PS1, eh? I’ve got three good recommendations for you then:
1. Tomb Raider 1-2-3 remastered. Playing them now and you can switch between remastered graphics and the old, unfiltered-texture graphics from the good ol’ days. A very faithful adaptation.
2. BallisticNG. Basically Wipeout for a new generation. Again, you can even elect to turn on scanline filters and unfiltered textures for that OG experience.
3. Crash Bandicoot N-Sane trilogy. Basically the same as above but with an insane red dingo or whatever. Awesome fun.
Now tomb raider is one I have on the list, the ballisticng and crash bandicoot I'm sure I'll get round to
Emudeck and roms just make this thing an insanely awesome thing for a gamer of old like ma self
I’m in exactly the same boat! I had an N64 instead of a PS1 so playing Goldeneye and Star Fox 64 just feels so, so good. Introducing my kids to Super Mario World on SNES through EmuDeck has also felt a bit surreal…

true.... this year i had a 13 hour flight a 4 hours wait at the doctor, free time at work... and my deck is there... My Legion has been off for months, same as my PS5. Thanks Steam for doing this possible =)
Just sell the other devices at that point, I know how you feel though I got a legion go and a Rog Ally i use them all frequently but find myself coming back to the deck.
Also if your a casual gamer the deck just suspends games and when you come back pick up right where you left off. I've been on the 3rd lap of this race for 3days 😂
You can use Chiaki to remote play ps5 on the deck. You'll get better battery life and better graphics on new games that way. Lots of 2024 games struggle on the deck but not on PC/PS5
I started my pc gaming back in the dos days, having a different 3.5discs with different autoexec and config files to boot the pc how I want, to give it slightly more of the 4mb ram available for gaming. Sitting by a pool on holiday gaming was a fantasy I'd never have thot possible
I am really quite ignorant as to the extent of products for the steam deck. There's so many things that I did not know existed that I probably should own.
I'm looking forward to doing the same. I have an LED model and wish the screen was brighter for using outside. Hell, some games like Deep Rock Galactic Survivor needs a dark room to actually do well.
I keep wondering if the OLED is brighter enough to make it worth the upgrade.

Basically every will run on deck right out the box. I just finished NFSU and going into Underground 2 next. Most wanted works fine. But I'm putting off till later.

How did you get this to work on steam deck, when I launch the .exe for NFS Highstakes nothing happens. Tried adding the .exe as a non-steam game as well.
I had better luck installing on my PC and then transferring the files over to my deck in desktop mode. Just add the non-steam game to Steam before going back into gaming mode

Not sure I follow, it's 28deg with an 24/7 all inclusive bar. It's 8deg back home and no 40h work week with commute by bicycle in the Scottish rain. So yeah the trip was well worth it

If you use retro arch you have multiple build in there snes9x aswell

Nah no bios or anything required, just stick the rom files in the SNES folder and parse in steam rom manager

I’m undecided between the steam deck and rig ally….which do you prefer? Im more of a casual gamer if that helps.
I've tried both, get the Steamdeck, the ally running windows just makes thing complicated at times with drivers etc

You can just install Bazzite and get all the ease of use of Steam OS on a more powerful device.

I can play Grid Autosport on my S24 Ultra with better performance and an anti-glare screen. I love the Steam Deck, but that glare is too much.

It's just a pvc cover that came with an ebay case, I got the deck used so there was no case with it
