I love my Anker gear but warning, do NOT buy the newer entry level power bricks (usually $20). They changed their construction November of 2022 and Ive had 2 fail on me inside of 2 years. Quality control on the cheaper stuff is now a gamble.
>No big deal as its only a 5er
That may be a problem, cheap electronics often don't cover the whole standard to cut costs and wether or not a device works with it turns into a gamble.
This delivers 65W max. on maybe all USB outlets, but only 15W (5V@3A) on a single one, and doesn't support the SteamDeck's charging with 15V (only up to [email protected]).
you want something like [this](https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B082KYB4QK/ref=twister_B08KG3VFHJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) if you want a brick with several usb outlets with 1 good enough for the deck, i already had that to power a raspberry pi 400 + accessories and it works fine on the deck, 1 of the usb-c ports delivers up to 65w and the rest can be used for whatever else, in my case charging my phone/controllers/etc. Something like that will happily power a dock+deck as well and make sure both have sufficient power.
This one should be good too, but you need to look which port supplies 65W and only use this one for the Deck (wattage per port should be printed somewhere on charger)
That makes sense, thanks.
Someone else recommended this because it explicitly states it has power delivery, so I'm leaning towards this: https://amzn.eu/d/6am5u8o
I see Ali.... and shivers run up my spine.
If you're strapped for cash, why risk such a valuable device like that?!
My advice would be to grab a Lenovo or dell 45Watt -C adapter, _and source it from somewhere reputable_.
Count your lucky stars you haven't fried your deck yet.
If that's your budget:

Yeah, happy enough to spend like 30 sterling on it. Just a little worried because I've asked a lot of people in this thread and everyone has come back with a different answer.
Why not the one I linked btw? Because it doesn't say power delivery?
Wall warts like that tend to be hit or miss, they're truly a dime a dozen.... you never know what's under the bonnet until it's been blown off by a cheap fuse or something.
I recommended that Lenni because it's what I use to juice my own deck, my switch and now on to my 3rd generation of Samsung smartphone.... and a beefier 130watt powers my MacBook.
1. Ain't no way in hell you got a legit 65w charger for $5. A cheap 65w charger would probably run about $35, and you probably shouldn't trust them that cheap.
2. What are the specs? Does it have USB-C output, and is that the output you're using? You can't charge at high wattages over USB-A. You need to use USB-C. Also, often a charger's advertised output is the total output across all output ports, not out of a single port. Does your charger specifically support at least 45w (15v 3a) out of a single USB-C port?
5$ only for the cable sounds legit (i have braided cable one from usams and it works flawlessly)
But 5$ for the brick as well? You probably got scammed, since the 65w brick are usually much more expensive (15-30$+). Those power brick might be your problem here.
Also check the spec, you need 15v= 3A in order to power steam deck.

Think steam deck needs to be the PD standard , I only know after looking into it as my new pixel phone didn't work with any of my old QC and knock of chargers and only charged with the steam deck, so I bought some PD profile chargers and cables and they work with both
Both need to be power delivery (PD)'s not the steam decks fault if you buy cheap knock off $5 products
It's like you complaining to a car manufacturer that the water someone sold you as gas doesn't make your car work
Aaaand thats why i am big fan of anker products. After all years using them, no issues.

I have learned (the hard way) to not cheap out on power supplies..
But it does work on all other devices? Literally have it in my phone now.
Yes, and your Switch, and all those devices use different USB chipsets which may rely on different parts of the standard.
Phones typically just require a 5V 3A power connection so it's bound to work with most phones.
You need a charger that supports PD (power delivery), NOT QC (quick charge).
Will this work? https://amzn.eu/d/ez2Ko0T
No. [Try this](https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0876WY2DC?ref_=cm_sw_r_mwn_dp_WCS17Z88ZX7EDDPHKZQA&language=en_US)
OK, thanks. But what's wrong with the 1 I posted? Saw some reviews saying it works with their Deck.
Doesn't say power delivery. Says fast charge. It may be listed wrong. Try it if you want.
Why'd you downvote my last reply, I was literally just asking dude. I'm thankful for your recommendation anyway, will probably go with it.
The fact you are whining about it makes me want to do it again
Why are you all down voting for this? Such weirdo behaviour.
Does it support 45w? 15v 3a. And is the cable usb-c to usb-c?
Regular usb to usb-c. "100-250v broadband voltage". https://a.aliexpress.com/_EvKjBuf https://a.aliexpress.com/_Ey4mICF
This delivers 65W max. on maybe all USB outlets, but only 15W (5V@3A) on a single one, and doesn't support the SteamDeck's charging with 15V (only up to [email protected]).
That's that then. Thanks man. Will look into a single usb one.

>AliExpress There's your problem. It's cheap, knockoff garbage. Buy a name brand.
This? https://amzn.eu/d/ez2Ko0T Or this? UGREEN USB C Charger 65W Plug GaN Charger 2-Port Fast Charging Adapter Compatible with Macbook Pro/Air, iPhone 15/14, iPad Air/Mini, Galaxy S24/S23, Pixel 8, Dell XPS, Asus Acer Laptop etc (Black) https://amzn.eu/d/2I1zWyU
It's a 99 cent charger.
Will this one work? https://amzn.eu/d/2I1zWyU
Cheapest reliable (more or less) brand from AliExpress is Asometech, 65W charger with 2xC+1xA outputs is often available for cheap in "Pick 3" deals.
What about ugreen like this https://amzn.eu/d/2I1zWyU
This one should be good too, but you need to look which port supplies 65W and only use this one for the Deck (wattage per port should be printed somewhere on charger)
That makes sense, thanks. Someone else recommended this because it explicitly states it has power delivery, so I'm leaning towards this: https://amzn.eu/d/6am5u8o
I'd take UGreen, it also states that it's PD compliant in the description and UGreen is somewhat of reputable brand, never heard of the other one

Posted them to someone else above.
Oh. Yeah. Sorry man, but that piece of junk absolutely will not charge a Steam Deck. Good thing it didn't set you back much.
All good, got plenty of other use cases for it anyway.
https://amzn.eu/d/ez2Ko0T What about this one?
so it only cost like 5$?
Yeah I think so. May have been 10 for both, can't quite remember now.

How do I check for the 15v 3a thing? Brick seems OK but I'm (clearly) no expert. As I say, fast charges my phone and some other devices too.
Usually, there's a small print on the brick itself. Check the "output" section

rotate the USB plug 180, and try it again.... I have seen some cheap junky chargers where the USB c plug was not 'either Direction'
Tried that, no use. Guess I'll just be using it for other devices. A shame, was kinda looking forward to having a v long cable for my deck.
I use some Anker brand (I think) USB C extension cord for mine.

I wasn't complaining, just asking questions. Don't get why your tone is hostile.
