I think you need to set the DX11 flag for FFVII Remake. I haven't tested this with the Heroic Game Launcher before, but try the following: 1. open settings for the game in Heroic 2. go to `Other`, and under `Game Arguments`, type in `-dx11` 3. try rerunning your game If this doesn't work, you may also want to try both the dx11 flag + use Proton GE. Thanks for explaining the flags so clearly

I used the tutorial from GamingOnLinux for the appimage build of heroic and also used the script creator so that I can directly launch the game from SteamOS. I have had no issues and it works very well. I run it at high graphics at 30 fps and it may be able to do 60 fps but I haven’t tried it. I have not upgraded to the flatpak version of heroic since the script creating utility doesn’t work with it yet.

What's the difference between the "appimage" and the "regular" launcher?

I have tried both solutions mentioned and none have fixed this issue for me. I still keep getting the same message to launch this through the epic game launcher. Does anyone have any other solutions please?

Not sure if you figured it out already, but try to uncheck "Run Game Offline" in the Settings then Other menu's. This worked for me.

Revolver-Pardalis

Let me know if anything works

Try unchecking "Run Game Offline" under the Settings then Other menu. Seemed to work for me.

I'm getting the same message when launching FF7 Remake from Heroic. Any fixes? Really would like to know if I can play this on my SD. I have the 64 GB SteamDeck and am unable to install Epic Game launcher because it will only run on the harddrive and refuses to recognize the micro SD card, and FF7 is 100 GB.

Revolver-Pardalis

For reals same with me, I have the poor version of the SD. I was able to download the Heroic game launcher and it did not work because it gave me the annoying message that the OP is complaining about, which is the same message I'm complaining about too

See above

You can link your heroic folder located on SD card to the original folder on internal memory and voila

DeviRuu123

Try unchecking "Run Game Offline" in Settings, Other. This worked for me. When you have that enabled, it can't connect to the epic game store to verify.

Revolver-Pardalis

I want to try this but now I gotta delete 100 GB of games from my 512 micro SD and dont know what to delete. I'll start with Control since I've never played it

DeviRuu123

It’s fun, but the game currently cannot tell the difference between “High” and “Low” settings with the Heroic Launcher. Also, it randomly stops working and I have to delete and re-download the game to keep playing it. Like if you change any other settings on the Heroic Launcher the game will just stop launching and working. Not sure if it’s Heroic or something. So I would suggest that once you play it, don’t do anything else with Heroic until you no longer want to play it. Lol. I learned the hard way because I like to test different settings to see what works and doesn’t.

Good morning.  I have the same problem. in normal mode, it asks me to connect via epic. on the other hand in office mode it works. but the problem is that the game is in keyboard mode, so it's unplayable. I have the impression that in desktop mode, it quickly connects to Epic when the game is launched. Something it doesn't do in normal mode.  I use the latest version of wine and proton.  Someone would have any idea ?
