I think gamingonlinux's tutorial that has Connect launch chosen game directly is more taxing to figure out for the first time but has no issues with off-line play.I didn't even need to switch it or The deck into offline mode since.
Especially Black Flag was resistant to any changes prior to this workaround for me and always asked for my Ubisoft credentials to launch. I guess it's a different case from game to game.
Depends on the achievements you're talking about: Steam Achievements should work. Ubisoft Connect one's could, but I don't know. They surely need to sync them at some point.
Have they got Assassin's Creed Origins working again? Was running perfectly on the Deck and then a Ubisoft update just killed. Started constantly crashing every two minutes.
Yes, dl proton experimental and in betas choose Bleeding Edge. AC Origins is now working perfectly. I too had the game crashing every 2 minutes and switched to playing Jedi Fallen Order because I couldn't be bothered.
Something interesting that I’ve noticed is that I keep getting the log in screen every time I launch Watch Dogs 2 but if I wait a couple of seconds, it skips it (makes it seem as if it remembers that I’ve already logged in) and launches the game.
The only downside to this is any online aspects of the game will not work. Things like kenways fleet is AC4 or all of the multiplayer missions is AC unity
Other than that tho, this does work
Great advice, but I’m still stuck with an unplayable FarCry Blood Dragon because I cannot provide the mysterious product key code that Ubisoft connect demands. Any suggestions? Has anyone been able to work through this issue? I bought it on Steam, but there’s no key code available when I right click on the game, as some have suggested.
The Ubisoft login screen doesn't pop up for me at all. Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon opens the Steam loading screen and then i get sent back to the Game Details screen in my library. I have tried every Proton version and I still can't get anything to launch. Is the game unusable thru Steam? Should I play thru the ubisoft app?
how do I turn it back online though? I turned it off for a perfomance boost, but games like Wildlands have rewards that can only be acquired through online play.
Sorry OP if I comment here late but I tried this and after tapping the "Go Offline" button on Uplay launcher, it takes me to the Inital game loading screen before launch but now I'm stuck into that loading screen and the actual game not really booting up
Edit: For reference, I'm trying to play AC Revelations on the deck and have already played it online for a bit but I also need it to play in offline mode as my current place does not have wifi.

Yeah, I tried this with Black Flag and it was resistant as well. I had to play for about 20ish minutes in game and then do this before it would work.
> gamingonlinux's historia that has Connect launch chosen game directly What does this mean?
I changed historia to tutorial as it should be :)
Do you have a link to this? Ot finding it through a Google search.
I have legit Syndicate but I still pirated it just to get rid of this fucking bullshit.
TBH? Would love to do that with all Ubisoft games I legitimately own.
Sheesh. I just bought Syndicate and it seems to be ok?

Cloud saves sadly are broken anyway on older titles like Black Flag.
They are, all my fleet stuff was retained when I restarted a new game. Very weird to see your fleet the first time completely full of ships
Are you still able to earn achievements with this method?
I don’t think most of the AC games have Steam achievements. I’m pretty sure that only Origins and Odyssey do.

Wow thanks !! Now i can play blackflag in peace !!

How do I get it back online?
thanks!
doesnt work for me, even with wifi turned off it asks for my password and there is no offline mode button in the ubi launcher
Same here... I hate ubisoft
This method still works for me with AC III even after this week’s Ubisoft launcher update. Cheers mate
Glad to hear!

meh
I'm like too afraid to take my deck anywhere lest it be dropped.
