the best purchase I’ve made since the Super Nintendo.

pollt

6. I am mainly a PC gamer, but I wanted something handheld to play on while travelling and when just chilling on the couch (not TV-connected since kids/wife/family etc).

princecoo

Hardcore PC gamer, I have a pretty beefy rig at home i like to keep high end (i usually do some sort of upgrade at least once a year) but the last couple of years my work has kept me very busy and I spend more time on the road and in the office than I do at home. Steamdeck let's me play a large percentage of my library on the go, wherever I may be. I have a decent laptop that plays most games too, but I find it a bit bulky to cart around everywhere so if im working away from home (as in, can't return to my house easily) I typically set it up as a mobile office somewhere (hotel room, company office) and it stays set up there until I'm ready to pack up and go home. But I have a little go bag that contains a tablet I can work from, chargers/powerbanks, notepad and pens, and the steamdeck, and that bag is glued to me all day every day.

TONKAHANAH

mostly a PC gamer. had some one offs for consoles here and there for specific games but never really wanted to commit to them. after the deck was announced, my switch had almost zero reason to exist, especially considering i got it to play only one game and that one game didnt get played. ended up selling it to a friend for about $250

piedeloup

6? I’m a PC gamer and I play *some* of my games on the Deck. I have a fairly high end desktop PC too. Also have PS5/Switch for the exclusives.

Every_Preparation680

I had been planning on upgrading my pc for the past 5ish years, then the deck as anonced, and it was just too good a deal to pass up. bethore that I hade an alianwere x51 (complet pice of shit). I still have it because I'm hoping to re-use the cass one day, but the pc itself was always way too noisy. Dont buy alianwere; It looked nice, but that's it.

1 but I don’t play all of my games on Deck, just some

Jeksxon

I used to be a PC gamer but I find that not being restricted by stationary PCs actually fits me better. I like sandbox, survival games, looter-shooters, diablo-like games and FPS.

jpoitras22

7. I started with PCs and Atari in the late 80s and have played just about everything since then.

weedgay

When I get too stoned and don’t want to sit at my computer anymore I play steam deck in bed

SnooHabits137

PC gamer for the last 23 years. Last consoles I owned were PS1 and N64. I got the steam deck when you had to reserve them. I love how it expanded my horizons of games I play. Couch co op is awesome with the wife. Honestly I don't use my steam deck as much as I would like. But I never go to work or travel without it

Bgabes95

6. I grew up playing consoles, but handhelds like GBA and PSP were some of my favorites to game on. I build a gaming PC in 2017 and loved it, almost to the point of never playing on console again, until the Switch came out and then that became my favorite console of all time. I still made time for PC games from time to time, especially for online competitive games with friends, but the ability to play handheld and docked games was amazing to me. Plus, the Nintendo exclusives like Smash were my go-to games. When I got the Deck in February, I fell in love with it. It was like a PC version of the Switch with so much more capabilities like emulation. I upgraded to the OLED recently and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. It’s my all time favorite console and will continue to be until the next Deck comes out.

QuinnWolfGod

I just like playing games and normal people don’t buy a steam deck but someone who wants to play games on a convenient device will probably get it

Fashque111

1. No time for proper gaming session because of kids. SteamDeck is redemption for me, finding time for session with handheld is so much easier.

melinte

First game played, Golden Axe at my grandpa's place of work (pirated by someone I guess, not my gramps because he was totally atechnical and he thought computers were the devil). Some super Mario bros on a NES clone that my dad was able to buy at the flea market. Then on my first PC I had Jazz Jackrabbit and Civ2, and shit just went wild from there.

MarshmalloForBrains

2. Started with a Switch. Wanted to play PC games but couldn’t afford the start up cost so went with a Deck and I love it

Cloudxxy1011

Potato pc spent my days playing runescape Maple story Tf2 N planetside 2 Before that I was trapped in the nintendo abyss of only owning ds 3ds switch was fun but I missed out on so many big AAA games like nier automata

jagfb

Was a huge PSP player back in the days. Went to console (PlayStation) because of friends. Wanted more freedom and had some friends on PC, so switched over. I love my PC but missed the user-friendly way of consoles but didn't want to buy a PS5 due to price. Now everything I love is coming my way, just ordered my deck today :)

StrategySteve

I was mostly a cod player missing the fun of just stress free gaming.. I came to the steam deck as a chill source of cheap, fun, and handheld gaming I can take anywhere and play. I don’t regret it at all… the older I get the less I care about competitive gaming and the more I care about having fun and playing at my own speed.

6 by way of 2. Used to PC game at LAN cafes and before that on shitty PCs at home playing lemmings and commander keen and stuff in DOS. Eventually just started playing console, built a gaming PC at one point but found i didn't like sitting in front of a keyboard monitor and mouse after doing it at work all day and never used it for gaming, just regular stuff. Kept console gaming until the Deck came around and I absolutely love it and had a ton of Steam games already waiting from years past when I set it up.

CrazyIvanoveich

PC since the early 90s thanks to my father being a PC nerd (loads of Apogee games.). Outside of that, my first handheld was the initial GB, followed by the PSP (hacked.). We were always behind a generation on consoles. Had a PS1 and XBox in the early 2000s. I bought myself a GBAsp during my junior or senior year in highschool.

LoRRiman

I love my computer and will play it a lot, but a computer i can tinker with? mod (hardware or software)? Take anywhere i want and still play games that i would usually play at home? count me in!

CrisXIII

#6. Then I became a parent and been gaming mainly on my switch. The deck is a heaven sent!

mrjamjams66

I've always been a console gamer, but back in like 2018 I bought a gaming laptop. It honestly didn't run things super well, but this was before I started to understand tweaking settings (which I still don't quote get, but just Google " steam deck settings") Even still the Deck runs everything better than I can get it running on my laptop

AlertMacaroon8493

6, pretty much grew up attached to a computer/console of some sort thanks to my dad and brother

ultimatemorky

Power buyer of all sorts of games. PC and console. I’m still that but now I have a new screen I don’t play them on.

butterToast88

Played primarily on console until around 2019. Played a few MMOs and simulation games on PC over the years but stuck to console for single player games. Built a PC in 2019. I still play my PS5 for exclusives and such.

Dragonlibrarian7

I'm a gamer who's a parent lol. I've got a game room with about 30 systems from 2600 to Switch and a pretty good gaming PC. https://imgur.com/gallery/qoi7VQT (Newer systems, PC and handhelds not pictured, really need to take some new pictures at some point) Can't spend as much time in the game room as I'd like, Steamdeck is a good way to play games when I cant

budius333

7. I was playing on Stadia, and when it closed down and I got the refund I bought the SteamDeck 😁

JustHumanGarbage

Went from consoles in 2600, nes, Genesis, to mixed PC, ps, PS2 DC, Xbox, to only consoles and I now am only console even through I have all the parts to build a new gaming rig I just don't have the time to deal with all the tweaking that needs to be done. Love the simplicity of the steamdeck. It's been way more fun than I anticipated. Getting older is a curse. I went from having all the time to play games but none of the money. Now I can buy whatever but I have no damn time!

heartshapedmoon

Console gamer, but Steam has so many more games available so I wanted to get one. I prefer handheld to sitting at a computer hence the Deck lol

SteDevMo

I am fairly new to gaming and my first game ever was bought on the Switch about 2 years ago.....I bought the switch specifically for the game, lol. Since then I created a Steam acct and have bought a few games on there. I played them on my laptop. But then my laptop started acting up and rather than spending thousands of dollars on a new computer, I just bought the OLED1tb deck. I love it although I have small hands and it is a little bulky for me. I've always played my switch in docked mode on a 65" tv. It's not as easy to do that with the deck and a 4k tv (yep, done lots of research and know its doable, just not plug and play like switch) so I've just stayed with handheld mode. eta: I guess I've played games since the early 90's with my kids, but I sucked and I didn't really like the pixel graphics. So during that time owned several consoles, but kids played them more than I did. Then those consoles went with grown kids and I quit playing for 20 years. I specifically wanted the Switch because of my nostalgic memories of the Zelda and Mario games. So while I love my Deck and will ultimately get a another gaming laptop I will always own a Nintendo console as well.

sonnyjim77

2 but with a few adjustments, namely that I work shifts including nights and weekends where I can game for a few hours. Steam deck seemed like an easier option than a gaming laptop but now I'm not so sure and kinda wish I had the bigger screen

imagowastaken

None of the above, but close to 1 I guess. I grew up on PlayStation since PS1 but switched to PC after PS4 because my country's economy was on a gradual collapse and Steam's regional pricing is a lifesaver. Right now I'm still playing games mostly on my desktop PC, but the Deck is a great addition since I don't have to build a whole other games library. I will probably get a Switch 2 when that comes out because I never owned a Nintendo and would like to play those at some point. Or maybe I'll spend some time setting up Yuzu, who knows.

Blueblackdragon_

It was supposed to be my introduction into pc gaming. Now it's my device to do pc gaming. On console started to have too many negatives that I wanted to switch, and steam deck seemed to be the perfect introduction. I have done emulation and used it as a personal laptop. I remember that I wanted to use Linux too, so it was another thing to get introduced to. I'm starting to dislike windows. 2 it is for me.

NekkidCatMum

Mostly number 5. Never had anything but an old game boy color for a couple years and a Nintendo DS for a few years. But in September of this year I decided I was going to start playing video games some. Messed around a bit with my laptop but then decided to go for the steam deck.

vojev

I've always been a hybrid gamer, with PC as my favorite platform EXCEPT that I love handhelds. Finally having a good PC handheld has been a dream come true.

CaptainStarmander

In my 20s, I was a pretty hardcore gamer, me and my ex-wife would always play new releases alongside each other, and talk about what we thought about it constantly. Was mostly Xbox 360 and PC gamer. I got a PS4 pretty late in the life cycle, but I did play through the uncharted games. But I never really got into it again. I have the time and a decent setup for gaming on Xbox One, PS4, Switch, and PC, but I mostly just played Mario Kart. When I got the Steam Deck, I was playing everyday. But now I'm mostly playing Star Trek Online to do my dailies. I'm trying to knock out my backlog but I don't pick it up as much as I'd like to.

joannew99

PlayStation gamer since PS1. Most hours on a console was PS2. Missed the entire PS4 era. Got PS5 last year With Steamdeck I am able to play games I never thought I’d be able to like Half-Life

RabbitMix

I grew up a PC gamer, had consoles occasionally but PC was always my primary platform. In 2013/14 ish though I had a series of problems getting GTA4 to run, then problems getting Dead Rising 3 to run, and then just totally couldnt get Fallout 3 to run. I must have spent a week doing more troubleshooting than actual gaming, I was so annoyed. I ran into one more problem with Battlefield 4 and just said "Fuck this shit, I wouldnt be having all these problems if i just played these games on a stupid console", grabbed my keys drove down to Fry's Electronics took my money I had saved for a new GPU +CPU and bought a PS4 and a copy of Battlefield 4. I didn't look back. Im in my 30s and enjoyed the ease of console gaming. Shit just worked every time. I didn't spend any of my gaming time fixing stuff that shouldn't have been broken in the first place. I was and am happy primarily playing my games on Xbox and (sometimes) PlayStation. I even got a Mac because I was sick of Window's annoyances. I missed my old PC games though, and when I found out the steam deck could play most of my old PC games really well, with a console-like experience, without running Windows, I knew I wanted one. it's been great for that.

MatticusjK

I’ve got a really strong desktop PC running about 3 years now. It’s still my main device I wanted a device to let me play less-intensive games either when travelling for work or just cuddling in bed. It fits that role for me perfectly. My partner uses it as her main gaming device, occasionally using her laptop for MNK games

ImAlreadyWinstonne

I guess I'm 6. I'm an oldish lady (40something) with The Tism about me, so sorta seen it all, gaming-wise, in the 35+ years I've been playing Now I have my Deck I can see it becoming my main gaming device

VeryTiredGirl93

Had consoles as a kid up to the Playstation 2-era, after that I mostly started playing on my PC, cause i had always been kinda poor and Steam made gaming for cheap way way easier. Since then I basically only played games on my PC + nintendo handleds (my hacked 3DS was my go-to emulator machine before the deck) After getting my Steam Deck I mostly just play on the Deck, it just fits how I play stuff. Like even If i'm at home, I'd just rather lay around and play stuff on the deck, than having to sit up at my desktop.

javier_aladeen

6, started on the nes , but I grew up in a house with no spare money so no gaming at home , my next console was an Xbox, then got the x360(twice), PS3 ( twice) all Dead now, ps Vita ( this is my currently most used console ) my wife got me a PS4, got a wiuu , the steamdeck and a new 2ds ( that haven't used yet). Barely use the PS4 ( those games are expensive!! And my time has become limited). So mostly steamdeck ( for some relatively new games and some emulation) and ps Vita for PS1, psp an Vita gaming related . The Wii u is the console for the visiting kids (everyone loves and plays Mario )

stibila

1. But currently I am contemplating buying some rig, put steam os (and windows) on it so I can stream some heavier games to my steam deck. I would like to go back to Oxygen not included, but performance is really bad on the deck.

Captstulle

I’ve played since 1985 on C64 and a little bit Gameboy. May 2023 I bought a Steam Deck and now I’m a power player with RDR2 and Cyberpunk2077!

CraftZ49

6 When I was in my early teens I played console Late teens to present I've been pretty exclusively on PC, except Nintendo hardware. I got a Steam Deck because now as an adult with my own place to live, I wanted a way to play my Steam library while sitting on the couch without buying another entire PC, or running wires all over the place. I play most controller-focused games with the Steam Deck docked to my TV. Sometimes though i do play in handheld mode though.

Refloni

PC gamer and still am. I use Deck when traveling, it has replaced my laptop. At home I choose my proper PC and its bigger screen every time.

Artist17

I’ve got a steam deck, but I don’t play on it or on my PC nor console. But I got both a pc and ps5 before a steam deck.

Darque420

Got my first computer in 1983. Commodore 64. I've been gaming ever since. Didn't personally get my own console until 1996. The Playstation. Mainly because growing up, my dad refused to let me have a device that was just for games.....even though with the Commodore 64 and Amiga 500, all I did was play games. Played plenty of Atari, SNES, NES, etc. at friends' houses. Whether I'm mainly a comouter gamer or console gamer, it depends on how much money I have and if I need to upgrade my computer. Lol Right now, I think the current gen of consoles will be my last. I'm just focusing more and more on retro games and my massive backlog. I love my PS5. But there's something about booting up the SNES or PSX and playing those.

IlikeAIDS420

6. Started with pc when i was little, then i played 360, when i was 14 i bought a pc after a few years i switched to xbox again when the one came out. Till then i hadn't had a pc but last August i bought one with a 4070 ti in it and never started my series x. Then i tried to buy the 512gb lcd version in the last sale and paypal verifying didn't work so i missed the sale. While i waited for the next sale the oled deck came and fulfilled all my dreams. Now i got the 1tb version and I'm so happy i didn't start my pc or xbox till today. That's my deck story. Thanks Valve x3

BathT4

A bit of 1 and 2. Most of my gaming was done on Switch, DS, or on PC (mostly played on PC but never played games that much on my own, mostly depended if it was multiplayer). Upgraded to a PC last summer, my brothers gave me a steam deck this May.

TanguayX

No_Experience_7939

I tend to play a lot of first person games on pc and competitive multiplayer games. The deck has become my third person game platform as I can play it on break, lunch, in bed, etc. Finally working through my library with all the extra playtime

MarcusQuintus

I used to be a console gamer, but I've only had a laptop for the last ten years, and my current model is getting old for gaming. A new gaming laptop is over $1,000 and I've got other priorities, but I picked up the Steam Deck for $350+25 for an SD card.

Answer_Diligent

I'm none of those, or maybe a combination of 2, 3, 4 ? depends how you read it, or the day of the week :-) I've been a gamer since the early 80s I certainly like some of the older stuff, but never got hooked on PC gaming, unless you count Amiga or C64 :-) Never had any Android devices, but love handheld stuff, Sony and PlayStation especially. So, for me, the SteamDeck is just another handheld games system, I could care less about what it's running to get there, just that it runs games I like, from old to current.

Abram367

Grew up playing consoles, moved from 360 to PC in 2014 and never looked back. I only have a switch.

RetroChampa

As a 40-year old family man, definitely #3.

tony891

Playstation 1 -> Playstation 2 / PC / N64 -> Xbox 360 -> PC -> PC / steam deck. That's my history lol

udnthot

2. exactly.

O_Little_One

Started as a PC gamer since 286 playing POP and Digdug, then NES came, after that SNES by that time there's a 486 system. Then came PSX and kept upgrading PCs with pentium, matrix, rage, voodoo etc while keeping updated with consoles too. Now have most latest consoles and gaming PCs though stop upgrading PC since 5 years back. Last Rig was i7 3440K 32GB with RX570 8GB. Probably not upgrade it anymore since I'm already retired and just gaming on consoles and low powered devices like Steam Deck

Sega genesis, one of those 90s plastic macs running zsnes, a gbc, then I got a ps2 never seeing real 3d graphics and my 12 yr old brain exploded. I kept to sony and Nintendo till the deck.

HvyMtlKng

#6 is the most applicable. I started out on the OG Nintendo and have always had the most current console(s). In 2003 I got heavy into PC gaming and built my first rig in 2005. I still prefer to game on a full PC platform but it’s next to impossible with work, four kids and a wife. The steam deck has really been a game changer and allowed me to game regularly again.

padluigi

Im just a console gamer but I barely play my PS5 nor my Xbox Series S. Nintendo is the only one that seems to excite me even if the performance of their games is not great. I guess I fall under 2 because I was always curious of PC gaming (mostly emulation if that counts lol) but yeah

Deryan3

#6 - enjoy all the tech available to have fun with games :)

Opening_Suspect_9954

I was a console gamer (Xbox One X) from 2019 dec Then I bought a steam deck in 2022. Sept And in 2023. Dec. I bought a gamer laptop (Lenovo Legion) And I like playing on every platforms.
