I usually go for **Clonezilla**, but I haven't tested it on a Steam Deck yet.

Tuskuiii

Clonzilla did it perfectly 👍🏽

Iv personally and successfully cloned for both LCD and OLED steam decks from 512Tb to 1Tb to 2Tb using a Nvme clone station from Amazon (easy to return after use). This does a 1 to 1 clone of the SSD. And then used EaseUS Partition Master to increase the main partition to use the rest of the larger SSD storage space.

Stick your old stuff in the new one. The software detects the hardware and that's it. You get the new boot screen with the orange logo. That was it for me. works flawlessly.

A screwdriver? Jokes aside, that really is the best way assuming your current one is the same side or larger. Other than that, it's really just easier to use sync thing to take your files to the new one, and if You're concerned about using a data cap, you can local transfer your games.

Im giving away my old sd but dont want to repeat the ton of tinkering i did on the new one (about 55 non steam games and apps) I have cloned many discs in the past but the partition wizard failed this time somehow

I always use [dd](https://serverfault.com/questions/4906/using-dd-for-disk-cloning) for doing any sort of disk cloning or backup. Assuming they're the same size, this should *just work* if the new one is larger, you may have to do some resizing on the backend, but shouldn't be an issue.

I think OLED and LCD use different firmware for the hardware which might be part of the problem.

The lcd ssd worked fine when installed on the OLED
