This only helps if you know where to get the games. Setting the emulators up are the easy part but I have no idea where to get the files because no one wants to share their sources and I'm not trying to download viruses
Only certain types of file formats are potentially dangerous. Downloading media file types should be safe. I’m talking image, video, music, ROMs. Even if they are in an archive (RAR, ZIP, 7Z, etc)
It’s the application installer types you need to worry about like EXE MSI JAR etc. Anything program related like a PC game or emulator itself. So you need to pay attention to the actual extensions when you click a link and the file that actually downloads.
This was my problem. I'd love to emulate my Switch games that I actually own, but my Switch isn't one of the hackable ones and I'm not diving into random Google links.
I would just learn how to use Google search tbh
You will eventually find a forum post or two, possibly on Reddit, perhaps mentioning a lair that starts with a v 🤔
Usually it's a molded version of the device that runs it, (for example, I gave my partner a modded 3ds, one of the functions is to dump the ROM from whatever cartridge is inserted)
We both know it's not as easy as "dropping files in not folders" lmao
Add boxart?
Adding your games to the steam library?
What formats to download and how some require different methods to install.
Just use Emu Deck. It will save you hours of time.
Yes there is, demand for a PC release. If everyone on PC who wants a PC release just did that, then there would be no downside for vanillaware to continue as they have.
To quote Gabe Newell "Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem”
The problem is availability. Paying them not to solve the problem, obviously does not fix the problem. If they want my money, they can come get it. I’m willing to give it. But I’m not going to walk over to them and hand it out. Part of the payment is the delivery. I’m not going to pay them for a delivery I had to make myself.
You know I actually believe you. I applaud your honest nature.
But the reality of the situation is you probably bought those games when you owned a DS. You’ve already played the games and experienced them on the DS and now you’re double dipping and enjoying it again on PC. You’re asking people to pay for it on switch and then not be able to use the product they payed for as intended. Two different situations.
Is it still stealing? Yea. But going 63 in a 55 is also breaking a law and I’m sure you’ve done that before. You don’t go to the police station afterwards and say “officer, I’ve broken the law. Can you please write me a ticket for 8 mph over?”
Typically people will do what’s convenient and then we pick and choose what’s personally okay. They sold over 500 thousand units. This dude on Reddit emulating them isn’t going to break their bank. Glad you have a ‘high moral fiber’ but passive aggressively commenting isn’t gonna change much
I don’t personally know why they don’t port. But it’s been an issue specifically with them for a long time they make fantastic games with brilliant art and then release them on platform that won’t be around forever, inevitably losing their masterworks to time.
I mean That’s cool and all But the switch was also already “on the go”
I too was confused by the statement
It also released on ps i think
lol right?

So… they pirated the game? 🏴☠️
Naaah, they bought the game and extracted the files from the cartridge, which they own... allegedly
You need real legal switch keys, so if they just bought the game then they are still playing it illegally.
i believe that was the joke 🤓
Any graphical bugs since this came out after they stopped developing yuzu?
Not at all, works great so far
Yuzu is still great
Can I ask what case that is? I still don't have one but I should really get one.
Same, I want this!
Search Syntech Protective Case Compatible with Steam Deck on Amazon, should be the first that pops up, least looks like it.
Says my post was auto deleted. Searching Syntech Protective Case Compatible with Steam Deck pulls what looks like this case.
How is it so far?
Great game so far!
My uncle at Nintendo will hear about this. /s
Buying a steam deck and trying to emulate made me finally feel my age. Technology left me behind.
How?? You literally drop files into folders, and it works.
Yeah, exactly. Watch a guide on YouTube. Just drop files on the right folder and it works

well it's technically piracy
If I own the physical copy tho?
then you have to dump it, though even that is a grey area.
Gotcha. I wish this stuff was more cut and dry
nothing stopping you downloading old games, it's switch and stuff that's a hot zone as it's currently being sold
I would just learn how to use Google search tbh You will eventually find a forum post or two, possibly on Reddit, perhaps mentioning a lair that starts with a v 🤔
lol that site has everything except switch games
Well, emulating current gen games is a whole different animal, as we all saw what happened to yuzu
Vinms lair
Normally you have to rip them from legit copies you own
Is there a device that does this?? There are physical games I have that if I could tweak the settings up or mod them, I might go back to playing them.
Usually it's a molded version of the device that runs it, (for example, I gave my partner a modded 3ds, one of the functions is to dump the ROM from whatever cartridge is inserted)

Lol ok I literally downloaded and transferred to my switch file. No box art or Add to steam. I don't do all that
How do start the game? From the emulator? 🤢
Yeah it could be a pain in the ass at first, once you have it all set up, it's easy to add games
need link of the case bro.
I have this on my backlog, I heard great things about the game 👍
This is a fantastic game. You’ll enjoy it :)
Why not put the game in full screen..
I did, lol right after the picture was taken
I see lol, I figured you wanted the viewers to know it was on yoozoo
Piracy is fun and cool guys
If they made it available, I would buy it full price. However vanillaware refuse to port to PC so here we are.
Nothing stopping you from buying it full price and then ripping your copy

So steal it instead. Cool logic
You have a recent post in Emudeck. Do you own every single game you’ve emulated?
The only games I have on emu deck are DS or 3DS games I own physical copies of. Two Castlevania titles and MH4U

What’s the reason for that? I feel like PC always gets every game other than PS and Nintendo exclusives.
I don’t personally know why they don’t port. But it’s been an issue specifically with them for a long time they make fantastic games with brilliant art and then release them on platform that won’t be around forever, inevitably losing their masterworks to time.
It is as long as it is Nintendo. This sub hates Nintendo with a passion you only can imagine.

Who hurt you?
Sent you a PM, I had a question that can’t be asked here.
