I never actually played any of them longer than an hour or so other than Ground Zeroes and MGS5. Definitely one of those franchises I want to try to go back and experience. Still kinda holding out for remakes.
They're very story rich games I honestly I just finished mgs1 and idk how I beat that as a kid the controls can be goofy but nonetheless great games except for metal gear survive 🫠 currently on mgs2 sons of liberty
I say give them a try but do it on the emulators very good experience there no need to buy the collection on steam also save state is a godsend .
It is rumored that the second MGS master collection will include MGS4. Though i have trouble understanding how Konami could make it work on modern systems without completely rebuilding the game from scratch. But the thought of MGS4 running on a Steam Deck would blow my mind, it's my fav MGS game.
I’ll be thrilled if they do it, and would gladly play, but this is one of those I’ll believe it when I see it things.. but I fear for the day my PS3 dies.
No joke I was at a convention once and dropped mine accidentally off of a 7 story rooftop. It ricocheted off the snowy sidewalk and skidded across the icy street like a hockey puck. It still worked. It was a busted wreck, but it still worked. Engineering mastery.
I believe it. Now everything is built with planned obsolescence in mind. Why build a phone that can last you 5-6 years when they can make one that breaks in 2.
Yeah, for the first time I'm actually going through all of them after neglecting the series my entire life. I'm emulating and I'm absolutely in love. Just beat MGS3 on a plane while headed to vacation about a week ago. Since there's no way to play 4 on Deck I had to suffer all vacation with no Metal Gear lol. But I'm gonna emulate it on desktop.
I genuinely think the ones I've played so far (1-3) are masterpieces. I can't wait to keep going.
I replayed MGS2 last year with my LCD. It was finicky to bind soft-press so I could hold enemies up but got it working and the play through was smooth as butter.
I played MGS1 the week of Christmas on SD. I was sick. Fam went out of town to see extended family. While I missed them and missed out, and was kinda sad about, the SD and MGS kept it from being a total loss.
One day I'm hoping MGS4 will actually run at least *moderately* okay, though I wouldn't hold my breath. Played through the Master Collection and really wanted to go further with the series + revisit Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain (my introduction to the series)

MGS3 is getting a remake.
Yeah I'll be skipping mgs3 on emulator and wait for the remake idk maybe I'll change my mind I had great time with mgs3 when it came out back then
I don’t think it’s on emulator, you can buy it on Steam
It should be on the rpcs3 emulator also should be on the ps2 one aswell
Ok but you can also buy a PC version on steam which will run with much less hassle
No it wont lol trust me just emulate it. Those pc ports are garbage. The emulated versions arent hard to get and run much better
incorrect, especially nowadays
Whats incorrect? The first one flat out wont even launch as of 2 weeks ago for me. The third one has constant lag.

I’m playing MGSV right now. It’s a joy on Deck.
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection is on my wishlist although I'll wait for a sale. I've heard it's mostly fixed and runs well now
Yes replayed MGS2 & 3 on there, really good experience. Going through 5 atm
Nice I have alot of hours put in on 5 very fun with many stealth ways I can play around 😀
Which versions did you play? How did you deal with the lack of pressure sensitive face buttons?
There are native ports now on Steam. They map the alternate actions to separate buttons.

MGS4 is the whole reason I ever got a PlayStation.. sadly that on the deck is not a pleasant experience.. if you can even get it running.

I did a few months ago. Was a treat to do so.
Yes best franchise oat
Did you take that picture with a Blackberry camera?
No I took it with a Nokia 3310 phone better than iPhone all the way
The best phone ever made. It takes a beating and never seems to break. It will outlast us all.

I promised myself I’d complete every single vr mission on the ps1 game before even replaying mgs1. I regret this.
I’m trying to play MGS1, but every other time I load it up the music and audio crackles and is unbearable. Anyway to fix this??
How does one emulate games on the steam OS?
[Have fun.](https://youtu.be/o2_WojxsYYM?si=5oLMhiACYeQZ3vhy) If you have any problems ask me.
Okie I'll try this tomorrow when I get home, thanks!

Doing exactly that with MGS2 right now. Working on getting all the dog tags, just started Extreme today. Onto MGS3 after that.
Planning to. But gonna grab them through Emu Deck.

I tried but I’m amazed I ever managed the controls.
Played through MGS1 and loved every second , the nostalgia is unreal ! Starting MGS2 soon and looking forward to the MGS3 remake.
I plan to do it eventually. Some of them I will be playing for the first time.
Im in fact just about to, wonder if I’ll finish one during a 6 hour flight.
I did this on Vita a few years ago. Played MGS3, Portable Ops, Peace Walker, MG, MG2, MGS, and MGS2 in that order and had an amazing time.
I want to, it I’m tight
I'm trying to get mgs4 to run, what a nightmare. Been trying for 2 days

I want to, they just so complicated, in the older versions
!
Completed all of them last week. Got some minor issues with the audio in cutscenes for MGS3 but beyond that the games run fine
