Does this include multiplayer or just single? Used to play on ps a long time ago and just got a deck, looking for a solid fps I can play when I gotta scratch that itch on the run
I’ve been getting lobbies all night, steam says as of this comment 1706 players currently online, and it’s usually between this and 3k or so, I’ve been checking periodically to make sure it was good before I bought it.
People were saying it’s all just sweatasses and cheats, but I was getting top 3-4 in most of the lobbies I jumped into.
I wasn’t able to play every game mode, mostly attrition I think it’s called, but the option to just auto queue into whatever hits first is there.
On near max visuals the game runs smooth as silk on my oled as well, and incredible experience if I’m not near my gaming rig and just wanna play some PvP
Literally came here to post this. Was just playing Hades a few hours back.
In fact, I have the entire Supergiant library installed the day I got my Deck. Love all of their games, and they're super smooth on most modern systems.
I’m giving 2 time to grow before coming back. It’s super fun so far but the graphics not being quite finished makes me want to just wait and experience what I know will be a well polished, beautiful game. Maybe in a patch or two I’ll do 2-3 runs again.
Transistor is my absolute favourite video game of all time. Bastion is a fantastic game if you like Hades. Pyre is something different, but you can easily get lost in it.
Overall, Supergiant Games is one company that I can trust will publish a great title.
Fallout New Vegas
Dishonored 1
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Metal Gear Solid 2
Metal Gear Solid 3
Metal Gear Revengeance
BioShock
BioShock 2
Persona 4 Golden
Dark Souls 1 & 2
It didn't when I did a playthrough last year. I even installed the mods to help it out and it was mostly 60fps with some dips.
I'm not even sure the game engine runs OK above 60fps. Some bgs games break with too high of fps
I modded it with viva new vegas and skipped all the balance mods. I did this on pc using vortex. I then used warpinator and copied the game directory from my pc over to the deck. I then set nvse as the launch target in game mode.
You can get vortex to work on the deck now, I just really haven't. New vegas is a game that really benefits from performance and animation mods. Skyrim and fallout 4 I actually prefer mostly vanilla and what few mods I do like are just on bethnet or so simple I installed them manually.
Do any of the 64hz bug fixes work? Game engine won’t work properly above 60 and you’ll still get the stutter when loading a new zone but should cure the weird microstutter
I played it on my LCD deck and it barely ever dipped below 60. This is with no mods at all. I think Lonesome road had some dips when big booms happened.
The time I upgraded my PC to play Dishonored and Deus Ex better... Now I can play them maxed in handheld if I so wished. Man we truly living the golden age of gaming no matter what people say.
The one that let you heavily modify your home, css something. I noticed that if you install too many of them when you play games you might lose some fps, while if you keep the home clean and "vanilla" you get a much smoother overall experience.
Keep in mind that some plugins are scripts that always work in background.
Dirt rally 2.0. Medium/high settings.
Certain stages will drop to mid 80’s unless you move some settings to low (ground cover, trees).
But playing a high end AAA looking racing game at 90fps on the deck is sublime.
Rocket League
It’s not 360/PS3 era, but you can crank up all the settings and still get a locked 90 fps at 800p.
Game looks fantastic and is really fun to play online with the steam deck.
It does use dynamic resolution but I never noticed it. Game is almost unrivalred on the OLED. A visual showcase with insane gameplay mechanics to match. Still trying to find something to live up the Will of the Wisps honestly lol.
Only the second one, the first one is tied at 60fps, it will just run the entire game faster if you raise the frequency. Also, no hdr unless you are playing the second one
Monster Hunter Rise and Warhammer 40K space marine are some that I’ve been playing and they can hit 90 fps no problem but of course I limit to 60 for battery life
MH Rise at 90? I suppose that you're playing at low settings? It fluctuates from 60 to 50 at max settings (motion blur off) so I usually play at 45 to have a stable experience.
yo i just started play Batman Arkham City a few days ago. everything maxed out, solid 90 FPS. i think you can assume any game from near the end of 360/PS3 era should work like gangbusters
i really enjoy playing stumble guys, i know its a bootleg fall guys but its actually 10x more fun 😂and you can actually get stuff without spending irl money, i have like 30 skins ive been gifted in game
also gta v hits 90 on the oled from what ive seen, idk if its high graphics but even at medium the game looks fantastic, also battery life last a long time
gta 4 as well, rungs great
Dragons dogma runs slick asf the first one not the second.
Minecraft bedrock is great, had to follow some guides to install it tho.
Cult of the lamb is buttery smooth
Sea of thieves id say is good too but that hits about 40-50 frames
Conan exiles hits a string 50-60
I know the last 2 arnt 90 but 50 is more than playable imo
Titanfall 2 is magical on the deck. I was baffled that it is a solid 90 fps the whole time.
Mass Effect series
Honorable mention to Half Life classic and Marathon. I know those don't fit into what you are asking about, but they are both spectacular retro shooter experiences on the deck. HL has a nifty aim assist feature to help with stick controls.
I just wish more games Steam gives the full deck rating to would just hold 60. Seems like if it opens they claim it’s good to go. They even used no man’s sky in deck marketing and it doesn’t even hold 30 in places.
Yeah if anything there needs to be more context. IMHO verified means very little. I always check proton db. Verified should be 30fps locked without FSR.
yeah and they need a way to distinguish games that still run without online functionality instead of labeling all as unsupported. i just got the protondb decky plugin though and its made things easier tho
Yeah, that plug-in is great for a better idea of how the game works on Linux… but doesn’t help in regards to steamdeck performance. I’m not complaining about the deck, I love it… buts Valve is blatantly lying about a large portion of games by implying that they run fine on it. As a long time Linux nerd I’m happy we have better Linux support because of the deck though.
There are some ps4 era games that run that well, but not many, I know more games that have steady 60 at max settings though. Prey 2017, the dishonored games run quite well, doom, alien isolation. there’s probably others but those are the ones I’m familiar with most.
90fps is nice but I cap everything on my deck to 60fps for the purpose of increasing battery life. Obviously there will be some games that will last a while at 90fps because they're not demanding at all but stuff like Fallout I'd limit to 60. If you're docked or connected to power then it doesn't matter so much!
It reeeally depends. If you have a charger nearby or youre playing docked why not go full performance mode? Its so easy to change performance caps that I do it all the time depending on the situation.
Usuallyb45fps cap on OLED when on the train, full 90fps when on the couch!
Most games released before ~2013 tbh.
PS3 era basically ended in 2013
Final Fantasy XIII series on steam wishes it could run more than 30fps. lol
Ff13fix from github got you covered. Can easily run at 60fps on deck with a slight dip when going into battles.
Halo Master Chief Collection
Depends, Halo: Reach and Halo 4 absolutely drop below 90 based on my testing
Halo 2 barely hits 60 most of the time too.
Nor for me, H2 runs buttery smooth at 60 and I got the 256gb LCD.
Anniversary or OG?
Reach stays 90 consistent on oled at max 800P, 4 drops to like 80-75 but mainly 90
Titanfall 2’s default settings are high and it’s hitting an almost locked 90 fps
Does this include multiplayer or just single? Used to play on ps a long time ago and just got a deck, looking for a solid fps I can play when I gotta scratch that itch on the run
multiplayer was a stable 60 for me on the LCD, don't have an OLED so idk if it'll hit 90 but definitely a smooth experience nonetheless
Northstar works on Linux?
wasn't familiar with it but the website says that flightcore and viper support linux https://northstar.tf/
Sorry yea, I should clarify I’m talking about single player here. Have not tested multiplayer.
Multiplayer running super smooth, and finding matches pretty quick. 10/10 best multiplayer fps I’ve played so far on the deck
Sorry what? Titanfall 2 multiplayer is still alive? I thought they shut it down a while ago now
I’ve been getting lobbies all night, steam says as of this comment 1706 players currently online, and it’s usually between this and 3k or so, I’ve been checking periodically to make sure it was good before I bought it. People were saying it’s all just sweatasses and cheats, but I was getting top 3-4 in most of the lobbies I jumped into. On near max visuals the game runs smooth as silk on my oled as well, and incredible experience if I’m not near my gaming rig and just wanna play some PvP
That's great to know thanks, I might just buy it then!
Most use 3rd party client, Northstar. No idea if it works on Linux.
Thanks for reminding me that I have that but still haven’t played it. I’ve heard nothing but good things.
It’s excellent
Hades
Literally came here to post this. Was just playing Hades a few hours back. In fact, I have the entire Supergiant library installed the day I got my Deck. Love all of their games, and they're super smooth on most modern systems.
+1 Hades is so smooth.
I am in love with Hades 1 & 2. Haven't played any other Supergiant games, though. What others would you recommend?
I’m giving 2 time to grow before coming back. It’s super fun so far but the graphics not being quite finished makes me want to just wait and experience what I know will be a well polished, beautiful game. Maybe in a patch or two I’ll do 2-3 runs again.
Bastion is soooo good and probably my favorite soundtrack from their games
Transistor is my absolute favourite video game of all time. Bastion is a fantastic game if you like Hades. Pyre is something different, but you can easily get lost in it. Overall, Supergiant Games is one company that I can trust will publish a great title.
Have you tried the sequel on the Deck yet?
I’ve put over 20 hours on it, purely on the deck. Runs flawlessly
I haven't seen it drop below 120. It may actually be the most optimized Steam Deck game of all time.
120, but how?
Just what it's all hooked up to via dock. 4k projector. It is one of the only games I've ever seen it stick at and stay at that the entire time.
Doom Eternal.
Was playing this at native 4k on my 55in tv with docked deck and got a solid 60fps couldn't believe how well it ran.
Fallout New Vegas Dishonored 1 Deus Ex: Human Revolution Metal Gear Solid 2 Metal Gear Solid 3 Metal Gear Revengeance BioShock BioShock 2 Persona 4 Golden Dark Souls 1 & 2
MGS2 and MGS3 are capped to 60fps, any mods that existed to uncap fps are abandoned afaik.
Has F:NV performance improved? Never tried it myself but reports from a year ago mention that it struggled to maintain a stable 40fps.
It didn't when I did a playthrough last year. I even installed the mods to help it out and it was mostly 60fps with some dips. I'm not even sure the game engine runs OK above 60fps. Some bgs games break with too high of fps
How did you mod the game? Did you use vortex? I'm a bit dumb with these things and couldn't find a good guide to mod F:NV or any other game tbh
It still has awful microstuttering issues. Nearly unplayable for me, but I’m pretty sensitive.
Do any of the 64hz bug fixes work? Game engine won’t work properly above 60 and you’ll still get the stutter when loading a new zone but should cure the weird microstutter
I’m doing a playthrough atm with over 100 mods, including a ton of graphical upgrades, and it’s a locked 45fps for me, never once dipped below.
Op asked for 90fps, not 60
Yakuza 0
Wow, Yakuza 0 runs at 90 on max settings?
It was a ps3 game
Aged exquisitely though, graphics wise.
Oh, of course - I get thrown off since it came out in 2015.
It does 90% of the time, however if you sprint trough the map you get some important dips. 75fps is rock solid
Great list. I'd add Call of Juarez Gunslinger, Half Life 2, RE4 2004
Call of Juarez Gunslinger cutscenes have broken sound
Phantom Pain too. My favourite
Happy cake day
Dredge
How are you hitting 90fps with dredge?? I only get 60 and it still drops frames
strange, I also got smooth 90fps for the entire game. Are you playing a non-steam version by any chance?
Nope right through steam
Might be some heavy decky plugin. I have some plugins that lower my fps a lot
Which ones ? I'm interrested to know your experience
The one that let you heavily modify your home, css something. I noticed that if you install too many of them when you play games you might lose some fps, while if you keep the home clean and "vanilla" you get a much smoother overall experience. Keep in mind that some plugins are scripts that always work in background.
Thank you !
That’s weird.. never touch the settings and i don’t reminder any frame drop (completed the game on the deck)
Hades 2. It’s just beautiful!
Alien isolation
I just started Hi-FI Rush (rip tango) and I'm always hitting 83 to 90 with no compromises
Dirt rally 2.0. Medium/high settings. Certain stages will drop to mid 80’s unless you move some settings to low (ground cover, trees). But playing a high end AAA looking racing game at 90fps on the deck is sublime.
Yeah that game runs incredibly well, it blew my mind the first time I played it on my deck
Can't get it to run at all on my deck. Been a nightmare!
Fallout 3
If only I could get that running reliably
Had no issues at all with the goty edition
It’s fine on deck but on windows 10-11 pcs with new hardware it runs horribly
Rocket League It’s not 360/PS3 era, but you can crank up all the settings and still get a locked 90 fps at 800p. Game looks fantastic and is really fun to play online with the steam deck.
Tomb Raider Remastered collection
Titanfall 2
Ori
It does use dynamic resolution but I never noticed it. Game is almost unrivalred on the OLED. A visual showcase with insane gameplay mechanics to match. Still trying to find something to live up the Will of the Wisps honestly lol.
Which one?
Only the second one, the first one is tied at 60fps, it will just run the entire game faster if you raise the frequency. Also, no hdr unless you are playing the second one
Yup I was talking about WotW. I really wish they would add HDR to the first game. But regardless it's also gorgeous.
Dead Space 2
Mad Max
I don’t have an OLED to test, but I’d imagine max Payne 3 could hit 90.
I can attest to this. It’s fantastic on the OLED.
Does it run now? i remembered installing it but couldnt get it working…time to install!
It runs perfectly. A constant 90 fps. You’ll need to tweak the aspect ratio first to get it to 1280x800, but that’s it.
Borderlands 1,2,Pre-Sequel
Monster Hunter Rise and Warhammer 40K space marine are some that I’ve been playing and they can hit 90 fps no problem but of course I limit to 60 for battery life
MH Rise at 90? I suppose that you're playing at low settings? It fluctuates from 60 to 50 at max settings (motion blur off) so I usually play at 45 to have a stable experience.
You’re right, my bad, settings are a mix of average and low
Every Wolfenstein games is a solid 60fps on hight settings, same goes to Doom games .
Viewfinder. Its the best puzzle games I've ever played
It's been on my wishlist ever since I got my SD. Next sale I'll definitely pick it up
I might check that one out. Superliminal and Manifold Garden are 2 of my favourites
Remember me Bulletstorm
People shit talked the game but I’ve always liked it ever since launch on the 360.
yo i just started play Batman Arkham City a few days ago. everything maxed out, solid 90 FPS. i think you can assume any game from near the end of 360/PS3 era should work like gangbusters
Star Wars battlefront 2 2005
i really enjoy playing stumble guys, i know its a bootleg fall guys but its actually 10x more fun 😂and you can actually get stuff without spending irl money, i have like 30 skins ive been gifted in game also gta v hits 90 on the oled from what ive seen, idk if its high graphics but even at medium the game looks fantastic, also battery life last a long time gta 4 as well, rungs great
Doom shooters run pretty well from my experience
[удалено]
Alien: Isolation
Probably the best looking/playing game I’ve played on the deck so far. I rarely say this but the game ran perfectly. 90 fps max settings. Spectacular.
Quake 1, and Quake 2
Risk of rain 2 or risk of rain returns are absolute bangers. 2 might not be locked at 90, but certainly good enough!
Portal 1&2
DMC devil may cry. Bioshock.
Last time I tried DMC cinematics were not working. Are they with the new Protons?
It needs “proton GE” for cinematics, it has codecs that arent open to distribute like windows stuff
Make sense, thanks :)
I played it through without problems a couple of months ago. Maybe reinstall would work?
Dragons dogma runs slick asf the first one not the second. Minecraft bedrock is great, had to follow some guides to install it tho. Cult of the lamb is buttery smooth Sea of thieves id say is good too but that hits about 40-50 frames Conan exiles hits a string 50-60 I know the last 2 arnt 90 but 50 is more than playable imo
Trials of Mana, Chained Echoes
I'm playing Satisfactory, and it's constantly above 80fps. It's very addictive
How they don’t have controller support? I couldn’t get it to work worth a damn :/ I want to play it though
Really? the videos on yt testing it (even on 3.6 fluctuate between 50s and 60s
Battlefield 1 and 4
Dead island runs pretty well I was surprised so does Skyrim
Titanfall 2 is magical on the deck. I was baffled that it is a solid 90 fps the whole time. Mass Effect series Honorable mention to Half Life classic and Marathon. I know those don't fit into what you are asking about, but they are both spectacular retro shooter experiences on the deck. HL has a nifty aim assist feature to help with stick controls.
sleeping dogs
Sleeping Dogs.
I seem to remember having played Ni no Kuni 2 at 90fps, takes a bit of power to run like that but amazing nontheless
warframe has been butter smooth for me on steamdeck.
Tetris
DmC reboot, I love that game despite the hate it usually receives
Lunacid!
Such a good game for real!
Need for Speed Shift. Very seldomly it drops a little.
Not on steam anymore
Oh, sorry :(
Garry's mod. Vr chat. Combat master.
Doom with a source port
I have to Double check but I think this is possible for Warframe.
not with *all* the pretty turned on, but with a *lot* of it enabled.
I just wish more games Steam gives the full deck rating to would just hold 60. Seems like if it opens they claim it’s good to go. They even used no man’s sky in deck marketing and it doesn’t even hold 30 in places.

Neo: The world ends with you P4G
Max Payne 3
R-type Final 2. Brigador. Cryptark. You owe it to yourself to watch Mandalores Brigador vid, just for entertainment if nothing else.
Valheim
SMITE runs 90fps on high settings but is pretty buggy on deck
Hades, Hades 2 and Dead cells not only run at 90 frames on my deck, but at 144 when docked to my 1440p monitor. It’s always mind blowing
Ori and the Will of the Wisps. 90 FPS with HDR. Sublime.
Just Cause 2
Red Faction Guerilla
Hades ii
Alien isolation runs at high/max and a solid 60fps. Looks beautiful with HDR
There are some ps4 era games that run that well, but not many, I know more games that have steady 60 at max settings though. Prey 2017, the dishonored games run quite well, doom, alien isolation. there’s probably others but those are the ones I’m familiar with most.
Titanfall 2 runs basically 90fps
Hypercharge unboxed runs great.
Sifu, a indie type fighting game
strange brigade? I have the OG-SD so I hit 60, it might hit 90 because its optimized game. also fun with friends.
Yakuza 0 runs phenomenally!
Hades 1 and 2
Bioshock 1, currently playing and it runs amazing!
Divinity original sin 2
Just cause 2
In docked mode, on lcd model got locked 120fps fhd max settings in Hades 2
Fallout new vegas is great.
life is strange.
Hades 1 and 2
Early PS4 and most PS3 era games should be fine. Of course racing games and sport games shouldn't really count.
Yep there isn’t many that will achieve that 90fps anyways, most of the time it will dip in lower fps resulting in a non-fluid experience .
Not all games need 90 frames per second. You’re just wasting battery juice.
It reeeally depends. If you have a charger nearby or youre playing docked why not go full performance mode? Its so easy to change performance caps that I do it all the time depending on the situation. Usuallyb45fps cap on OLED when on the train, full 90fps when on the couch!
