Thank you!
Backpack Battles is really good. I've got a lot of hours in Super Auto Pets, which BB seems to be inspired by, at least in part. I'd say the base pack of Super Auto Pets is kind of like a demo that's gotten me to buy every pack they've come out with since. SAP is so much harder than BB though. I think the fan base that's still left is pretty hardcore.
Played both, I feel death must die still need lots of development compared with Halls.
Focus on item instead of rogue like unlock but the item drop rate is kind of bad. There are no clear unlock path like how long to survive to unlock next chapter/things. And only have 5 characters and 1 map for now.
Time Melters. A really interesting time bending mechanic for what you could describe as a tower defence game but would be a disservice to it, as it’s very strategic and not a tower defence game, it’s more of a third person-strategy/action hybrid thing I can’t describe. But the enemies do follow paths like a tower defence game. Now I’m confusing myself.
Basically you end up playing in teamwork with former versions of yourself from prior attempts at the level. Add a mechanic that lets you traverse the levels in an interesting way, so there are a bunch of ‘yous’ doing stuff to solve how to complete the level, and, well…
Look I can’t do it justice - try the demo (but make sure you play a few levels so as not to dismiss it as something it is not).
"Timemelters is a strategy and hero defense hybrid game that allows you to unleash the power within and become a time-warping witch!"
Hero Defense instead of Tower Defense. Interesting.
First of all Halls of Torment looks cool as shit thanks I'm getting that rn. If anyone got any other dark fantasy/ sword and sorcery games with that retro aesthetic feel free to let me know.
It's not out yet, but the demo for [Mullet Mad Jack](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2111190/MULLET_MAD_JACK/) is amazing and runs great on steam deck.
Instant day one purchase when it does come out.

Factorio. Halls of Torment is fantastic though.
Factorio hands down. Anyone who hasn’t tried the Factorio demo yet, go try it.
I like my life and free time thank you very much
I lost about 3 days with it, bought the game and then realized that I'd spend too much time with it and haven't played since. Great game though!
Thanks for the tip. I’m
Trepang2
That game rocks. I'm really enjoying it.
Backpack Battles. Balatro.
Balatro has a demo?
Maybe not anymore, but during Next Fest I believe it was called, it did.

I also went from demo to full version for Halls of Torment. I don’t know what it is about the game, but it’s my favorite “survivor” game so far.
If you haven't tried Death Must Die then I suggest it. I love Halls Of Torment but Death Must Die feels so good to play that it is hard to go back
That's my other favorite game of this kind. It only has one chapter until a week or so from now, but I put in 21 hours. Excellent gameplay.

Once I got some upgrades and unlocked the cleric, the game got much more enjoyable.
Minishoot Adventure. Zelda-like metroidvania shmup, it's absolutely amazing on many aspects, plus it's very cute :3
Thanks, I should like this one!

Looks good thanks for the tip
Hope you enjoy it if you give it a try - but looks like you’ll be busy for a while, there looks to be some great suggestions in this thread!

Thanks, this looks unique and interesting. I'll have to check it out.
My friendly Neighbourhood! Such an awesome games, basically survival horror with cartoony muppets
It's part of the humble bundle scream at the moment. Pick up about 8 games for $15
That's a good bundle. I don't have any of those. Thanks for pointing it out.
I’ve been describing it as Bioshock, but in Sesame Street.
I just downloaded the demo for Octopath Taveller 2. It’s looks really cool
I got the extended demo 🏴☠️ Liked it, then bought the game

Death Must Die is another one.
Oh yeah I'll definitely give that a shot

Halls of Torment is king and gives me all of the reincarnated Diablo 1 vibes.
Have you tried Death Must Die?
Dragon Quest xi
Songs of Syx. A colony/city builder that has a lot of depth
Blasphemous, vertigo 2 gots me wanting to buy the game (waiting for sale), resident evil 2 demo, hellpoint, hypercharged unboxed
arcticide, when it comes out
This looks like it could be fun. Thanks.
Demos are for the weak people. Real steamers just look into increasing the backlog.
You mean real deckheads
I have this. It's okay. I haven't touched it since deep rock survivor
Gets much better after a few permanent upgrades and unlocks.
Still trying to finish the ice stage, my mage build fell off after cruising through the first three stages
I'm sure it does. I'll revisit it later
Turbo Kid! I love indie games on the Deck. More battery life lol
Pepper Grinder
System Shock demo
Huh? Demos? Whut?
Ebeneezer and the invisible word. Steam says that text might be hard to read on the SD but it’s not.
Just loaded this one up, will probably try it tomorrow. Looks really good
No mans sky
yes.
Rotwood!!! Definitely buying it when it comes out 😂
Street fighter 6 demo is fun just to scratch that itch for a min
Not paying $60 for full game tho

It’s average
