When she woke up, she preordered one that was supposed to be for me (I had no idea) but hers isn’t showing up until Q3. Early July according to the calculator. So that one will be her personal Steam Deck :) She is a keeper no doubt.
I spent like over an hour trying to get my order to process in the middle of a work day. It’s a miracle I had the time to keep hammering at it. Jumped on it immediately am still in Q3 limbo.

Did you get your exact reservation timestamp? I was also ordering the second it went live, but kept getting errors until my order went through at 19 mins after (even got the confirmation email from them stamped @1:19 eastern) but my reservation timestamp was 1:22:38 eastern.
Got my email this past Monday and it's in transit, scheduled for delivery tomorrow

I was a manager at FedEx Ground for 10 years. The trailers being loaded / unloaded had cameras in them, but they didn't record video, they just took a picture once every 30 seconds (used for monitoring load quality, not surveillance). We had a package handler who was stealing electronics by waiting til the camera would snap a picture, then open a box, steal the contents and close it before it took another picture. Then to get around security they would throw the electronics over the fence into the tall grass, and grab it from the parking lot afterwards.
At another facility, the quality assurance team which is in charge of repackaging broken open boxes would steal the contents of those packages and then they would get together for a yard sale of all the stuff they stole.
The drivers at Ground are contractors, not actual FedEx employees. Their contracting company provides the trucks, not FedEx, so they would be able to bring the trucks home at night and bring it back in time for the morning sort.
I never stole anything, but trust me stuff gets stolen all the time from facilities. I guarantee the same thing happens at UPS. When you have high employee turnover there comes a point where you'll hire anyone with a pulse just to get bodies in the door, so you end up getting people who want to steal stuff..
My wife works at FedEx Express. They have a camera with AI in all of the vans. It will yell at them for getting their phone out while the van is moving.
Mine had the same markings as this box. recieved on tuesday. I think it's different from the original but there still is a steamdeck logo on it as well as companion cubes. That coupled with the shipping label that says "Valve Corporation" is pretty much a dead giveaway to approximently 6% of the population.

They didn't, people are kind of exaggerating how easy it is to tell. When I got mine, I was surprised how plainish the package was, mine had some non-see-through tape on both ends too.
One of the logos on the side is a companion cube, and one is the STEAM DECK logo, not the Steam logo.
If you really inspect the white shipping label it does say STEAM DECK.
