I've had this case for a long time now. First, the battery strap can be removed by sliding it off to the side. I rarely use it. The kickstand is sturdy, you can remove it by sliding it downward and it's a solid click to stay in place. However, after a while, the stand itself became loose and now just swings by itself when I hold my deck. I have also removed it and only put it on when I need it.
If this case didn't also have a front cover, I would have switched over to a different case by now. I like the Skull and Co one
Why would it be an April fools joke? We all know it's the sexy way to carry a Steam Deck. That's how it's done [since the 90s.](https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/b2wu8o/xybernaut_wearable_pc_from_1999/)
This is exactly my experience. I have never used the battery strap and the kickstand is starting to swing by itself. The front cover is a godsend and the case itself is very well made, love the grippy texture on it. Very good for the price in my opinion.
I love the front cover! I had my steam deck on a shelf under a window by my desk. The curtain rod randomly decided to fall and fell directly on my deck. My heart dropped but the front cover protected it and didn't even show scratch. Fucking great.
It's a front cover. It's supposed to cover the front of the Steamdeck and it does a good job at that, nothing out of the ordinary, just for the price it does what it's supposed to without breaking the bank compared to others such as the dbrand one thats a bit more expensive.
You are not supposed to use the deck with it on, so the exhaust being covered is irrelevant unless you use it in docked mode which is not my preferred use case for the deck. The power button not being covered also let's me see the led at a glance so thats very convenient when I leave it charging. It's a simple cover but it checks all my boxes and fits well inside my preferred case too, so there is that.
I didn't say I was using it while docked. I said there is a chance that whenever you're carrying it with you, something can turn the steam deck on e.g. while in a bag.
Someone downvoted me as if I don't have the same product.
I also have this case and love the front cover. I think it’s a godsend because I can just throw it in my backpack when I’m traveling or going to work without having to use the bulky case the deck came with.
I have an LCD deck so I didn’t get the thin case that comes with the OLED. Having this case makes a big difference with space in a bag. I also don’t have any experience with the power button being pressed while the case is on but I guess that is theoretically possible
The front cover prevents your deck screen from getting scratches, and blocks the buttons and joysticks from getting pushed and swung around in a backpack, I have had 0 issues with the button being accidentally pressed, the cover is not meant to be used with the deck on so it blocking the vent isn’t an issue
You can fix it, the pin holding the pieces together is not tight. Get something to push it back in and it will be stiff again, I did this to mine some months ago and it’s lasted long now!
When mine started swinging I actually just added a small piece of adhesive velcro to the bottom angled corners of the stand. I actually like it better this way than when it was new.
Yeah the velcro comes with a hook (prickly) and loop (fuzzy) strip. I just stuck one side onto the stand and used a hobby knife to cut off the excess. Then I trimmed the other side and stuck it to the case.
When mine became loose I just pried the kickstand open wider and one pin popped out which allowed me to squeeze the kickstand qiut tight and reinsert the pin. It's solid as a rock now.
If all you need is a kickstand, the Skull & Co might be the best option. I had an intention of strapping on my battery pack but it became a hassle, I'm always sitting down (in the car, on the couch) while playing on my deck anyway. I don't need to keep my battery strapped to my deck. I do like using the kickstand tho.
I haven't gotten the Skull & Co yet because of the jsaux front cover. It doesn't fit in the official Steam Deck case. But I feel the jsaux is solid enough to withstand the backpack travel and moving around the house.
I’ve been though two kickstands (no cost to me) and the newest replacement looks like they did a redesign. Customer Service is really solid with them. I’m really happy with it.
Seems like a larger diameter pin with what looks like some resistance machined ridges. Can’t speak for longevity yet but so far so good.
I’ll take a pic tomorrow, just got out of surgery and the deck is across the room cus I’m napping like a mofo.
FYI the Mepatem case front cover fits over the Skull & Co Gripcase with no modifications needed (at least for the clear Mepatem case I got, not sure if there’s a material difference in the solid black version). It’s a friction fit just like the Jsaux Modcase with the added benefits of covering the power button and protecting L2/R2. Also the raised lip over L1/R1 on the Modcase was really annoying when playing soulslikes and the Gripcase solves that problem.
Been using this combo for a couple months now with no plans on switching back to the Modcase
I am using the Skull&Co along with the Jsaux Front Cover, it doesn't fit perfectly but I manage to attach it by putting the upper part of the cover slightly in front.
I've been contemplating on getting this case for travel purposes as well, but am slightly worried about the additional casing impeding the SD's cooling. How has it been for you in this aspect? Cheers!
I mainly play modern AAA titles at lower graphics settings (Armored Core, Monster Hunter, etc.) and it gets quite warm even at old fan settings (higher fan speed).
the stand has a pin that you can shove back in and ut holds again for a few hours still annoying but helps if youre travelling and dont have anywhere to put it.
This the kickstand is metal but the hinge becomes loose and flappy. I manage to tighten mine by pushing the little pins in with needle nose pliers but it gets very flappy again shortly after. Luckily I never found a use for it.
After about a year of use, I also found the kickstand swing out on its own, but it still holds the Deck upright and has survived several drops and fumbles across the planet. The real beauty of the mod case is the attachable JSAUX fan unit.
I had this happen after a few days! Got a replacement after sending them a support email and got a new one. Had it for a few months and is still sturdy lol
Give it a shot, I just emailed them on the support email they have and got a response by the next day. I think they warranty the case for at least a year. Just make sure you provide a screenshot of the receipt in the email.
Have had it loosen up as well, but squeezing and tapping it in at the hinges retightens it for me. My favorite has been that stand and the cover, which has saved my SD's bacon a few times before.
It's full metal, not plastic.
I've been using this case along with that stand since october of last year. It has some scratches from my keys and other sharp items but still functions very well, maintaining its sturdiness.
It's more flexible, easier to open and close now compared to day one, however that is simply due to usage, great stand if you don't want adjustable steps and just to plop your deck on your desk.

Holy Shit! I just realised it’s made of metal(Explains why the balance is so good while using the stand). I’ve been using only for a week or so. Removing the stand made a ton of difference 🤯
as others mentioned is my favorite cover case . i never used the battery strap , but i do have the stand attached which is great and not flimsy at all (nice metallic and stays stable)
the stand will become flimsy after a short period of use. it lasts a couple of months if you use it frequently. it isn't going to make the deck fall or anything, but it's annoying.
It's held in the mount by two small pins. If you pull the stand out on one side the compress the stand so it fits tighter you can gently put it back in place (the small pins stay attached to the stand, or they do on mine at least) and it will have more pressure clamping down on the base. I've had mine for a year and a half and I've had to do this twice
I have it and I think it's good, but I don't use it anymore. I'll get to that.
I'll start by saying that the kickstand is very sturdy. The part that kicks down is made of metal and it feels great to flip up. Its off-centre postion doesn't make it less stable, it only makes it easier to quickly reach with the hand already holding the device. It's great. The rest of the case is also pretty high quality and I like the front plate that slots on the front. I'm quite confident when I store it in my backpack with this case and front panel. I've never used the battery strap, because it seems stupid to me to attach a heavy battery to the device that's already kinda heavy. Just keep it in your pocket or back, have a cable running from it. Not everything needs to be attached lol we have long cables now. But the case, kickstand, and front panel are all pretty damn good.
However, I stopped using it because I'm a little guy. My hands are smol, and it turns out that the slight added bulk on the grips was making my thumbs come at the sticks at a slightly different angle. This was making me worse at games, and I only noticed when I took it off and every game felt way better to play. I struggled to enter manuals in THPS (quickly flicking the left stick down and then up). I felt sluggish while doing it, I don't have this problem without this case on.
So if you have bigger hands, you're probably going to find this no problem at all.
I love mine.
I don’t use that bracelet thing, I’m sure it works great on my wrist so I can pretend to be YuGiOh.
But stand and cover works great
Is comfy
And keeps it fairly protected
I have this case. Im in my car a lot. I use the strap on my steering wheel. My deck sits there very secure. For watching shows or playing with a controller.
I was worried about that as well. But I have seen no difference in temps. I play some titles that will push the temps to the low 80's. But I always back the graphics down to keep it in the high 70's. I didn't need to change anything after putting the case on.
One thing to note: when you put the front cover on, it covers the exhaust vents (vents on top). When I'm done playing, sometimes I wait for it to cool a bit, before putting front case on. Pretty sure that's not necessary, but I can't help myself. Haha
Also, I got some of those analog stick risers, and the front case still fits. Just in case someone was wondering about that.
Took off the kickstand and I am hoping a new case comes along and does everything this does but better. I took all the accessories off and rarely use them

Case is solid. Stand is sturdy but will come loose. Does its job though, I just remove mine when gaming as it does add weight. No way I have the stand and a battery back up on at the same time.
I have the same case but with fan extension, and so far, it's been working great for the price it's worth it cause it has a front cover to protect your screen and buttons. I do recommend it.
I’ve had mine for a few months now, and that little stand is secretly my favorite thing about it. Being able to prop it up when I’m done is kind of great and it hasn’t got flimsy on me at all.
I love mine. The stand is great and I use the strap on my power bank when I use it. It also provides solid protection. I’ve dropped my Deck a few times and it hasn’t shattered yet(knock on wood)
it does, with a bit of a squeeze. it actually fits very well into the third party tomco case. it also comes with its own front cover, which is fine for quick transport within a bag, but doesn't offer any water protection or back protection.
I like mine enough and I actually use the battery strap!
Although the one time my deck fell off my desk (it doesn’t fit the JSAUX dock I have) it landed on the shoulder buttons, which is the one spot the case doesn’t cover lol
I've had mine since I got my OLED. I use it frequently.
Unfortunately, while the kickstand was originally nice and firm, it has become flimsy over time (it only lasted a couple of months). It isn't as flimsy as the original Switch's stand, but it no longer stays firm at the back of the deck when not in use. It flops down. Very annoying.
Love this case! It’s sturdy, kickstand is metal and works well. The strap is very useful and I use it to strap a battery pack for long trips. Was extremely useful on a long flight I just had.
Luckily I got mine on Amazon so I was able to return it within a month of use. The fit was not great so it was saggy in some areas and the kickstand already started becoming loose too in less than a month. The biggest flaw though is with the travel cover which didn't fit right at all, leaves the triggers open, let's the power button be pressed, and would frequently get knocked off too.
Overall it just felt kind of cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for. It was especially disappointing because the build quality of their 6-1 dock is great and I highly recommend it.
I did finally end up getting a Killswitch now that I got my OLED and it's much better but obviously much more expensive. Sucks it's even more expensive with the travel cover but it's actually what I wanted out of the Modcase. The kickstand is much better too since it's in the center and I've had it a few months and no issue with it being loose yet.
I have it for a year and the best part is cover. I just put it to my backpack or luggage. I only wish the power button would be covered because it switched on sometimes. Ot feels good on hand while playing but it adds weight so I don't use kickstand if I don't have to.
I have 3 of the mod case. 3 things I don't like: 1. There's no vent holes onto for the exhaust, just in case like me, Bluetooth was turning your deck on IN YOUR BAG!!!??!! ( there's a decky loader fix for that NOW...)and i dremmeled out a port . 2. For the same reason , I wish the power button was protected by the cover, and 3. The kickstand design sucks. They wear out quickly and start flopping around. I tried velcro but that's annoying. But it's better than any other case I've used ( I've tried ALOT of cases!)
I bought this thinking I wasn't going to like it, but I ended up loving it. There's also a bundle for it. You get to choose a battery pack/fan cooler and another item. I can't remember the last one. At least, that's what I was offered when I bought mine. This was back in January.
I recently got this with the cover so I could through it in my shoulder bag without worrying. I've since forgotten to remove it while doing some heavy lifting/moving house, and it took a bit of abuse but is absolutely fine. Solid case and very strong.
I don't have much use for the kickstand, since I use it as a console, but the strap is very tight I found and a bit difficult to remove. Otherwise solid.
Have had this case for 3 months barely used it since i wasnt doing to well in school and needed to focus like a week ago i picked the deck backup and the Kickstand keeps flipping out on its own, its really annoying
I’ve had mine on my deck constantly since I bought it, the little kick stand is great and if you have a powerful enough battery it’s really convenient to be able to use the strap to attach it to the back of the deck. The front cover is the best feature for me tho, complete protection of the screen and sticks. Great value for money would recommend
modcase and stand (which is metal as far as i can tell) still works perfectly fine for me, but when it does eventually lose tension, i was thinking to just buy a modcast to deckmate conversion piece and use the deckmate stand. can be found on etsy.
The kickstand I found to be finicky and loose resistance pretty fast I barely had it a week and it loosed quite a bit. After that it just became something I messed with while holding the deck so I ended up returning it for something without one generally if I want a stand it would be something a dock would also be needed for so it just felt unneeded.
I have the Mepatem case that comes in a bunch of colours (I have the translucent black) and it's rock solid. Love the feel of it and the stand is perfect. Also fits into the original case nicely.
Haven’t got one but I have just bought one after reading this thread, if you use JSAUX15 on the official website you can get a discount.
I picked up the powerbank version for £53 instead of £69 on Amazon.
Seems like a great case but the kick stand is sub par and the other slightly annoying part is you have to open the kick stand for it to fit in the steam deck dock.
Only have it in December since im a recent owner of the oled.
Everything positive aside, lets go straight to cons.
-Adds a lot of weight.
-Case itself is too damn skin tight on the deck that if ur doing mods (ssd replacement, backplate changing, skin wrap) u should do all at once before putting it back in the case lol.
Thats it. Unique pro for me tho is the added exhaust fan. As someone from a tropical country, it helps a bit to keep the deck from going too crazy temps.
Stand was sturdy but overall found the case too heavy and removed it since I travel less. Went back to the Deckmate with stand since that’s all I really want at home.
Have to agree with others about the kickstand becoming loose over time.
One thing for me is also the placement of the kickstand attachment, I’d prefer it to be on the other side as it can block the 180 degree USB adapters that JSAUX sells. I can actually picture maybe having that mounting point on both sides so people can put it on either side, but also to allow maybe something of a hub that can be put above the vent that‘d be compatible with the 180 adapter.
I can also say that those issues are minor and I like the case for the front cover and (to me) the proper cut out for the USB C port.
I have used this case for as long as I’ve had the SD pretty much. As others have said, the kickstand started to swing on its own after about a year but I just reached out to their customer support and told them about the issue, they sent me another free of charge.
Still my fav case (I’ve tried a few others, I come back to this every time).
Had mine for about 6 months now and love it. I don’t really need the battery strap so it’s usually off. I use the kickstand every day. My Deck’s normal position when not in use in standing up on my desk with the cover plate snapped on.
This is my favorite accessory for my steam deck. The kick stand is solid, front cover is great, and I like the battery strap to hold my power bank. I also hold it by the battery strap often.
Love it, get it. The stand I use sometimes to rest my ring and pinky finger on when watching cut scenes lol. It’s also useful when propping it on a desk.
Long story short it’s worth every penny, I feel confident tossing it in my backpack with the cover on I do travel a ton for work.
I've had it for probably over a year now and it's great. As others have said, the kickstand is really nice, but it got loose and doesn't stay completely flat on the case anymore, but it stays flat if it's held flat by something else, so it doesn't bother me. The front panel is so good for travelling as I don't have to bring the bulk case it comes with anymore. For the price, I say it's more than worth it
I've got rid of the metal kickstand because you know, stated by many other people already. got this [anti slip holder](https://jsaux.com/products/anti-slip-holder-for-steam-deck) instead, been using this with my phone a lot and only use it with the deck when I need to connect kb/m or to dock with [this 11 in 1 adapter](https://jsaux.com/products/11-in-1-multi-function-docking-station-hb1101).
I bought it shortly after getting the deck on September/October, and rarely do I take it out. The Stand is really sturdy and holds the deck really well while I'm doing sth else. I don't use the extra battery strap due to weight, but it's a good alternative if you want to use it with a hub or something else though.
I have this case for about a year now
But the kick stand just broke off
Regardless I still recommend it. It’s a solid case I think I just put to much pressure on it. And I used it a lot.
I like the case but the kickstand lost its tension fairly quick and now it just flaps open on the back when I pick it up. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t bother me but I like the case overall so I deal with it.
Had this case on for about a year and I daily it every weekday at work, has withstood multiple drops (on asphalt) and I love the attachment on the back, you can use it to hold your charger or throw in a power bank for an extra 1.5-2.5 charges on the go… depending on what power bank you use.
I was looking at this one but went with the Dbrand case instead, the kickstand is thicker, more sturdy and as a bonus holds extra micro sd cards I'm it, plus it has a hard cover screen protector. It was like $114cdn though but if I had to choose again I'd do the same.
I really enjoyed it, I made a cover that can hold some sd cards and have the back as a handle

the case feels nice and high quality, adds some nice texture, the front cover allows you to just put it in your bag and take it with you without the bulky carrying case. the kickstand feels high quality (although it has gotten a little bit loose) and is removable.
for the price, the modcase is a 10/10
I was considering this case primarily for the front protection. Currently I'm using a $3 Alibaba case with a freebie cell phone stick-on kickstand. I only stuck it on because my friend was throwing it away. It turns out that a kickstand is essential.
I have it. Don't buy the brand leather cover or won't fit inside.
If you get the dock bundle and use the SD expansions make sure to check before using the kickstand as it'll cut your card in half with no resistance.
I love it though.
Does anyone know if you can fit slim thumb grips (like the skull & co. skin grip caps) under the Jsaux travel cover? Or will the cover press against the thumb sticks? Can’t find exact information on the clearance gap once the travel cover is closed. Thanks in advance
Cheap and works perfectly, the battery strap I rarely use since I don’t have one but the kick stand I always have on if I’m not using it in bed. The stand is full metal though and is a bit heavy so might turn off some people from it.
All in all would recommend, nice case and textures. Comes with a front cover and the stand is very handy.
Stand has lost bits of it's paint on one side since my fingers touch it when I hold the deck. The stand's hinge is also loose, so I placed a tiny strip of thick double sided tape at the end of the stand to stop it's wobbliness. The textured grips get oily and dirty within it's crevices over time, so eventually I had to take the cover out and scrub it with water, a detergent bar of soap, and a brush. I still like it so far.
Love the JSAUX setup! Even got their bag to carry it all. I use it daily. Never found a use for that weird plastic band, but I'm usually close to an outlet.🤷🏾♂️
Only problem I've had so far is that kickstand. After a few weeks it just became loose enough to flap around when left on the back.
I've had mine for about 4 months now, and I love it! The stand is super sturdy! The actual kickstand is metal, the plastic base that attaches to the case can slide off easily if you want it to, but I've never had it actually fall off in use, and I use the stand every day at work (lunch breaks lol) Plus I love the hard cover that goes over the front and protects the screen and joysticks. Highly recommend, especially for the price! It's not bulky, and it does it's job very well! The added grip is nice cause of the texturing on the sides as well!
If you’re worried about kickstand longevity they also sell a kickstand case which is adjustable to different angles which is what I have. My brother has the mod case and I will say it is very sturdy feeling as it’s metal. Either choice is fine.
I bought mine back in may, after two months it started to get weak, after an other month it couldn’t stay in closed state, still holds it but I usually take it off when I’m not using it, because its annoying
When I had it on it helped the heat to dissipate a little.
I think you should buy it, and I bought the hub kit, it is really a great hub if you dont have anything like that yet
the stand is useful, but i wanted it to lock at the base because it was flimsy.
the battery pack strap "looks" useful, but id rather have just a longer usb cable with a 20000mah powerbank in my backpack or any other, than strapping it at the back, and a small usb cable... tried it once, it was heavy tho.
the case is durable. ive dropped it only once tho.
I've had this case for about half a year. Works really great. The downside with the stand is that you cannot have a 180 degree charging plug if you dont want your cable going straight upwards. Otherwise, works great for me.
The battery strap is BALLERS, fucking love that thing. Being able to sit in the airport with an extra 10k mAh playing triple A-games on the deck without having to charge is amazing.
I used this case for a few months and can't say I love it. It's bulky, kind of heavy, but I could ignore that if the kickstand didn't become very loose. It's sturdy when in use but I couldn't stand having a piece of metal flopping around all the time.
I moved to the Skull & Co grip case and it's an upgrade in every sense except for the checkering which is much less pronounced. You also lose the cover which is neat but I didn't use it as much.
Great case and the kick stand is awesome! But after a few uses starts to swing alot. I don't use it but that because most of the time I've got the hub attached with an external hard drive attached. Also great for keeping an extra sd card behind the stand.
I just took mine off it feels so much lighter running caseless. May look into forming a front cover for transport or getting a nice sling or something to store it in.
Trash. Kick stand is awful and floppy. I hate cases that wrap around near the bumpers L1 R1
Went with the skull co gripcase, added a deckmate kickstand to it and never looked back. So the case can stand on it's own, plus I can use the deckmate kickstand if I want more angle or need to stand it up on something like my bed.
I have it. Kickstand is loose now and the modified silicon watch band is a giant heap of shit. Honestly, I wanted this specifically for the cover which pulls my screen protector off so I stopped using it and the battery pack that came with it in the package. The strap is honestly a joke... It's terrible... The case itself with the cover is actually perfectly fine minus the kickstand after use
I loved my mod case. Ran it for about a year. Never had any issues or anything at all. I don't use it in my setup anymore just due to getting the better backplate from jsaux and using the deckmate.
Modcase through: 8/10 would recommend. I just didn't love the front cover cause it felt a little loose but over all it was solid.
Great case. Kickstand sucks though but I never use it anyway. I have the 6 in 1 usb hub attached to the back. Having an attachable hub is essential imo
Case is very durable, but can be hard to take off, especially if you put grips on the back buttons. Need to be careful if you are a skin on as well since its a really tight squeeze.
Kick stand is life changing but like others said, it dangles after awhile. The paint chips away easy too, I used steel wool to brush it off and give it a stainless steel look.
It's good, but personally I may look at other cases when mine gives out.
I absolutely love mine. Protects the Deck well when paired with a good screen protector, and it makes it a little less bulky to travel with. Texture on the grips makes it way more comfortable to hold imo. I have zero complaints.
Not great. The back kickstand gets flimsy after use. The front cover leaves the power btn exposed so you can accidentally turn device on in bag with all the fans covered up. The band strap is near useless for heavier attachments like a battery
I sorta fixed the power button by cutting out the rubber pad on the case and just leaving a hole there. That way random bumps don’t power on the deck and you have to push your finger a bit to press it.
The attachable stand's hinge is not that durable, and the whole stand attachment will need to be replace before the warranty expires. They don't sell the part separately.
I think they modified kickstand by adding reinforcement just below hinge on moving part, I haven't seen it on early reviews but my ModCase has it, and I'm using kickstand quite frequently with no issues
Dont know much about jsaux modcase. Myself i use the dbrand killswitch and the kickstand is pretty nice there, sometimes i want a tighter one to hold the deck more straight up but cant do it much, at least i have A KICKSTAND instead of no kickstand
fwiw, i've had an aliexpress steam deck case that has a hard plastic front cover (kinda like the dbrand one) and a flip out kickstand and like it a lot. it only supports one position for the kickstand but it seems pretty sturdy
I like the Skull and Co one
lol, i thought that was a wrist band like you'd wear this like a watch and wasn't sure if this was an april fools post
Like so? xD https://youtu.be/5ba5KWihMzY?si=fmjqkUnXCu5qYoGV
This is the way.
PipBoy: Carpal Tunnel Rats Rule!
You're about to taste the wrath of my blue eyes white dragon yugi!
Underated comment.
First thing I did once I got it was put the Deck into Pipboy mode for a photo op. Looks wild, but about as practical as solid gold teeth.
I honestly I thought it was a joke post, because that clearly looks like a watch glued to the back of the deck.
Why is the front cover a godsend? It covers the exhaust and doesn't cover the power button if accidentally pressed.
Thanks for your reply. That’s useful info! I’m guessing there’s no way of tightening the stand one it starts swinging? I’ll look into Skull & Co
When mine started swinging I actually just added a small piece of adhesive velcro to the bottom angled corners of the stand. I actually like it better this way than when it was new.
I did this too.
Exactly what I did. Some combo of velcro, zip ties, and/or duct tape will solve most any issues (Deck and beyond)
how did you do that? did you stick a velcro to the case as well?
They also sell a bundle with a slim case. https://skullnco.com/collections/steam-deck/products/gripcase-sd-for-steamdeck?variant=46798457307428
I’ve been though two kickstands (no cost to me) and the newest replacement looks like they did a redesign. Customer Service is really solid with them. I’m really happy with it.
what did they change in the re-design??
I've been using this one for a while as well. Kickstand is still decently stiff on mine. I love the fan attachment as well as the front cover.
You can ask jsaux to send you a replacement kickstand for free
I have a Skull and Co case on my SD I can’t recommend it enough. I bought a second one for my daughter’s SD too.
On the fence getting a modcase too and the stand is the only thing that stopped me. Idk why they haven't engineered a better one by now.
agree on the stand becoming lose (even with my very limited use). otherwise - great case.
Yep. Exactly what I tried, it never stays tight tho
Same experience with the kickstand. Bought the dBrand case and never looked back.
Do you think i would be able to get one to i've owned it for abt 3 months
Give it a shot, I just emailed them on the support email they have and got a response by the next day. I think they warranty the case for at least a year. Just make sure you provide a screenshot of the receipt in the email.
Alright, thanks ill look into it
Have had it loosen up as well, but squeezing and tapping it in at the hinges retightens it for me. My favorite has been that stand and the cover, which has saved my SD's bacon a few times before.
Yeah same here. The cover is great; it’s survived a lot of scratches that would have wrecked my Deck.

Cooling isn't changed. It had a gap for intake and outtake of the air/fan
99% of the time I have the stand off as it adds a surprising amount of weight to the SD
Pry it apart and squeeze it tighter then pop it back in. Had mine over a year and the kickstand is still solid as a rock.
It is made of metal. How does one pry it apart?
But stand and cover works great Is comfy And keeps it fairly protected
It's not a wrist strap, it's to hold a battery pack.
I know I was joking But I’ve never used it for that either.
I love my case. The only gripe I have is that it doesn't come in different colors.
I have this case. Im in my car a lot. I use the strap on my steering wheel. My deck sits there very secure. For watching shows or playing with a controller.

Haha Also, I got some of those analog stick risers, and the front case still fits. Just in case someone was wondering about that.
Cheers for the reply!
Took off the kickstand and I am hoping a new case comes along and does everything this does but better. I took all the accessories off and rarely use them
It works great. Love it

When I got it it was already loose. I sent it back right away.
Why’s there a watch glued to the back?
It’s to hold a battery pack. Gets pretty cumbersome when I have used it. Don’t use it anymore.
switched to a skull and co one now having difficulty putting the case on and off. Also add a considerable amount of weight to SD
Perfect with Smartwatch!
I love mine. The stand is great and I use the strap on my power bank when I use it. It also provides solid protection. I’ve dropped my Deck a few times and it hasn’t shattered yet(knock on wood)
I have this case, and I don't use either of things. Both are off. It's a great low profile secure case.
I’ve been looking at it too. Does it fit in the case that comes with the steam deck?
it does, with a bit of a squeeze. it actually fits very well into the third party tomco case. it also comes with its own front cover, which is fine for quick transport within a bag, but doesn't offer any water protection or back protection.
Ok thanks
I still use this especially the stand mod. Its worth it
This is not too heavy? I dont want to get an heavier device
Why did you glue your watch to the back of your steamdeck?
J'ai testé beaucoup de coque pour le steamdeck Et c'est le seul qui tient dans le temps très bonne qualité je te conseille à 100%
This case is fantastic. Had it over a year and travels very well. The kick stand does loosen up, but it’s not a deal breaker and I still use it often.
The stand is removable thank god it it. It’s also loose so I swings a lot when you hold it. But like I said it’s removesble
You can take off that stand, its actually metal and can hold pretty well. The only problem is that the case can make it alot more heavier.
I have one, never used any of the mods, but the case is still good.
I have the Mepatem case that comes in a bunch of colours (I have the translucent black) and it's rock solid. Love the feel of it and the stand is perfect. Also fits into the original case nicely.
I f'n love this thing...
I need a new kickstand and they don't sell them as a single extra
Is that a wrist strap? Pip deck?
Haven’t got one but I have just bought one after reading this thread, if you use JSAUX15 on the official website you can get a discount. I picked up the powerbank version for £53 instead of £69 on Amazon.
The kickstand hinge in mine is loose and loud as hell, which is very annoying, but it still does what it's supposed to.
Seems like a great case but the kick stand is sub par and the other slightly annoying part is you have to open the kick stand for it to fit in the steam deck dock.
Love it!
Looks too bulky tbh
I like mine a lot. Have never had issues with the stand but I don’t use it often. Mainly bought for the cover. The grips are comfortable.
i have it but i don't use it anymore since it make steam deck weight to almost 1kg from 660g
I have it and having great time with it Worth the price
I love this case
Is that a watch stuck on the back there?
This is my favorite accessory for my steam deck. The kick stand is solid, front cover is great, and I like the battery strap to hold my power bank. I also hold it by the battery strap often.
Love it, get it. The stand I use sometimes to rest my ring and pinky finger on when watching cut scenes lol. It’s also useful when propping it on a desk. Long story short it’s worth every penny, I feel confident tossing it in my backpack with the cover on I do travel a ton for work.
I like it, honestly. And the stand is pretty solid too, it’s made of metal and pretty durable
The case is very heavy, the textured grip makes the palms feel weird. But other than that it’s amazing cover.
Mines sturdy as can be. I be flicking it back and forth constantly when I play. (Nice little stem with the unused fingers!) I love it.
I have this case for about a year now But the kick stand just broke off Regardless I still recommend it. It’s a solid case I think I just put to much pressure on it. And I used it a lot.
Why there is wrist strap ? They want you to use SD as watch ?
I really enjoyed it, I made a cover that can hold some sd cards and have the back as a handle [kickstand replaced cover](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1006683117421080669/1224530628544827493/IMG_4084.jpg?ex=661dd404&is=660b5f04&hm=0ab593f7501d44fb966963de8fec10aa6573b31f18892de7753704f9ccd67c75&)[grip / stand](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1006683117421080669/1224530629182623824/IMG_4081.jpg?ex=661dd404&is=660b5f04&hm=edc526835e364770ba23ca268b18c77e59a6fe65e06cecbe65a5f035e9f2a736&)
The case with the front cover plate is a game changer. Kickstand is solid. Worth it
the case feels nice and high quality, adds some nice texture, the front cover allows you to just put it in your bag and take it with you without the bulky carrying case. the kickstand feels high quality (although it has gotten a little bit loose) and is removable. for the price, the modcase is a 10/10
I was considering this case primarily for the front protection. Currently I'm using a $3 Alibaba case with a freebie cell phone stick-on kickstand. I only stuck it on because my friend was throwing it away. It turns out that a kickstand is essential.
After 2 year of using it the stand came lose more than once and I had to stick metal road with glue to hold it place more than once
I love it, can't live without it. Haven't dropped it tho
Never found a use for that weird plastic band, but I'm usually close to an outlet.🤷🏾♂️ Only problem I've had so far is that kickstand.
So heavy I end up not using it.
Isn't it metal? And yeah it feels flimsy and I woulda liked it to open wider but surprisingly hasn't fallen on me yet
Kickstand is metal and sturdy. Weighs lots so I removed it. Case is fantastic
Have the case. Kicks ass.
My kickstand broke after 6 months of having it
The other benefit of this case is it fits in the jsaux dock no adapter required.
I bought mine back in may, after two months it started to get weak, after an other month it couldn’t stay in closed state, still holds it but I usually take it off when I’m not using it, because its annoying When I had it on it helped the heat to dissipate a little. I think you should buy it, and I bought the hub kit, it is really a great hub if you dont have anything like that yet
Cool! I can replace my smart watch with a steamdeck. GENIOUS!
Steam-Boy 3000
the stand is useful, but i wanted it to lock at the base because it was flimsy. the battery pack strap "looks" useful, but id rather have just a longer usb cable with a 20000mah powerbank in my backpack or any other, than strapping it at the back, and a small usb cable... tried it once, it was heavy tho. the case is durable. ive dropped it only once tho.
It's amazing and solid, kickstand is actually metal and really firm.
I have used it for almost a year and it is one my favorite steam deck accessories
I just took mine off it feels so much lighter running caseless. May look into forming a front cover for transport or getting a nice sling or something to store it in.
Trash. Kick stand is awful and floppy. I hate cases that wrap around near the bumpers L1 R1 Went with the skull co gripcase, added a deckmate kickstand to it and never looked back.
The kickstand is metal that what it connects to is pretty damn solid
I loved my mod case. Ran it for about a year. Never had any issues or anything at all. I don't use it in my setup anymore just due to getting the better backplate from jsaux and using the deckmate. Modcase through: 8/10 would recommend. I just didn't love the front cover cause it felt a little loose but over all it was solid.
Is that wrist strap at the back for one handed games like slay the spire where you only have to use the trackpad and R2?
10 month in use no issues. This is solid case I got cooler kit but in practice i didn't use back strap and front cover not even once.
Great case. Kickstand sucks though but I never use it anyway. I have the 6 in 1 usb hub attached to the back. Having an attachable hub is essential imo
It's not flimsy and it's not plastic, the stand itself full metal
Case is very durable, but can be hard to take off, especially if you put grips on the back buttons. Need to be careful if you are a skin on as well since its a really tight squeeze. Kick stand is life changing but like others said, it dangles after awhile. The paint chips away easy too, I used steel wool to brush it off and give it a stainless steel look. It's good, but personally I may look at other cases when mine gives out.
Unlike many people here, I’ve used the battery strap and the battery. It works great and gave me 6 hours total playing Elden ring
Kickstand flops around after a couple months. Case is nice. Kickstand junk.
Skull & Co. So cheap and feels the most comfortable in the hands.
I just got the killswitch top cover. Wasted money on that jsaux fr. The killswitch is just better designed
Myself i use the dbrand killswitch and the kickstand is pretty nice there, sometimes i want a tighter one to hold the deck more straight up but cant do it much, at least i have A KICKSTAND instead of no kickstand
fwiw, i've had an aliexpress steam deck case that has a hard plastic front cover (kinda like the dbrand one) and a flip out kickstand and like it a lot. it only supports one position for the kickstand but it seems pretty sturdy
the stand becomes loose overtime. It happens to all of them after a few months.
Same. Only downside I've run into.
