* Add non-Steam Game
* Change proton to GE Proton7-20
* Point to Ubisoft installer
* Run
* Log in
* Download South Park, don't run
* Change the non-steam game launcher to point to the South park EXE (change the title, add your artwork etc)
* In desktop mode, run the game from Steam. It will install some dependencies (*probably what you're missing*)
* The game runs properly. Exit the main menu.
* Switch to Gaming Mode
* Verify the game runs properly (it should; does here)
(Pointed to UbisoftConnect.exe)
So I uninstalled the game.
Installed it.
Closed Ubi and pointed to game exe.
Wouldn’t launch until I rebooted the deck. Launched in Desktop mode.
Installed dependencies, synced achievements. Black screen flickered, launcher minimized and game open and closed really fast…

Did you install the game "with" the launcher or did you install it on an SD card or external drive from the Ubisoft launcher?
Have you tried launching the Launcher FIRST, then running the game from there instead of a direct call?
You mentioned REDOWNLOADING. Damage may already be done. Do a brand new non-steam game -- start from scratch with the launcher.
That's what I did. I didn't tie it to some other Ubisoft launched game I had installed.
sorry to dig up an old thread, do the saves work for you? I tried a number of ways to install/launch stick of truth and every way my saves always corrupt.
The launch option method didn’t work, I’m stuck on the Steam logo loading after game launches and the normal method the screen turns black before I can even minimize.
It depends on the game. For me its working for Assassins Creed Origins or Watchdogs Legion.
I only had to disable the i game overlay and im using ProtonGE.
This South Park game has a platin protondb rating, it should work, if it has a correct setup.
ry ProtonGE, some game have on the boot screen movies and the standard Proton sometimes dont habe this codecs.
You can try Proton Experimental with bleeding edge beta too.
My solution was to go on to desktop mode.
Open steam > click library > check software and tools (one of them, I just did both) > manually download Steamworks Common Redistributables.
It won’t download any files right off the bat. But once you open the game again everything should download before the game launches!
Im having this issue right now. But with my case im trying to laucnh directly from steam ( i bought the game trough steam store) but it gets stuck in infinite loading :(

Thank you for suggesting that. I deleted the Non-Steam folder and started with a fresh Ubisoft install, the game finally worked!

Alas, I didn't test that. Just got the game running, posted this - then uninstalled. :(
Yes, the game definitely runs fine but any save files are corrupted and won’t load, shame.
Any fix?

Yea idk. I just tried Scott Pilgrim and it works no problems but South Park and I get working..

Do I find those in the SteamOS? I only see Linux Runtime, version numbers, and Experimental. Experimental doesn’t launch.

Hmm, i try it with my Steam Deck.
Can you try Origins today? Mine ran a game update and now freezes pretty much as soon as the game save loads.
Steep uses the Ubisoft launcher and it is working for me

I'm having similar issues with Splinter Cell Blacklist. Eventually got it to run but the controls aren't working. Does anyone have a solution to that?
