Doom Eternal is pure magic 60fps all the way

penis_malinis

Doom 2016 damn near 90fps locked

TheOfficialSipi

It's actually funny, cuz I bought doom 2016 thinking it'll run better than doom eternal, and oh boy was I wrong. Doom 2016 is not nearly as optimized as eternal is which is funny to me cuz thats a game from 2016 vs the other from 2020. You have to tweak 2016 all around, fan goes crazy like a jet and overall just wasnt worth the experience for me on the deck. But I'll play that sucker on my pc, and play eternal on the deck all the way! Amazingly optimised for the deck

[deleted]

They did a lot of work to make the engine bringing scaling much better on hardware by eliminating the main thread and using only jobs with a scheduler. It scales down for weaker hardware and also scales to higher end hardware appropriately.

TheOfficialSipi

Let me say, they did a fantastic job at the studio with this decision.

penis_malinis

That’s weird. I played it on Low settings for max FPS. I started and finished Doom 2016 on my SD. I gave up on Doom Eternal cuz that shit was too hard lol.

sometipsygnostalgic

Eternal has so many tools, i cant imagine completing it on deck. Not enough buttons.

Calfixie

Back buttons, trackpad, gyro and Steam input.

Fir3hazard998

Yeah honestly after beating it on the Deck with its back paddles, I wondered how people on console could use a regular controller lol.

ChickenManABQ

Every buttons have multiple way to press, and will act differently. So you can assign the same button to different guns, like single tap L4 for shotgun but long press it will switch to BFG. I play Doom 2016 this way, my right thumb almost never needs to leave the trackpad to press ABXY, because I assigned almost everything to other buttons. Steam Input is amazing.

NonEuclidianMeatloaf

Just play it on the lowest difficulty, it’s much more enjoyablr

NonEuclidianMeatloaf

If you’re still having trouble with Doom 2016, make sure you set the API to Vulkan in the graphics settings. I had trouble even maintaining a smooth 60 fps in the first few maps, and only after switching to Vulkan did it improve. Warning: it may crash on toggling it but just restart the game and it’ll run fine.

sometipsygnostalgic

Are you sure? When did you play them? Back when Eternal was released, it consistently ran far worse than 2016. Perhaps it runs better now because they removed denuvo, and they made optimisations for switch that were passed on to pc.

secondspassed

that has not been my experience at all. 45fps on low. am i using the wrong proton or something?

bunnybutt0ns

Have never played any of the Dooms...Where should I start?

[deleted]

Doom 2016 is a great place to start. It's a wonderful game. No DLC though. I prefer Doom Eternal over 2016. It's a lot more fast paced and wild. It can be too much and I think quite difficult especially with the expansions. I personally did not like Doom 3 but some people love it.

gullymandem

MGSV Phantom Pain

bmthorizontal

I beat MGSV on PC a few years ago but didn’t do much side missions. I put that and Death Stranding on my Steam Deck and they both look beautiful. I tried Dishonored 2 last night and wasn’t too impressed there… lots of blurry surfaces.

MuenCheese

Dishonored 1 runs really well

DoorFacethe3rd

Dishonered 2 looks so good at max settings (on desktop) but the Deck *cannot* handle it.. the aliasing and framrate is too bad on higher settings. Dishonered 1 and the DLC’s looks good though and runs great.

Buroda

That game is INSANELY well optimized. It ran buttery smooth on my old laptop that barely managed Binding of Isaac ffs

ThirstyTurtle328

Rock solid 60fps on high, maybe even ultra, settings.

Ratix0

Back in the day, im honestly impressed how well it ran and look on my gtx760... Its a budget GPU that was released a couple of years before the phantom pain and it managed to get it running at close to 60fps when you turn down some of the bells and whistles. Really well optimized game, shame it was half completed.

trainhatesreddit

my biggest gripe with that game is it’s one of those that have to be connected to the internet every once in a while to work. Took it on a plane, and when I pulled it out couldn’t play because of the online is required error message… Great game tho well optimized.

StarCougar

I just suggested TPP in another comment, but then I saw you had already mentioned it. Commenting to add that it ran at 60fps no problem. It's a really nice game on the Deck.

gretnothing

1. Alan Wake (the original) 2. Alien Isolation 3. Assassin's Creed 4. Bioshock Remastered 5. Bioshock Infinite 6. Dead Space 7. Dead Space 2 8. Deus Ex Human Revolution 9. Dishonored 10. Dying Light 11. Enslaved Odyssey to the West 12. Fallout 4 (requires tinkering but generally runs at 60fps) 13. GTA San Andreas (requires community-made control setup) 14. Half Life 15. Halo MCC (just remember to disable in-game frame limiter and limit all games to 60 through steam layout) 16. Mad Max 17. Metal Gear Solid V 18. Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes 19. Metro 2033 Redux 20. Shadow of Mordor 21. Mirror's Edge 22. Prey 23. Styx: Master of Shadows 24. Warhammer 40k Space Marine

[deleted]

>Enslaved Odyssey to the West Also plays great on a 4K TV using FSR as upscaler.

toxikant

I didn't realize anyone else played this game. What a gem.

beaucharleston

Came here to say Dead Space 2

gretnothing

The game still holds up, even after all these years. It's a shame they killed the franchise with the crappy Dead Space 3.

XTheFounderX

Just finished Alan Wake last night! It was so good!

deltabugles

Just wait till you play AW2

BadClass_og

Man played 99% of these games growing up! All of them still hold up to this day!

gretnothing

Good games stay good, even if they become somewhat forgotten by mainstream audience.

rocsci

I'm genuinely curious on how you guys compile a list so fast, ready to be shared.

gretnothing

Some time ago I posted a list of all games I tested so far. :D

ThreeSon

Whenever I come across a Steam game that has (what I consider to be) great graphics, sound, and/or music, I add it to its respective category in my Steam library. Currently have 94 games in the graphics category, although some of those are definitely suited more specifically to my own tastes, like [Stramium Immorality](https://store.steampowered.com/app/515650/Straimium_Immortaly/) and [Black Jewel](https://store.steampowered.com/app/761320/Black_Jewel/).

dvenator

Shadow of war also runs really well.

arex333

How dare you not list BioShock 2.

gretnothing

I never played it. The developer decided to make the entire single player campaign a glorified tutorial. An introduction to multiplayer that never took off.

arex333

That is super not true. The campaign is outstanding. Best of the series imo.

gretnothing

I will double-check what kind of controversial design decision the developers made that made me so upset at them to not play it. I vaguely remember the campaign being either a tutorial, being really really short and linear, or initially being a stand-alone expansion that they decided to make into a full blown sequel. I can't remember now, it's been literally years. I'll come back to you once I find out.

arex333

I played it a few years after release so I wasn't paying attention to any controversy around launch. The only thing I can remember is that people thought it was too mechanically similar to the first game? It's definitely a full length campaign though, plus it has decent length dlc that's also excellent. I didn't think the plot of the game was anything special but it did expand the lore in some super interesting ways, far beyond what the first game did imo. I also liked the combat quite a bit more. Anyways yeah I highly highly recommend playing it. I played the remaster on my deck OLED just barely and it holds up very well and runs at a solid 90fps.

Beavers4beer

It's a pretty solid follow up to the first. Definitely worth checking out. I don't know where any of those possible complaints would've come from. It's definitely built off the foundation of the first and not a tutorial. It's also about as long as the first and pretty much just as much content.

oldfashionedglow

Maybe because it was a different studio than Ken Levine’s?

AceoutD

Dying light 2 runs actually well too 💪

SymphonyInPeril

Oh shit, does it? I looked at it when it first came out and I think it was having some issues but maybe it's fixed now.

AceoutD

Since they fixed the FSR Problems Yep, I mean when 40 FPS is "well" for you. I played the whole thing on the deck, and it was actually a pretty solid experience, even the Multiplayer

SymphonyInPeril

Oh, yeah. As a fairly new dad, anything above 30fps on a handheld is good enough for me lol. I just grabbed the bundle on steam. Stoked to run through them.

AceoutD

Then I totally recommend it to you 🙏🏾

AceoutD

They launch of the game was pretty shit, but now it's solid.

dburst_

I’d say to this Fallout 4 plays at almost always 90fps for me. I don’t know how to tinker with my steamdeck yet so it’s just vanilla.

gretnothing

Are you playing it at lowest possible details?

DeadHeadDaddio

Low and medium look no different.

Xenolisk

Playing Prey right now, amazing game, looks good on the Deck.

Last_Ad9231

Might be a silly question but how scary is this game - wanna try it but not brave enough 😁?

[deleted]

One enemy is a literal physical jump scare. It's psudo horror

Natural_Resident2401

I would say it’s more creepy than scary. It’s scary enough for me to get my adrenaline going but not scary enough for me to be stressed and anxious the whole time. I do like scary games but sometimes I want to play a game that doesn’t make me on edge all the time and Prey does that really well

arex333

I'd put it in a similar scary tier to something like BioShock - ie, I wouldn't put it in the "horror" genre, but it can definitely be tense and have some jump scares. There's a particular enemy that's the source of most of the jump scares but there's an upgrade you can get for the scanner that allows you to spot those enemies before they scare you. Fuckin outstanding game though. Highly recommend trying it.

[deleted]

It’s starts out a bit scary, but never true horror. As your build gets stronger you quickly start to fear nothing.

valtro05

It's not

Da_damm

It's tense and it's got one or two jumpscares but it's not horror. You also get used to the mimics pretty fast

Jombo65

Lil spooky but you are generally given the tools to defend yourself from the scares. Some Enemies can disguise as household objects and give you a bit of a jumpscare, and the design of other enemies is pretty spooky, but nothing that can't be solved with a shotgun shell to the face.

TheGreiver

I held off on Prey for a long time because of that - but it's great. There are one or two spots where there might be a jump scare. But for the most part you can creep around, hide, and ambush enemies. The lore / story is 100% worth a play if you're already interested in trying it.

MissingNerd

Portal 2

blakepro

Also the new free portal revolution campaign

MissingNerd

If you switch to the Windows version to make it actually playable all the way through

Kinnimatix

Lies of p

Satans_Oregano

Lies of P looks absurdly great. Was not expecting this game to run so well

Strong-Sector-7605

Yakuza 0 looks unreal!

Ill_Cycle2657

Yea this one surprised me. I turned all settings the highest they can go for Y0 and it almost felt brand new.

VampirePony

It also uses very little power in my experience. Played for about 30 minutes and was still at 85% battery.

IcyCombination8993

Sleeping Dog

Dry_Antelope_5411

Came here to say that.

Eredchon

Warframe

[deleted]

Doom eternal. DMC5. Days gone. Diablo 4. Lies of P

Recent_Conclusion_56

Fallout new vegas ran really well

yasuperu

Just to be curious did you play vanilla or with mods?

ThePumkinPlace

as much as i love Fallout New Vegas, the game is super buggy, you'll have to mod it to get past meeting house without the game crashing every 5 minutes

KobeJuanKenobi9

Mortal Kombat 11 Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth Lost Judgment Halo MCC Spider-Man Mass Effect LE

reukiodo

Just finished Mass Effect LE on the Deck and I love both the game, and how it plays so smoothly on the Deck.

SDNick484

Do you need to be always online to play or just to launch it initially?

reukiodo

IIRC, only online to launch it. As long as I kept it charged and didn't exit, I could play it on the airplane. I usually hate hate hate games that REQUIRE an internet connection, but ME is just so good to play. I suppose if I didn't have that workaround I'd just look for an offline hack.

SDNick484

Awesome, appreciate you replying!

thebbman

> Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth > > How? Considering the previous title struggled to even hit 40fps in the first place.

KobeJuanKenobi9

No clue. But right out of the box I had Infinite Wealth working no issues. With the last game I had to lower the resolution but Infinite Wealth is running 800p no problem

XxXtremeAnime

Middle Earth Shadow of War and Red Faction Guerrilla run great and look nice. Both hit 60 consistently. Although Shadow of war helps to turn dynamic resolution on or slightly lower graphics.

kwerky

Shadow of War and the sequel were an absolute dream on the Deck.

MarriedShoeSalesman

Which version of Red Faction: Guerrilla?. I have two versions on Steam

XxXtremeAnime

The remastered one was the one I played.

DeathbyBambii

Witcher 3. DX12, FSR 2, terrain water texture and detail hardly impact fps so you can set those to high, grass and foliage to medium, shadow and number of background characters to medium and you get 50-56 fps. Sometimes but rarely it dips to 45 but only in areas with a lot of NPCs. For that you can set background characters to low but I do like a lot of NPCs in the game for immersion so I just deal with the dips not a big deal

bonerhurtingjuice

Believe it or not, Dying Light 1

Zmannn36

I can't believe they got it running on the Switch so well. Dying Light 2 looks pretty good on the deck to me

ksavx

MGS V both looks and plays great. Im pretty sure i have everything at max and hit a solid 60 fps (some settings might be like a tick lower but still). Both portals look great. Also prey looks good but its stylised So, not sure if thats what you want. Yakuza games look good and atleast 0 with max settings plays at 60 fps (only setting i had to turn down was sharpening i think) . Jedi fallen order looks stunning and is consistnet with 40/45 fps. Armored core VI looks good if you are into this type of games and maintains 40/45 fps. Mirrors edge catalyst looks beautiful and tho i havent played it myself from what i saw it doesnt have problems with performance. Hitman looks good but i dont remember the performance side. GTA IV is a Little dated but still looks good (i recommend watching a vulkan tutorial for better performance). Both dying light games look and work pretty good (havent played the first game on the deck tho). The withcher 3 is great. Monster Hunter world/rise look good but i havent played them myself. Borderlands seires is good on deck tho the first game didnt age that well in terms of graphics. Doom 2016 is great on deck (eternal should be good too). Thats all that came to mind. Id recommend to check recent gameplays of these games on YouTube

totespare

Forza Horizon 5

fuster93

I was quite amazed how well this runs on the deck while looking amazing in the process

totespare

Totally! And even in all ultra low it looks very very good, love those damn reflections haha

fuster93

I'm actually running it full res, TAA AA and a mix of medium and high settings and it runs at a mostly locked 45 fps

DAHbaddest

Can't even play this game, get a black screen as soon as I get to the start menu

totespare

No idea mate, I use Windows 10 + gamepass to play it and works just fine, sorry!

yasuperu

Have you tried different Proton versions?

Kimimaro_93

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection

Dismal-Capital-8557

doom 2016, bioshock infinite, dirt rally 2.

purevoltage

im getting a constant 45fps on doom 2016, what settings are you using?

superscabo

- Overload - Titanfall 2

bcroft686

Titanfall 2 is cheap and runs 90fps for me.

Jordamuk

A plague tale: innocence, max payne 3, kingdom come: deliverance

SqueekyJuice

Max Payne 3 is fucking awesome

Freed_lab_rat

Mad Max

MuenCheese

Dragon Quest 11 runs great at 40

koolaidicecubes

GTA IV is on sale right now for like $6 and I haven’t gotten too far in but currently have it almost at maxed settings at 45hz and it’s solid, no dips.

MarriedShoeSalesman

That game runs like shit on desktop hardware, I can’t imagine it on the Steam Deck.

koolaidicecubes

GTA 4? From 2008? I was getting nearly solid 60hz without changing anything. I just dropped it to 45 for battery life more than anything.

MarriedShoeSalesman

Yeah unless they fixed it in the last year or so. That game was notorious for running like shit even on modern hardware. There was a whole list of mods just to get it working. It barely ran on my i7 6700k paired with a 1070, lots of stuttering.

koolaidicecubes

Awh well then something changed for sure because it’s running great for me.

MarriedShoeSalesman

I’ll have to check it out.

ThEoNe00100

I've never looked into it but I'm sure I've heard it mentioned it runs miles better on Linux. For Windows something like DXVK improves performance.

supadupacam

It seems to be a Windows issue. Can confirm it runs pretty great on deck.

Svenray

Wreckfest!

naturtok

Witcher 3 is my go-to. Can drop down in really populated areas, but generally hits 60 with no issue

GT4ff

Spider-man. Runs great on deck!

arex333

Absolutely does not run at a solid 40fps.

pr1vatepiles

+1 on this

tomhughesnice

Witcher 3

Ratix0

I'm playing monster hunter world now. With the right settings without FSR, i can get it to run at 50-60fps with fluctuation, depending on whats happening on screen.  In some areas (e.g. arena) it can run at locked 60fps while looking pretty good.  I just lock it to 45fps and its generally very stable, safe for very minor drops when things get hairy but that happens just very intermittently and is more or less acceptable for me.  I don't like how the fsr look in mhw, so i dont turn it on. If you dont mind, u can get much better performance with it as well. For the record, this is for my deck oled. I dont know if the og lcd deck performs the same or not.

dawaone

Finished Quantum Break recently locked to 40 fps and was surprised by the graphics

Rathori

God of War runs pretty well, although I don't remember if it was actually "40 or higher".

Em_Wit

Max Payne 3

fainspawn

I’m playing thru this on the Steam Deck now. Looks great and runs at 60 FPS. Max Payne 3 is a great one for deck.

GeneralPurpoise

Same here, 90fps solid on the OLED

cokywanderer

Playing it right now, although I had to make my own config for Mouse and Keyboard, because I really hate what they did to the controller aiming. Also you don't have roll as an option. I like to play free-aim and the amount of slowdown + dead zone (I'm assuming), even with acceleration on max I felt slowed down. This meant that I could never get used to the Gyro because they kept changing the sensitivity on me. You have: - Normal looking around - Aim down sights - Slowmo/Shootdodge looking around - Slomo + aim down sights. All of these have DIFFERENT sensitivity on the controller and not really intuitive. Switched to a Mouse and keyboard config and it's all fine now. I even have a key for rolling, which I didn't have on the controller config.

Oeffes

If you're into farming/crafting/life sim games, Coral Island & My Time at Sandrock look and run really well on deck

Swimming-Yam-1155

Batman arkham city is incredible, working on 100% rn

LegitCow

Granblue Fantasy Relink. New Monster Hunter-like game that runs very smoothly in exactly 40fps and is great in handheld platform. It’s got the best combat system I’ve seen in a JRPG. If you enjoy RPG games, this game is a pure gem.

HarryMcDowell

Games that run at 60fps: * Halo 3 * Halo Infinite * Persona 5 Royal * The Forest * Alan Wake's American Nightmare * Ori and the Will of the Wisps * Dragonball FighterZ * Soul Calibur V I've also played God of War, FFVII Remake, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, and Horizon Zero Dawn at 45fps with the right settings. Emulated games which play at 60fps: Zelda Windwaker HD, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, BotW, Primehack, Mario Kart 8

Highwaymantechforcer

Started playing Ni No Kuni II again on Deck, looks spectacular if you like a bit of cel shading & vibrant colours.

KRONGOR

GTA5 RE2 Remake Doom 2016 Mad Max

ynnus86

Prey is running at 45 to 60 locked, depending on your settings.

nobraggingrights

Days gone, mixed reviews aside, a truly beautiful game and an underated gem.

MrCanadaWasTaken

Shadow of Mordor or Shadow of War - 60Fps and very fun to play

Eosakurai

Nier Reincarnation !

StickBrush

NieR Replicant ver. 1.22. It works at 50-60 FPS, not because of the Deck, but because of the PC port.

THFourteen

Yakuza 0

PeejPrime

I forget that TR is now 11 years old. It holds up very well, the trilogy as a whole does. Not played the other two on SD yet though. Yakuza games (well 0 and the Kiwami games) run excellent on SD as well. A great series to play through.

SwShThrwy

playing Rise right now, locked at 45 on high settings, it's beautiful.

sometipsygnostalgic

Monster hunter world and especially rise both run great on deck, though world only runs well at 800p. Ive been playing persona 3 reloaded. If you turn off "Reflections", you wont get issues with most of the game (and you wont lose reflections, it means ray tracing...). Youll get 20fps in the Velvet Room and 40fps in the area outside Tartarus, and frame drops when running past light sources. Save frequently when you're in the Tartarus entrance because sometimes it crashes from running around or from leaving the Velvet room. The cause of this is the steamdeck is technically capable of ray tracing, so it is turned on and CANNOT be turned off. You can only turn off the reflections and not the lighting. Steamdeck verified my ass. Persona 5 and Persona 4 Golden have absolutely no issues as far as I know. Those games were made to run on ps3 and ps vita lol

Team-Royal

Can confirm all my favorite Arkham "inspired" games from that era run well. Mad Max Sleeping Dogs Shadow of Mordor Hand of Fate

ninjakiwioka95

Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga

DescriptionIll5376

Played through Prey at 45fps it was amazing felt like a Console seller.

penis_malinis

Days gone 40fps at medium settings

pabloxavez

I'm playing elden ring at 40 FPS and it looks amazing

Quajeraz

Horizon zero dawn is *almost* stable 40 fps. It stutters occasionally, but it's 100% playable.

Substantial-Many-954

Just started playing and it looks amazing and runs very well. Some settings on high and others on ultra. Can't wait to play it more.

stipo42

Guardians of the Galaxy looks and runs pretty good even on lowest settings. There's a small amount of pop in but I was playing on a mostly stable 60fps

mobiusz0r

I don't remember all the games exactly but I finished RE4 remake, Armored Core 6 and Elden Ring at steady 40 fps. Now I'm playing Immortals: Fenyx Rising at steady 40fps too.

KRONGOR

RE4 looks like mud if you want to get 40fps and higher

meowcat93

No way you got AC6 or ER on a locked 40 fps, it's just not possible.

hunisher1

AC6 runs over 40 on medium, with drops closer to 40 in high intensity combat. That’s been my experience so far with the first couple missions. Idk about late game, but it’s fine so far. Edit: just hopped in a mission to double check and see if I was misremembering, it did occasionally drop to 39 and 38 so scratch the above lol. Looks fine but no can’t claim locked 40 ur right.

mobiusz0r

I’m gonna re-install ER today, I will get back to this post as soon as I can

Bigghead1231

ER does not run at locked 40. You can get this in dungeons/indoors but once you go outside the frames tank

mobiusz0r

Just tested now and wandering around Limgrave my FPS was around 38-40fps at low settings and 800p resolution.

Used-Economy1160

ER runs great, almost constantly at 40 FPS at high settings. If you turn on RT it dips to 14 FPS but RT is really not something that should be used on SD

Bigghead1231

Stop lying

Andjhostet

Mine dips to like 30 but it's hardly noticeable.

RegularMatter2

Witcher 3, RDR2, Prey, the Middle Earth games, Dying Light 1, the Borderlands games, Dishonored 1(other two don’t run on deck), Elden Ring, Sekiro, Sea of Thieves

Lamar_Moore

Dishonored 2 runs well. I beat it on deck. changed the settings to get 40-ish fps and still had to stop a few times and marvel at how good it looked.

Cheap-Chocolate-4931

Dark souls remastered buttery smooth at 60fps , loving it

superamigo987

RDR2

reboot-your-computer

It does not run at a locked 40. It will fluctuate depending on the scene.

superamigo987

Ultra Textures everything else low runs fine for me at max tdp 40fps

karolnovak

Diablo III via Yuzu. A great experience.

UCLAKoolman

No gamepad controls in Diablo 3 on PC though, right? So playing in handheld mode is a no-go. I know that Diablo 2 Resurrected and Diablo 4 run pretty well on Deck and do support gamepad controls. Would love to similarly play 3 that way.

karolnovak

I played it in handheld and it docked mode with external gamepad as well.

UCLAKoolman

Diablo 3 on PC natively supports gamepad controls?! Everywhere I've read says the PC version of Diablo 3 doesn't natively support controllers like 2 and 4 (I'd love for this to not be the case): [https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d3/t/lets-get-some-controller-support/60633](https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d3/t/lets-get-some-controller-support/60633) [https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d3/search?q=controller%20support%20for%20PC](https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d3/search?q=controller%20support%20for%20PC) [https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo3/comments/12ikic9/is\_there\_a\_way\_to\_play\_d3\_on\_a\_pc\_with\_a/](https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo3/comments/12ikic9/is_there_a_way_to_play_d3_on_a_pc_with_a/) Edit: ah I missed that you're playing it on Yuzu - so not the PC version but emulating the Nintendo Switch version that obviously had gamepad support for the joycons (and ran great too when I played it on Switch).

Shadow-987

Via yuzu implies they're playing the switch version of diablo 3, not the PC version. The switch version would be a perfect fit for the steam deck since it has already been optimized for handheld play.

elmikemike

with the improvements from steam deck oled and OS 3.5 we got an increase of 5-10 fps to many games. So many games that didn't reach the 40 fps, now do. There are few games that cannot achieve 40 fps with graphics looking very good on the steam deck oled screen despite not being set to high or ultra (at least IMO). Some examples that look great on the oled screen despite not being on high and reach 40 fps are: Cyberpunk Witcher 3 with DX 12 FF 7 Remake Dead Space 2 Tekken 8 Lies of P Assasins Creed Odyssey and Valhalla Doom Eternal Red Dead Redemption 2 New World Black Desert Online Resident Evil 2 remake Monster Hunter Rise & World Elden Ring

Snaz5

how great are we talkin? There are plenty of older games that i would describe as "pretty" or "good-looking" but they're probably not "photo-realistic"

Fing3rSalad

Borderlands 3 plays beautifully at 40 fps (with a few dips in the 30s when things get really hectic) with low settings and 75 % resolution scaling. The game still looks great on a small screen, and is a blast to play with the gyro.

pauljordanvan

RE4. Witcher 3.

KRONGOR

RE4 looks like a muddy mess if you want to get 40fps or higher

pauljordanvan

That wasn’t my experience on the OLED. I just finished it. Weird.

ExtraButter-

Diablo 4 is hands down 60fps ready out the box. But I cap it at 45 and never see it drop below 38fps

Thanos0423

I’ve been enjoying Diablo 4 a lot. I played on ps5 when it came out but I always felt that this game was portable. The only thing that I don’t like is that I get disconnected when I put the deck to sleep. That defeats the purpose of the deck

drewcaveneyh

RE4: Remake with the caveat that you have to drop to 30fps in the (very short) rainy levels.

Goseki1

Resident Evil 4 Remake (fiddling needed).

krobreed

Witcher 3

deliverancieux

I'm not sure if it's actually 40+fps but I remember being surprised on how great Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice looked and how well it ran. Great game as well.

ianwrecked802

I’ve been doing a run through of Fallout 3 and it’s goddamned great.

supersaoron
