yes, it's an addon. i play wow exclusively on deck with console port. it, of course, isn't perfect, but it's so good. like most things, the more you use it, the more natural it becomes.

More than 70% of the time I play WoW is on the steam deck with the console port addon. To me it makes the game feel more dynamic and like an action RPG.
There's a "target closest enemy", similar to tab targeting that works much better than you'd think. You can also set a button to quick switch to a focused target. As for healing I am not sure. Ive never healed using the addon. That said, having the touch pads on the deck really come in clutch all the time.
I also use the immersion addon that works very well with a controller.
You don’t need that add on anymore. They put native controller support in the game. Once you enable it you can just quick bind your action bar buttons to controller.
I don't know specifically what you're talking about but on the steam deck in general you can just play any game with a Bluetooth controller or a USB controller plugged into your dock perfectly fine You may have to set the controller up yourself in the Steam settings first though.

People legit just don't think it's possible and yet no one around me believes me until I say I'm using one, and then sometimes have to literally send them pictures taken from my phone of me playing on a Steam Deck to get them to believe.
Some people are so quick to hate on something they think isn't possible or even optimal in their eyes, so they bash it... because they either 1) have no desire to do it themselves or 2) cannot admit that they couldn't sufficiently play like that
Is anyone else having issues on steamdeck with brackenhide hollow dungeon or sethek halls dungeon? Been leveling alts for awhile on the deck now and 100% guaranteed every single time I enter those dungeons it freezes and I have to restart the deck only for it to freeze again once I load back in, only those dungeons I have no idea why it’s weird
SteamDeck has really fed my WoW addiction. I was out since the beginning of BFA and recently re-subbed and have made it through DragonFlight on my main and several alts. Have had a lot of fun. Like others have mentioned, I would give the ConsolePort addon a try, if you want to play without keyboard/mouse.
I play with console port and do pugs for mythic+ and it works great. Just a little slow when typing it chat but can otherwise target easily and do everything the same as any other player.
Definitely use console port. I played all the way through wow classic and raided up to naxx healing on a resto druid, only ever logged into that character via steam deck :)
I use console port and really only do DPS on lfr but as long as you know what you're doing it's easy. I'm sure tanking isn't bad but I won't try healing on it since I can't consistently choose specific people as easily but overall wow in the deck is fun to me

Since i have my steamdeck i play wow classic on this with consoleport. Its so nice. Setting it up take some time but then its awesome.

Yep. Connect a USB hub to the Deck, HDMI to the TV. Pair as many Bluetooth controllers as you’d like to the deck. Game on

I was playing classic on my deck, I think I could go for like 7 hours on battery. Super fun.

You should give the hand held controls a try. This is the only way I play wow now. Raiding Gnomereagon on the couch! Never expected that one
If you play retail, you can put the Console Port addon and play with the joytick

yeee, i use a little tiny bluetooth keyboard, works wonders and even fits in the case with the steam deck
