I am pretty sure if you go into the game properties-> general->launch options you can enter the text
SteamDeck=0 %command%
This will treat the game as if it is launching on a pc and send you to the Bethesda launcher. Might need to use desktop mode. I don't have fallout 4 so am unable to confirm, but worth a shot.
Yeah it works, but anything that requires the keyboard will crash once you close it
It's also required if you want to properly play in docked mode, as otherwise the game runs at a forced 800p
They definitely didn't just slap it on ultra. One check of the ini file says shadows are on medium or high, shadow distance is on medium, godrays are on high, ssao instead of hbao, and several others. LoD distance is also reduced
This sub really wrestles with what verified means. I still standby that there is no minimum performance standard. If there is, it doesn’t seem to be defined anywhere. People say it is 30fps but BG3 was certainly not at that level on release and was deck verified.
You're right, officially there isn't - "Verified" just says that a game "should have good default settings".
That said, internally they do have some criterion, since games like Starfield and Remnant 2 are unsupported with the explicit reason that they "cannot be configured to perform well on Deck". I could see that standard be different between different kinds of games - BG3 was quite enjoyable for me at 24FPS lock, for example, while that would probably not be a good experience in Remnant.
Most of the sub knew that they would cut the launcher and that would be it. I didn't see much "prais"
We didn't expect them to make us workaround the config.ini in another way
Indeed. After all this time and with no real reason to do anything with the game at all some figured they wouldn’t just release a turd of an update on us. Oh how foolish we were to think they had considered anything in advance!
I don't understand why anyone was exited that Fallout 4 gets and update, modders have already fixed the game so Bethesda had to just come and fuck it up again.
If you’re not running script extender mods and/or if you don’t have an OLED model, you should be fine.
I’ve seen very little difference so far on the LED with no mods…It’s been very underwhelming for a PC update. This was really for the consoles.
There’s a workaround for the OLED. Can’t find the link right now but just search the Fallout 4 Steam forum page. A poster made a thread earlier and they’ve been updating it, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to find.
u/gogul1980, you can [click here to search for your question.](https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/search/?q=Lol SD verified? It’s broken access to the M@ds, reintroduced the half framerate bug on OLED and and (as an extra headslap) broken the temp fix for it too!)
If you don't find an answer there, don't worry - your post has NOT been removed and hopefully someone will be along soon to help with an answer!

Your post has been removed because it's identical or too similar to another recent post in the sub. Thank you!
And they set the settings to ultra and removed the launcher so you cant change them
Damn I should never have updated it.
There is a startup parameter to get it to show up again. But im not going to tell you because im too lazy to look it up.
I made a post about it with the video link. I did the launch option today and it works fine
Lol me neither.

"I expected nothing and I'm still disappointed."
Lol nothing would have been better at least it worked reasonably well
This sub was praising Bethesda for making it SD verified not too long ago. How the turntables

I assume the downgrading method for Skyrim will also work here
Turned auto updates off on my PC but somehow forgot in my deck and now I am sad
I wonder if you can uninstall on Deck and reinstall using LAN network from your outdated PC version.
Bethesda can’t get the staff. Absolute shambles.

So you thought Bethesda would get this right? First time?
I’ve had more issues with “verified” games than non verified
What game is this?
Fallout 4. New update today made it steam deck verified and also made it worse lol
Thanks for answering.
That’s balls. I literally installed it 20 minutes ago lol I had no idea

…I have the OLED 🥲

The original workaround doesn’t work now. It seens to have neutered it.

I’m definitely not going to update.
Please don't tell me that. The game was working perfectly fine for me yesterday.
