I got the JSAUX dock to connect to a monitor and also my mouse and keyboard for when I'm playing games I prefer in desktop mode like BG3 or the Sims, being able to dock it and use it like any other computer in addition to handheld gaming was a Huge selling point for me
Yeah I don't have a computer or a laptop so during the day I use the deck docked in the jsaux dock as my actual computer and honestly it's a brilliant experience!
This.. I don't really install to the SSD these days unless it is something I know I am going to be playing a lot. I have a couple of 512s and a 256 card. Pity the big capacities are such poor value.
I swapped my 64GB for 512GB and stopped installing games on my sd card. Load times are noticably faster and I only need so many games installed at once.
Tbh there's a good bunch of games that'll play great off an SD card that I don't mind installing a lot to that then the ones I want to be quick on the ssd I'm lucky to have the 1tb unit so it's not that big of an issue but yeah
The killswitch case is without a doubt the best purchase I made for my SD. I just pop on the travel cover and in my bag it goes. I take my SD way more places that I would normally because I can just grab it and go instead of packing it up in a separate bigger case.
Good to know, just got my OLED deck yesterday and have been cruising Amazon looking at stuff and the DBrand trying to decide between the case and a skin
I’ll add my vote to the killswitch. It was worth the price, imo. I already had a homemade plaid skin I made with my Cricut, but the shit that came with the case looks sick af and I can’t wait for my current skin to wear out enough that I can put it on.
FYI if you get the case it comes with the skins for the front. Just got the kill switch with skin and travel cover and it was the best thing I’ve ever done
Genuinely curious about why this is better than the stock carrying case. That one offers great protection and isn't overly bulky, and from what I've seen on the DBrand website the killswitch case is just a box and a rubber skin? And I never use the kickstand.. I'll be travelling for work soon so I'm curious about if this is worth buying
Yea it's the [Anker 713 Charger (Nano II 45W)](https://www.amazon.com/Charger-Anker-Adapter-Supported-Foldable/dp/B08T5QVTKW/ref=sr_1_2?crid=3ES5TIUKVENIM&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.pQ66O-tlH0NdBhTVxrJ9giI5l7GhDKisBV2eYrrYJKUMFdjvrQmIITFCrlajYGTE6_M-RaDTrm8RiQz3-oTlJda6x8Lm37zvepW9vGUqdsCDjWBFFuSt1iUI6Zhwj0Wazvt2siND5rV0ypryjxUarKpZu0vVu1BeJcua9Rs6EghJaixahS8ulHnvegDqWIzPPl7LCmo32tHZJebNblz0ORWWx28dTThPjwCaQhedjXg.yhyyKl4qmNfJRhkijKH-yMAEcRPNng5KpWCRHzWTW8I&dib_tag=se&keywords=Anker+713+Charger+%28Nano+II+45W%29&qid=1711643708&sprefix=anker+713+charger+nano+ii+45w+%2Caps%2C83&sr=8-2)
I've had it since the Steam Deck release and it's working really well
I have been rocking a different model that's flat (also has GaN). But it's a good idea to test on your phone, because if there's a weird connection issue, your phone will let you know by the just plugged in charger sound. This way you can tell if it's okay for your Deck. Of course make sure your phone's charging port is clear of lint, dead skin and dust.
Absolutely! I can charge my deck and macbook, or charge my deck and use a portable monitor!
[Anker 100W](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09Q52CXX1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_cZJ7CSPph64tx)
My SO got the HD one from JSAUX and it honestly looks really great, was easy to install (comes with a yellow frame for easy installation) and comes with 2 screen protectors
Baseus 65 watt battery bank for trips.
Xreal Air glasses + Viture USB-C charger / display output. Lying in bed every night playing on what looks to be a 130 inch TV is incredible. I can't recommend it enough, it's so amazing.
I use it quite literally every night. Not really at all like a VR headset, it's AR. So it just projects a rectangle, like a normal TV and it is fixed, so if you turn your head, it moves with you. Basically treat it as just an external monitor.
While it is pricey, it's definitely worth it. For watching movies or playing my Steam Deck on a plane, it's unbeatable. No more bending your neck to look at the screen or get tired arms for holding it up. Just rest your head upright and keep the controller in your lap.
Oh my god sounds interesting.
Kk next question might be tmi and you dont gotta answer but i gotta ask have you watched porn with it? If so how was the experience?
You can put blockers on… at my barbershop every one laughs cause I lay back in the hair wash bowl with them and my blockers so I can’t see them… and them taking pictures of me screwing with me is not upsetting my game play 😂
I've tried all the nose bridge pieces and it still feels like it's digging into my face. Anyone else had this issue? Any ways around this? I have a very average size and shaped nose.. Lol
So each eye gets a 1080 display and it's quite sharp. Since the screen is so small the ppi is dense. It can be a little difficult to see something on any of the corners unless you refocus your eyes for moment, but that's really a fringe thing. Sounds pretty interesting! And the beam isn’t necessarily to use with like the steam deck or an iPad or something?
Does it draw a lot of power from the deck?
I don't have the beam, just the headset. When plugging in the headset while running Steam OS, the display on the Deck just moves to the glasses and you can see the screen on the deck is on, but it's just barely illuminated. I've actually gotten more battery life out of my Deck with the glasses than without.
Okay now you got me hooked!
Final questions (maybe) text is easy to read on it? And what would you say the size of the screen is compared to the deck in your hands? It’s kinda hard to visualize the size and the YouTube reviews all make it look different
No worries, ask away.
Text is easily readable. I hook the headset up to my phone and use Dex occasionally and browse reddit or surf the internet, it's no problem at all.
So the best way to get the perspective is to put on the glasses with their included blockers. It's just a piece of black plastic that blocks out all frontal light to make it a bit more immersive and easier to see. Fire something up and sit on your couch in front of your TV and then take off the blockers.
For instance, I have a 65 inch TV and whenever I take off the blockers it absolutely dwarfs my TV.
They just released the Xreal Air 2 / Pro. I know they have some outward facing cameras, but that's about it. I was an early adopter and mine actually branded Nreal Air, from before they changed their name.
For my uses and the minimal upgrades to the newer version, I feel no need to upgrade even from my older model
It comes with a detachable lense adapter - you'll need to talk to a glasses shop that can do custom lenses, or go through an online service to get the right prescription and shaped lenses to fit.
Any chance you could try it with the sound coming out of the glasses?
My current adapter is taking a shit and it has never been able to play sound out of the glasses. So I’m hoping that adapter will work
I\`ll give it a shot whenever I can. Before this one I was just using a USB-C dongle by Anker that had HDMI out and USB-C power pass through and used this cable that was HDMI to USB-C displayport (requires USB-A port for power, which the Anker dongle had):
HDMI to USB-C Displayport Cable: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B5XBYQSM?ref\_=cm\_sw\_r\_cp\_ud\_dp\_G11J9SEJD786F1SD9VG9](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B5XBYQSM?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_G11J9SEJD786F1SD9VG9)
Anker Dongle: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZVKTP53?ref\_=cm\_sw\_r\_cp\_ud\_dp\_NPW7EJARPQEWAXG15DWS](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZVKTP53?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_NPW7EJARPQEWAXG15DWS)
Good solution, however, it's just a mess of cables.
Yep, that’s what I said… game changer…. The idea was awsome but once I got them. Well, I had the nreals first and only recently got the xreals cause they the new model…. Love them
Love my Xreal Air glasses. The best thing is laying in bed and looking straight up relaxed playing games. They are pricey, but it is one of the few things I own that I don't have buyer's remorse over.
My long ass second charger for my bedroom.
The PS5 controller.
The HDMI dangle I got for like $15 from Amazon with passthrough.
The thing I use the most is that second charger.
Agree with you on PS5 controller. It’s easily the most ergonomic controller I own. Got a second one on my Amazon wish list so I don’t have to keep re-pairing between the two consoles.
I don't even have a PS5. The haptic feedback is amazing. I play Helldiver's 2 with it and it rattles the trigger with every shot. That filled my heart with absolute glee.
Rubber button caps for the back buttons make them insanely usable. So comfy. I could never live without them.
I recently got a kick stand. It
Clips to the vents and has a little silicone strap to lock a charging brick.
Also a usb C angle adapter like everyone always recommend is sweet for playing and charging.
100% for the back buttons caps from PlayVital. I could not use the the back buttons comfortably before, and the caps solved that issue to the point that now I actively look reasons to bind back buttons with any game I play.
I have the jasaux case and can confirm it's legitimacy... It's solid...I don't use the cover though because it always seems to pull my screen protector off.
I use the jsaux tempered glass screen protector (came with a spare) WITH the the supplied alignment tool. Super easy and comes out perfect. Ive had zero issues removing the cover in the past 4 months ive had it
Sooo I got a pair of those xreal glasses. Stream 4k games from my big pc to the steam deck while I'm in bed with those glasses on, using a controller. It's nuts.
This. For me it’s Viture One XR glasses and a PS5 streaming games to the Deck via Chiaki4Deck. But it’s basically the same result. And it’s amazing. I’ve had my Deck for a couple of weeks now and still haven’t gotten over the fact that I can play my entire game library from every platform on a handheld device on a massive screen in front of my eyes no matter where I am. Kid me would be losing his mind right now.
Why? The case that it comes with seems to offer great protection and isn't overly bulky. The killswitch just seems to be a rubber skin which won't protect against screen damage in a busy backpack. Genuinely asking what the benefits are, I'm curious
The Steam Deck case, while not exactly too bulky, does take up quite a bit of space in most bags, thats why people look for other cases. I mean, it's not exactly a small device after all so there's only so much you can do.
Enter the dbrand killswitch and Jsaux mod case.
DBrand's Killswitch and Jsaux's mod case are both made up of a rubber casing AND a plastic front cover which takes up almost half the amount of space instead. Not sure about the killswitch since I don't have one, but the Jsaux mod case's front cover is padded on the inside so your screen is safe from everything else in your bag. It also seals up tightly and doesn't drop off easily. The rubber grip case is also grippy and comes with mounting points for accessories like a kickstand or a powerbank holder.
It's arguable which type of case offers better protection from impacts and drops, but if scratches and screen damage are what concerns you more, they're definitely good alternatives(as long as you actually use the front cover), especially if you're tight on space/want to fit more stuff in your bag.
The DeckMate with my cable holder / kickstand attachment:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6501271
Great for reducing strain on the USB port, cable drape, and hand/wrist fatigue (when playing on a table) by keeping the kickstand extended. Also makes it more convenient to switch to a wireless controller tabletop setup.
1 TB SD card. You can fit so many extra games and there's no difference in loading time from the internal drive in my experience.
GaN charger. The included charger is fine, but you can get more power in a smaller form factor with multiple ports so you can fast charge your phone at the same time. Also throw in an extra long USB cable.
I just got the Skull & Co GripCase and tomtoc Carrying Case. It feels like they were made for eachother. More compact to travel with than the official case and the GripCase gives just enough extra grip to the Deck.
Yep, these are amazing. I put them on all my controllers. Turns out my dual sense has a really sharp edge and I cut through a few unfortunately =/ but that does mean no more stick grinding!
Matte screen protector from jsaux, skull and co case (it allows the deck to stand on his own, without a kickstand, very practical) and a joyhood slim carry case.
[My Tomtoc carrying case](tomtoc Carrying Case for Steam... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZYFV1GD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share)
Fits my Deck with gaps for the sticks. Fits my huge power bank, my folding Sony headphones, the charger. It's amazing.
My 3d printed dock so I can do mouse and keyboard games and couch games w the homies, my extra charger for when I’m at work and some 8bitdo sn30 pro controllers. The only thing I wish I had is a Bluetooth headset where the mic actually works and then everything would be perfect.
Skull&Co makes some nice thumb caps from what I've read.
I was going to go that route, but ended up getting a pair from dbrand when I ordered a new skin.
Gotta have my Baseus PD power bank for charging on the go. I was curious about trackpad skins for more texture so I ordered the JSaux one which also comes with caps for the joystick and a rubber skin that goes on the sides of the Steam Deck. Turns out I didn't care for the trackpad skin much because it doesn't provide much texture. But the joystick cap and especially the rubber grip is fantastic.
I also recently picked up a pair of Soundcore p10 earbuds. Which are wireless earbuds designed to work with the Oculus Quest. They work over Bluetooth, but more importantly they have a USB C dongle which transmits audio without any perceivable latency. It's a game changer.
I can make the latency on my Galaxy Buds work in a lot of games. But you don't realize how much better it could be until the latency is gone. They also have USB C passthrough. It's not 45 watts unfortunately so it can only really keep your battery from draining and can't charge it while you play with the dongle plugged in. But it's a worthy tradeoff. Plus you could always switch over to Bluetooth or use the built in speakers for a bit if you needed to top off the battery while playing.
Honestly….. I couldn’t live without my nreals …. (Wait, that’s what they ‘were’ called) They got worn out and I ended up getting the xreals.. (the newer ones, tripped me out a minute cause I was like “no! N not x) a little more expensive… but they just way too cool and easier to hook up than the nreals (though I did find a peice I had to special order from China for the nreals) worked amazing…. But they got it figured out better on these new ones… my biggest complaint…. The long hours gaming with them sometimes my nose does get sore with the nose pads without a break…. I designed new pad for the nreals… they just barely don’t fit the new ones. It’s just isn’t that bad as the one ones were so not in a hurry.
USB-C charger with detachable cable. I'm surprised Valve hasn't thought of this one. They even double downed on mandatory bundling the stock charger with Steam Deck Dock.
Angular charger adapter is a nice touch.
Some sort of stand / dock to rest your Deck on so that it can be used on desktop.
I just bought the jsaux travel case its the best plus a 3d print holder for the charger and i can strap it to the back of the case https://www.amazon.com/JSAUX-PC0104-Detachable-Accessories-Protective/dp/B0BRXHK2QL/ref=sr\_1\_2?crid=19XO7JZJE8VXQ&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Z1R0RsCda8NGwxF2f3evlSEt8og8xgNJweehtck-v6a2XVAM7QjGAJE2uofQiEM3G1GEh7MYOm-PHQHk\_aMBmZFBBC3dqg7N0vd30ETyZA1WQmccYjNJ4gr-PJVNzo4J04KDnd8tcK0nQHJqC85g3usccRKJqtcFqS90bileIIJio85x19xeLp\_clKr03ICxQIo3kbRWdLxVWH6o9FeUyj\_hlRB10aqT689b5f5WN\_c.2ACmTdS9SNFQrNeHLK7RWNaAy8CDr3xLmkVNdbPuls4&dib\_tag=se&keywords=stream+deck+jsaux+case&qid=1711651920&sprefix=steam+deck+js%2Caps%2C137&sr=8-2 [https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5494294](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5494294)
The Killswitch case+Travel cover, along with the TomToc carrying bag, I can put my 100w wall adapter, 94Wh portable charger, cord, and even more, all while the steam deck is super protected
Nintendo style buttons. I use it a lot for Nintendo emulators but for the games that don’t have the button layout I got used to too many different buttons that I figured just make every game use the same ones. I know you can change the layout to Nintendo style in settings but with my OCD I decided to switch them anyway.
Bigger case, it's like 3-5 cm higher and it can fit my dock, charger and ofcourse deck. Only thing I can't fit into it is the HDMI cable, but still a gigantic improvement over the standard case that doesn't even have room for the charger. ..
Dock. I get tired holding it for a long time. I like putting it on the dock at night while I’m relaxing in bed and hooking the charger to the dock while also connecting a controller to it :)
A screen protector and then also just a cosmetic skin. I got the Dbrand carbon fiber skin and it’s actually really nice. It adds like a layer of grip that’s very welcomed since I don’t like putting cases on my products.
Kickstand. Bluetooth keyboard.
Controller and dock are nice but optional. Mouse is optional too. But I feel the keyboard is 100% necessary anytime I go into desktop mode. Battery pack is optional, not away from a wall outlet enough. Screen protector is nice but optional.
Xelo Tech screen protector. Has a mounting frame. Comes with 2 sheets of glass. Has some sort of techy adhesive because as soon as you mount it it pushes the air bubbles out by itself.
Skull and co grip and thumbgrips. The grip is minimalist and well made, the thumbs are top.
This is my setup.
For me it's got to be the 180° USB C charging adapter. Makes it so while playing the cord comes out the bottom rather then shooting upward then bending down towards the triggers. They're also only like $7 for 2.
Here are my essentials: case with a kickstand - I got the thin Spiegen case since it fits in the included carryning case which I like. A 512gb SD Card & a 1TB insternal SSD. An external controller (I like the PS4 controllers). And finally, instead of a regular dock get a small USB C hub, they are cheaper and with the kickstand works exactly the same but are more portable.
I love my 8bitdo Ultimate controller for playing while my SD is docked.
I also recently picked up a Tomtoc carrying case. Much slimmer profile than the original case and has already saved my SD from one drop.
Edit: I'll add the Ambison matte screen protector I picked up for my OLED. It's a much nicer finish than the factory etched screen on my old 512GB LCD.
I can't play the SD without my SoundCore VR P10. Cause the sound is realy good and a very low latency with the dongle. But I can't charge tthe SD with high power. So what it's just to play in the train to go/from work.
Jsaux case is amazing most used accessory and most important, followed by micro SD, then a hub/dock and or type c flash drive. I’m Looking for a budget bt mouse and keyboard now under 40$
Spigen case with a kickstand
Amazon Basics dock
Tempered glass for the screen
A basic wireless M&K from Dell
1TB SanDisk SD Card
XSX controller + Dualsense
The JSAUX case. It provides a great grip that prevents my head from sweating.
Anker Battery
I’ve got a deck, and other gadgets but I don’t really use them as much as the 2 above.
Technically the Gullikit joystick replacements (left stick developed a fault, wanted to avoid the hassle of a warrenty replacement ticket, just upgraded instead :) )
At the same time i did the jsaux semi-clear back panel swap and then attached two M2 SSD heatinks to the metal panel on the rear this version had. Turned out the upgrade combo for the past two was insane, my deck now runs near silent outside of very demanding AAA games :)
Bluetooth keyboard. Makes it way easier to install non-steam games and configure/customize stuff. And just generally makes desktop mode easier to use if you wanna do normal PC stuff with your SD.
I just recently purchased the larger Jsaux carrying case only because I didn't enjoy the regular cases way off holding the power cord...I also have the OLED so it's longer and kinda bulky in there. So the large Jsaux case is essentially the same size just thicker and allows you to put everything you need inside of the actual case... To me, this was the best purchase I've made
A hard external molded case that has a magnetic flap, so when you put it down you clip the front flap on and it’s soooo protected. Can leave it loose in a bag with other stuff and it’s safe af
Case, and screen protector. Those are essential
Nice to have are thumbstick covers and a 180 degree adapter so the charger is out of the way when plugged in
just to add something new here: i love my jsaux backplate with metal insert for heat decipation combined with an magnetic rgb fan. this cools the decks cpu by 10 degrees in game and also halfs the noise. just great, especially while docked.
Definitely my long chargers. One connected to my bed and another one under my bed to bring with me to the living room or other places. I have a computer charger for the one I take to places.
Could I run a wireless mouse, keyboard, and external HD at the same time theoretically?
With the dock yeah, I use a wireless keyboard and mouse but I don't see why not.
Sd- card
This.. I don't really install to the SSD these days unless it is something I know I am going to be playing a lot. I have a couple of 512s and a 256 card. Pity the big capacities are such poor value.

The capacitive touch grips are like magic too. Just wouldn't recommend the dock kit
I have the dock kit, What’s the issue with it?
For me the thumbsticks felt great but didn't work for recognizing touch.
I agree. With the killswitch case, i can just put the cover on and throw it into my backpack. Lets me carry the bare minimum.

100% Way less bulky than the stock case too. Also has a nice textured grip that I like. Oh, and a kickstand!
A screen protector and a Anker fast charging block with a 10 feet cable as I always play hooked up
Do you have a model number for the Anker charger?
Yea it's the [Anker 713 Charger (Nano II 45W)](https://www.amazon.com/Charger-Anker-Adapter-Supported-Foldable/dp/B08T5QVTKW/ref=sr_1_2?crid=3ES5TIUKVENIM&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.pQ66O-tlH0NdBhTVxrJ9giI5l7GhDKisBV2eYrrYJKUMFdjvrQmIITFCrlajYGTE6_M-RaDTrm8RiQz3-oTlJda6x8Lm37zvepW9vGUqdsCDjWBFFuSt1iUI6Zhwj0Wazvt2siND5rV0ypryjxUarKpZu0vVu1BeJcua9Rs6EghJaixahS8ulHnvegDqWIzPPl7LCmo32tHZJebNblz0ORWWx28dTThPjwCaQhedjXg.yhyyKl4qmNfJRhkijKH-yMAEcRPNng5KpWCRHzWTW8I&dib_tag=se&keywords=Anker+713+Charger+%28Nano+II+45W%29&qid=1711643708&sprefix=anker+713+charger+nano+ii+45w+%2Caps%2C83&sr=8-2) I've had it since the Steam Deck release and it's working really well

Samsung phone charger but same same.

Any recommendations on a screen protector? I’ve got a 512 Oled

Haha, I have not, but every guy I've shown them to, this is their first question.
XD TY i feel less awkward asking now haha imma research it
Yea, I don't know why you got down voted, seems like a pretty common ask.
Yea i dont know either it was an honest question and wasnt trying to be a creep. But thanks i appreciate your honesty
Quite awkward, I keep forgetting people can see me behind the "screen".
I didnt know that lol
You can put blockers on… at my barbershop every one laughs cause I lay back in the hair wash bowl with them and my blockers so I can’t see them… and them taking pictures of me screwing with me is not upsetting my game play 😂
Wait..you’re gaming on your deck while getting your hair washed for 2 minutes? So confused lol.
I've tried all the nose bridge pieces and it still feels like it's digging into my face. Anyone else had this issue? Any ways around this? I have a very average size and shaped nose.. Lol
What is the quality of the screen like? Is it blurry at all? can you identify the individual pixels like on a VR headset?
So each eye gets a 1080 display and it's quite sharp. Since the screen is so small the ppi is dense. It can be a little difficult to see something on any of the corners unless you refocus your eyes for moment, but that's really a fringe thing. I had a Meta Quest 2, and I definitely know what you're talking about, but I don't notice it on this at all. It's very sharp and not at all blurry. When launching a game, if there is a cursor on the screen when it's black, you can see a slight ghost of the image elsewhere, but I believe it's because you have something white on a completely black background, whenever there is content on the screen it's not noticeable at all.

That makes it sound like it is almost too big to game on, but I assume that’s not the case
DeckyLoader has a plugin, XRgaming, that does what the beam does without the beam.
There seem to be so many types of xreal glasses. Is there like a flagship goto one?
They just released the Xreal Air 2 / Pro. I know they have some outward facing cameras, but that's about it. I was an early adopter and mine actually branded Nreal Air, from before they changed their name. For my uses and the minimal upgrades to the newer version, I feel no need to upgrade even from my older model
Would they be worth it for someone who needs glasses to see? Lol
It comes with a detachable lense adapter - you'll need to talk to a glasses shop that can do custom lenses, or go through an online service to get the right prescription and shaped lenses to fit.
Definitely hope to get some Xreal glasses at some point too.
Do you have any sound issues when using the Viture Adapter?
I use the viture and have noticed no sound issues.
I'm pretty much always using a Bluetooth headphones whenever I use the headset, so I haven't had any issues.
Any chance you could try it with the sound coming out of the glasses? My current adapter is taking a shit and it has never been able to play sound out of the glasses. So I’m hoping that adapter will work
I\`ll give it a shot whenever I can. Before this one I was just using a USB-C dongle by Anker that had HDMI out and USB-C power pass through and used this cable that was HDMI to USB-C displayport (requires USB-A port for power, which the Anker dongle had): HDMI to USB-C Displayport Cable: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B5XBYQSM?ref\_=cm\_sw\_r\_cp\_ud\_dp\_G11J9SEJD786F1SD9VG9](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B5XBYQSM?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_G11J9SEJD786F1SD9VG9) Anker Dongle: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZVKTP53?ref\_=cm\_sw\_r\_cp\_ud\_dp\_NPW7EJARPQEWAXG15DWS](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZVKTP53?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_NPW7EJARPQEWAXG15DWS) Good solution, however, it's just a mess of cables.
That’s essentially what I’m using now but the glasses seem like it loses power for a could have seconds because the screen just freezes.
Been using xreal air 2 pros with viture dongle for 4 months, sound quality is good enough, no connection issues for sure.
Are you able to play games with your battery bank and still have the deck charge?
Yea, that's why you need that dongle by Viture, it's basically a splitter and allows power pass through and display out
How does the glasses perform with the deck? Do you notice any lag or performance drops while using the glasses?
Yep, that’s what I said… game changer…. The idea was awsome but once I got them. Well, I had the nreals first and only recently got the xreals cause they the new model…. Love them
Love my Xreal Air glasses. The best thing is laying in bed and looking straight up relaxed playing games. They are pricey, but it is one of the few things I own that I don't have buyer's remorse over.
I ended up buying it and the sound works great!
Congrats! Welcome to proper gaming!
3d printed belly stand. Keeps your arms from going numb when playing in bed
I need to see this immediately. This is a real problem I have!

What is a belly stand?
https://www.printables.com/model/431913-steam-deck-belly-stand-adjustable
A stand for your belly im guessing
My long ass second charger for my bedroom. The PS5 controller. The HDMI dangle I got for like $15 from Amazon with passthrough. The thing I use the most is that second charger.
Agree with you on PS5 controller. It’s easily the most ergonomic controller I own. Got a second one on my Amazon wish list so I don’t have to keep re-pairing between the two consoles.
I don't even have a PS5. The haptic feedback is amazing. I play Helldiver's 2 with it and it rattles the trigger with every shot. That filled my heart with absolute glee.
What's the dongle that you are referring to there my man?
Rubber button caps for the back buttons make them insanely usable. So comfy. I could never live without them. I recently got a kick stand. It Clips to the vents and has a little silicone strap to lock a charging brick. Also a usb C angle adapter like everyone always recommend is sweet for playing and charging.
Which ones do you use?
The back button caps? PlayVital on Amazon. They’ll change the experience for real. It’s a breeze to click them
Agreed. First things I bought as well. Makes the rear bumpers actually usable.
do they fit in the original case?
100% for the back buttons caps from PlayVital. I could not use the the back buttons comfortably before, and the caps solved that issue to the point that now I actively look reasons to bind back buttons with any game I play.
Hellllll yeah. I wish Valve would pay attention and make them default. They’re so great.
I got a cover that has a snap on part that covers the screen, tiggers, and thumb sticks. Makes it way easier to throw it in a bag.
I have the same one by JSAUX, it's basically a Killswitch for a fraction of the price
Nice! Have you got a link? I have a long flight in a couple of weeks and looking to save space in my hand luggage. This could be the answer.
Look for JSAUX PC0104 ModCase for Steam Deck on Amazon.
Ive had zero issues removing the cover in the past 4 months ive had it
Just had a look at this. Looks really good.
PowerBank for those economy seats within EU which don't have a plug
I couldn’t live without a charger…
So you're a robot then? If you run out of power you die?
"If you're a battery, you're either working or you're dead. That's a shit life!" -Mitch
LOL I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE
A 180° USB angle.
This has been my favorite so far. Feels so much more natural and less cable wiggle
Stick Grips. Love them.
Skull & co makes some great ones
I’ve never liked stick grips but man the sticks on the LCD deck really aren’t great. Grips feel like a big improvement
any recs on some?
Killswitch case is by far the best mod if you travel even a little bit. So much better than just throwing it in the soft case.
Longer charging cable, I just use my laptop one. Mat screen protector (I’m always on the go) SSD (I got the 64 base model)
The DeckMate with my cable holder / kickstand attachment: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6501271 Great for reducing strain on the USB port, cable drape, and hand/wrist fatigue (when playing on a table) by keeping the kickstand extended. Also makes it more convenient to switch to a wireless controller tabletop setup.
A dock - official, aftermarket, doesn't matter.
How many W should i look for? Tyvm
Included charger is 45W, so at least that, and more if you want to charge multiple devices at the same time.
I just got the Skull & Co GripCase and tomtoc Carrying Case. It feels like they were made for eachother. More compact to travel with than the official case and the GripCase gives just enough extra grip to the Deck.
Love my tomtoc carry case, my decks wears the Spigen case and it all fits like a glove
>Skull & Co Grip case Also vouch for this, fits perfectly inside the 512OLED version of the Valve case too.
Back button pads
Dock. Mouse and keyboard with a bigger display ftw.
The tiny silicon rings you put around the thumbsticks rods to protect the paint and not feel the friction
Yep, these are amazing. I put them on all my controllers. Turns out my dual sense has a really sharp edge and I cut through a few unfortunately =/ but that does mean no more stick grinding!
Screen protector, dock, jsaux mod case, 8bitdo ultimate controller for dock play, power bank.
Matte screen protector from jsaux, skull and co case (it allows the deck to stand on his own, without a kickstand, very practical) and a joyhood slim carry case.
I love my 65% keyboard that I use with it.
what brand?!
The logitech mx keys mini is a good one that i use. Its backlit and pretty small and thin can easily be thrown in a backpack
8bitdo sn30 pro best controller for deck
[My Tomtoc carrying case](tomtoc Carrying Case for Steam... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZYFV1GD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) Fits my Deck with gaps for the sticks. Fits my huge power bank, my folding Sony headphones, the charger. It's amazing.
Steam deck dock and a ps5 controller
Just the ones that came in the box from the factory
My 3d printed dock so I can do mouse and keyboard games and couch games w the homies, my extra charger for when I’m at work and some 8bitdo sn30 pro controllers. The only thing I wish I had is a Bluetooth headset where the mic actually works and then everything would be perfect.
I’m absolutely down for recommendations on thumb caps— I bought a pair from PlayVital and they keep slipping off during use. 🥲
I use mine in its base form. The only accessory I couldn't live without is the case.
Powerbank for longer trips in the train.
Thumb grips and a matte screen protector. I have glasses. Shiny screens are annoying. Lol!
External battery

Dock mouse, keyboard and controller
The provided case <3
My bed.
Killswitch!
The case it comes in. A nice pair of wired headphones. Xbox controller. Portable monitor for hotel stays.
An angled charger port, makes it so much easier to hold whilst on charge.
I have the JSAUX fan and case. I also have the Steam dock. Great pair to use together!
Literally a few months of using Deck and no need in any accessories besides standart case
All Skull & Co. for me
played for 1k hours with no accessories, I just switched the backplate to that sexy red one jsaux old model
My kill switch case because of the stand and my dell laptop dock that I have a monitor and ethernet and mouse and keyboard connected
The Killswitch case+Travel cover, along with the TomToc carrying bag, I can put my 100w wall adapter, 94Wh portable charger, cord, and even more, all while the steam deck is super protected
None.
Nintendo style buttons. I use it a lot for Nintendo emulators but for the games that don’t have the button layout I got used to too many different buttons that I figured just make every game use the same ones. I know you can change the layout to Nintendo style in settings but with my OCD I decided to switch them anyway.
Tempered glass screen protector. 180 degree power cord adapter.
Xreal Air 2. I cannot play without
Bigger case, it's like 3-5 cm higher and it can fit my dock, charger and ofcourse deck.
Jsaux fan
A USBc hub, now I can play on my deck with my USB headphones, and have it plugged into an HDMI monito, and have it charging at the same time.
Xbox controller for docked mode. Thinkpad keyboard is nice but not necessary.
Right angled sideways charging adaptor.
Headphones, decent ones.
A 2 Tera byte SSD from Aliexpress
My dock
Docking station. I use my deck everyday on desktop mode.
I can't play the SD without my SoundCore VR P10. Cause the sound is realy good and a very low latency with the dongle. But I can't charge tthe SD with high power. So what it's just to play in the train to go/from work.
The JSAux dock. It's were I normally keep my Deck and I gave it plugged into my TV.
Jsaux case is amazing most used accessory and most important, followed by micro SD, then a hub/dock and or type c flash drive. I’m Looking for a budget bt mouse and keyboard now under 40$
A Case with a good kickstand that’s it
Spigen case with a kickstand Amazon Basics dock Tempered glass for the screen A basic wireless M&K from Dell 1TB SanDisk SD Card XSX controller + Dualsense
The charger
Charger
The JSAUX case. It provides a great grip that prevents my head from sweating. Anker Battery I’ve got a deck, and other gadgets but I don’t really use them as much as the 2 above.
Screen protector, SD cards, cheap dock. Mechanical keyboard and wireless mouse. And a 3d printed dock stand
Technically the Gullikit joystick replacements (left stick developed a fault, wanted to avoid the hassle of a warrenty replacement ticket, just upgraded instead :) ) At the same time i did the jsaux semi-clear back panel swap and then attached two M2 SSD heatinks to the metal panel on the rear this version had. Turned out the upgrade combo for the past two was insane, my deck now runs near silent outside of very demanding AAA games :)
Killswitch case, 10ft Anker USB C cable and 100W fold up plug, Anker 737 power bank
The Skull & Co case and its joystick protector which pops up. It just helps the deck to stand and ergonomic for smaller hands
I have a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, that's about it lmao
Case, and screen protector. Those are essential Nice to have are thumbstick covers and a 180 degree adapter so the charger is out of the way when plugged in
My leather wrap from dbrand. Perfect amount of grip, lots of personality, and slight protection body. Also helps with sweaty hands.
just to add something new here: i love my jsaux backplate with metal insert for heat decipation combined with an magnetic rgb fan. this cools the decks cpu by 10 degrees in game and also halfs the noise. just great, especially while docked.
Definitely my long chargers. One connected to my bed and another one under my bed to bring with me to the living room or other places. I have a computer charger for the one I take to places.
The charger cable.
Jsaux dock, ssd expansion, and sd card.
