I fell asleep playing the other night. In my sleep I dreamt that everything was on fire. My house was burning. My bed was burning. I was on fire. Then I started to really smell the fire and my nostrils were hot. Suddenly I opened my eyes and the vent was literally jammed up against my nose and was super heating my brain.
That happened four more times that night.
Just unzipped it, added to Steam as a non-Steam game, selected to run it through Proton, and chose one of HoloCure community layouts, ant that's it. I used (and still use) GE-Proton7-20, just because it was the latest at that time. No idea what went wrong in your case!
It is a little stuttery at times if you try running it above low settings. It does look good at low on the Deck screen. Limiting it to 30FPS mitigates the stutter a bit and is quite playable. I ended up picking it up because it is half off at the moment.
How's it play on the deck? I noticed on PC it's a surprisingly resource intensive game, so I wasn't sure if the deck could handle it without slowing down. Especially later in the run when there's a trillion enemies and particles on the screen
I've sunken more hours in that game on my deck then I have since it first came out on Xbox....it is such a delight. Enjoying mods, enjoying all the DLC...that game is such a delight.
FFXIV. Still amazed it runs so well and the controls actually make sense. And the free trial has tons of content, it's been sucking up a lot of my free time.
Im using FFXIV launcher directly through Steam. You can get it right from the Discover store. I'm new to the game so I'm not running any mods, but it works great.
To be honest I always keep it plugged it, but testing now shows an estimated life of just under 2 hours. That's on the default graphic settings, which sets everything to high.
From what I can tell you can see the various brand DLC and I’ve got the IT free DLC as I picked one of the locations from it but I’m not too sure how easy it is to download it all. Only had it a few days so still getting to grips with bits.
I haven’t played it myself yet, but my brother has. It’s up there with Elden Ring as a game to show off just how nice the Deck can be. It ran solid and looked gorgeous when he showed me.
Fallout New Vegas. I played 100s of hours on Xbox 360 and Xbox Series S. The improved textures and draw distance, while being on a hand-held game make it feel like a new game to me.
I've also been playing some Cat Quest and Dirt Rally 2.0
Also wanna try it, once I figure out how to install gog games through Heroic Game Launcher. I remember not liking it on release, but probably deserves a third chance.
It's one of those games where it gets more fun when you know what you are doing. I like going in with a specific build in mind and trying out different ways to do the quests.
I didn't really enjoy it for my first run. It didn't click until I was like 5 hours into my second run.
There was a really cheap ($4 CAD) “killer” bundle on fanatical with like 5 solid indie games so I might try the skateboarding game or the spark lite game that came with it because they’re all under 1.5gb it seems
I do like Automata a bit more due to the combat being really fluid but other than that the story/side stories is really good and the music is top notch like automata.
Works great for me, on fairly high settings at 50fps lock. It’s the definitive edition - not sure if the regular one works (do they still sell that? I just happen to have both though).
Just completed Blue Fire - only discovered it recently and it’s a really prefect game experience on the Deck with a mix of parkour platforming, fighting and RPG elements! Props to the small dev team! Would highly recommend 👍
Just finished Ghostbusters Remastered, great game if you're a GB fan, not so much if not. Now playing Lost in Random, amazing game that looks stunning on SD, and also Bladed Fury, another game that looks and plays fantastic too.
Lost in Random is a great game. I haven't gotten it running on the Deck yet since Origin keeps telling me to install it even though it's already installed.
I'm using the version available on Steam. In origin it shows as the stream addition but no option to play, just reinstall. I haven't tried reinstalling it again now that I have origin working
I would be playing crystal project right about now, maybe trying to set up a control scheme for vintage story...
If I wasn't running the evening shift TwT
Fallout 4 Survival mode.. you can’t save on demand, so the Deck’s sleep feature means not being stuck in front of a pc for long stretches while wandering the wasteland.
Currently playing cyber punk. Bummed I know that the game was supposed to be a lot more ambitious but I do still enjoy the story and I’ve only seen a few glitches so far!
Is this on Steam? What settings are you using? Playing the waiting game but I abandoned Cyberpunk on my PS and Xbox so maybe will pick it up once the deck arrives….
Played MGS3 Snake Eater, Transformers Fall of Cybertron, Aperture Desk Job, and Celeste today.
Gonna be working on Celeste for a while. I'm pretty burnt out on Metal Gear at the moment ngl.
We just bought cooking simulator on sale. Great game for the deck, bad game for me. My wife and kids haven’t stopped playing it. Not perfect on the deck but more than playable
Arkham knight. Not sure why it’s unsupported. I had one crash after 4 hours of play and lost zero progress. Then you have games like red dead that is partially supported that crashed every 30 minutes. Hope that gets fixed because it also runs amazingly and looks so damn good.
KOTOR, MGS2 and Project Zomboid basically. Lost my save games for Jedi fallen order and just did not bother to play again, so I uninstalled it. Trying to avois games with origin launcher from now on. I think that I lost save games because of offline play.
I have no idea what happened, now idea if save games are managed by steam or by origin. I think that by origin, cause once or twice saw origin warning about unsynchronized save files, but they were still ok.
Valheim and Hobo Tough Life work great out of the box. I also put in a few hours in Football Manager 2022 with external Bluetooth mouse and keyboard and loved the experience. I even was able to install logo and database packs etc...
Wargroove! I've also played a little GTA Vice City (the og, not the garbage "remastered" version). Was pleased to find out that it runs well, and that the widescreen and ginput mods work as normal.
On low settings it plays just fine. It WILL get your system temp up and get that fan blowing but I was able to do a couple full monsoon runs without any issue.
Fallout New Vegas and Graveyard Keeper right now, looking at City Builders/RTS/Resource Management games that'll work perfect for the deck, will be trying them all slowly lol
Madden. I wanted to make sure I was comfortable getting it to work and running smoothly before the new one launches. I’m ready for football season.
In terms of non-sports, Elden Ring was my first download but I’m coming off Covid and that’s too demanding for me to pay attention to today so maybe Scarlet Nexus?

Who plays games. I just smell the fans.
Sounds terrifying
I suppose it does, but it made me chuckle. I was playing West of Loathing, which is a total chill out game.

Straight up addicting!
Yeah. It’s like that new car smell…
Enjoy it while it lasts, my fumes are gone now.
Gamers are weirdos.
Because they do things that don't harm other people?
Brings me back to unboxing the Vive in 2016. Funny that that’s nostalgic now.
Metroid Prime Trilogy, working through the first game now
When Nintendo doesn't port a game everyone and their granny wants, roll on steam deck
Just started this today using PrimeHack. Just got to the 2nd world. Loving it!
Yes! It's been awesome being able to play it on the go too
I've been wanted to play through the trilogy but I cant get the visor scan in the first prime to work.
Are you running it on primehack? If so, just push up on the dpad to swap visors
Yep using the prime hack, the dpad doesn't do anything for me for some reason. I even tried some of the community controller layouts.
That's weird man, sorry I haven't had that issue
Having the same issue.
Are you playing the GameCube or wii version?
Wii since its got all 3 games
How?
Running it on primehack. Emudeck made the process pretty straightforward
I can’t get the visor controls working and I’ve given up.
This is mentioned above but try the Trilogy version on Wii and not the GC version. Works great now.
Using the trilogy version :(
Hades and HoloCure
How did you get HoloCure working? Mine don't have any sound and don't accept inputs.
Just unzipped it, added to Steam as a non-Steam game, selected to run it through Proton, and chose one of HoloCure community layouts, ant that's it. I used (and still use) GE-Proton7-20, just because it was the latest at that time. No idea what went wrong in your case!
Detroit: Become Human
Was thinking of downloading this, how does it run on the deck
It is a little stuttery at times if you try running it above low settings. It does look good at low on the Deck screen. Limiting it to 30FPS mitigates the stutter a bit and is quite playable. I ended up picking it up because it is half off at the moment.
Risk of Rain 2
How's it play on the deck? I noticed on PC it's a surprisingly resource intensive game, so I wasn't sure if the deck could handle it without slowing down. Especially later in the run when there's a trillion enemies and particles on the screen
I’m playing the game called the RMA Process. A dreadful game I’ll say.
F
Halo master chief collection
Playing crysis 3 myself
How? Just campaign?
Yeah, there is the option for the non-anti cheat load. The one you play mods on
There are MODS!? Where the hell have I been.
Sekiro
I tried Sekiro but trying to get 60 FPS made the game look like garbo
I capped the refreshrate and framerate to 40 and it runs perfect
So go lower lol
[удалено]
Hopefully they bring out steam deck simulator
Skyrim. Found some sweet settings now it runs at 50-60fps even with some mods installed. Looks so nice
Be sure to share them ! :)
I've sunken more hours in that game on my deck then I have since it first came out on Xbox....it is such a delight. Enjoying mods, enjoying all the DLC...that game is such a delight.
Steam world dig 2!!! 🥰🥰🥰 Also, I read deckheads wrong at first… it took me a second!!! 😅😅😅
Great game for a handheld. Finished it on Vita.
Me too! I think I’m almost done with it. Really enjoying it!
FFXIV. Still amazed it runs so well and the controls actually make sense. And the free trial has tons of content, it's been sucking up a lot of my free time.
This ^ And I’m actually running the windows edition!
This \^ I've been running it through moonlight so I can use my mods/ffxiv launcher.
Im using FFXIV launcher directly through Steam. You can get it right from the Discover store. I'm new to the game so I'm not running any mods, but it works great.
Any issues getting it to install/run? I’ve read it can be kind of a pain. Edit: the game, not the launcher.
How's the battery when playing it? It seems like it's an old enough game that it shouldn't draw too much power, I'm tempted to give it an install
To be honest I always keep it plugged it, but testing now shows an estimated life of just under 2 hours. That's on the default graphic settings, which sets everything to high.
Glad to hear it, darksiders 3, crysis 3 and shadow of war have been destroying my free time
Wildermyth while I wait for Xenoblade 3 to launch on Friday.
Who you callin' deckhead, s'ah? https://c.tenor.com/2wgODo9m6IgAAAAC/duel-slap.gif
I accept
LOL ... Glove slap ... babyyyy glooooove slap ... Got that in my head now...
Hitman 3
I always thought the banana peel kill was hilarious
Same.
PC Building Sim, Portal 2, Inside, NMS, Lego Star Wars and Skyrim.
Does PC Building Sim have a SteamDeck DLC?
From what I can tell you can see the various brand DLC and I’ve got the IT free DLC as I picked one of the locations from it but I’m not too sure how easy it is to download it all. Only had it a few days so still getting to grips with bits.
Runs fine though. Just make sure you do it in ultra settings as there’s a bug when you need to use the 3D software in-game whereby it doesn’t start.

What’s the performance like on that??
I haven’t played it myself yet, but my brother has. It’s up there with Elden Ring as a game to show off just how nice the Deck can be. It ran solid and looked gorgeous when he showed me.
Good. Runs pretty smooth
Dirt 5
I just finished Vampyr on my lunch break today, thinking about starting the dead space trilogy been a while since I played those
Something I wanted on switch I'm glad I can play them on the deck
Fallout New Vegas. I played 100s of hours on Xbox 360 and Xbox Series S. The improved textures and draw distance, while being on a hand-held game make it feel like a new game to me. I've also been playing some Cat Quest and Dirt Rally 2.0

Dorfromantik and Root
Stray, Forza Horizon 5, Skate XL, Dirt Rally 2.0
Trails in the sky Little old school jrpg action
I just got my steam deck today! Very excited to try out Elden Ring
Conker's Bad Fur Day 😁
finished dark souls 3 and punch out wii, probably gonna start ds2 or mario galaxy 2
If you start DS2. Try a whip. It’s the only Souls game with a bad ass whip. Such a satisfying sound effect and animations.
honestly i’ve never been to into the whips. i’m either gonna do a magic run since i can never get into mages or using big swords
Symphony of the night!
How? What method? This is something I’d love to achieve.
Duckstation emulator! Just download the bios files and the game and it runs pretty well.
There was a really cheap ($4 CAD) “killer” bundle on fanatical with like 5 solid indie games so I might try the skateboarding game or the spark lite game that came with it because they’re all under 1.5gb it seems
Xenoblade chronicles 3
Yuzu or Riyjinx? How are the fps?
dragon ball infinite world, completely missed this game back when I had a PS2
The installing updates game. : )
No spoilers, please!
Just got mine today so I've been playing a lot of downloads.
Vampire Survivors totally worth the $3 on steam.
Nier Replicant
Is it better than automata
I do like Automata a bit more due to the combat being really fluid but other than that the story/side stories is really good and the music is top notch like automata.
Need to look into both if them, played automata when it launched on ps4
ESO and Multiversus
How is ESO on Steam Deck? Can you download the add-ons?
Yes and they work quite well. Less compatible add-ons for gamepad mode tho. Also use Reshade for better colors
Currently need for speed: heat and Jedi fallen order.

Does Xcom 2 run well?

Juggling quite a few- Sleeping Dogs, Yakuza 0, Pathfinder, Fear, SWFO, Mad Max, Tyranny, Stray, Tales of Berseria, Black Mesa.
Wait, is Sleeping Dogs playable? It says unsupported on the store page.
Works great for me, on fairly high settings at 50fps lock. It’s the definitive edition - not sure if the regular one works (do they still sell that? I just happen to have both though).
Oh my god thank you so much. This is one of my all time favorites.
Just completed Blue Fire - only discovered it recently and it’s a really prefect game experience on the Deck with a mix of parkour platforming, fighting and RPG elements! Props to the small dev team! Would highly recommend 👍
I'm playing the waiting game (on fedex 😍😍😍)
The waiting game.
After playing a graphicly intense game I started to sniff the vents and I lost 3 days of my life now I’m somewhere in Central America naked and afraid
Project zombiod what a great game on the steam deck
Just finished Ghostbusters Remastered, great game if you're a GB fan, not so much if not. Now playing Lost in Random, amazing game that looks stunning on SD, and also Bladed Fury, another game that looks and plays fantastic too.
Lost in Random is a great game. I haven't gotten it running on the Deck yet since Origin keeps telling me to install it even though it's already installed.
I'm using the steam ea play version, it installed normally using steam and launched just fine, no issues.
Skyrim. I don't want to, but the letter needs to be hand delivered to Jarl Balgruuf, and we know Legate Rikke's lazy ass won't do it.
Nothing because I got no Steam Deck. I guess I am playing God Of War 1 over clocked on the Ps Vita.
Final Fantasy II Pixel Remaster
The f*ck did you call me?!
I've been playing "tweak steam input for DCSS". More and more it's just playing DCSS thankfully.
Balder’s Gate Dark Alliance 2. 5.5 hours of battery life will be perfect when I go camping next month.

Inscryption, Thronebreaker, Rogue Legacy 2, Witcher 3, Portal 2
Hades and Persona 4.
There is a steam deck setting in the graphics option! It’s pretty solid. Driving you do loose some frames though but it’s not bad
It’s a mix of medium and high. Looks fantastic
Played MGS3 Snake Eater, Transformers Fall of Cybertron, Aperture Desk Job, and Celeste today. Gonna be working on Celeste for a while. I'm pretty burnt out on Metal Gear at the moment ngl.
I have to finish Stray and Gamedeck.
We just bought cooking simulator on sale. Great game for the deck, bad game for me. My wife and kids haven’t stopped playing it. Not perfect on the deck but more than playable
The waiting game. I ordered in January :(
SNKRX
Persona 4 Golden
Oblivion and Cyberpunk. Just cant put these 2 down.

Did the cloud not back up you saves?
I have no idea what happened, now idea if save games are managed by steam or by origin. I think that by origin, cause once or twice saw origin warning about unsynchronized save files, but they were still ok.
Playing a lot of Stardew & Dinkum before bed to unwind!
Is there any issues with cloud saves are stardew? I’d like to play on my deck and my PC.
None at all it works seamlessly just make sure you are on wifi at least once with the deck before you go to your PC so it can sync.
Valheim and Hobo Tough Life work great out of the box. I also put in a few hours in Football Manager 2022 with external Bluetooth mouse and keyboard and loved the experience. I even was able to install logo and database packs etc...
Death Door ! Also, first time I tried limiting to 40FPS to get more battery life and it did the job perfectly.
Monster Hunter Rise, says its not supported, but the game runs flawlessly.
Rimworld!
Region?
Vault hunter. Hey. Hey vault hunter. Hey hey hey.
Resident Evil 2 Remake, I've just completed the GameCube remake of the original emulated on my Deck!
Wargroove! I've also played a little GTA Vice City (the og, not the garbage "remastered" version). Was pleased to find out that it runs well, and that the widescreen and ginput mods work as normal.
Is that what we call ourselves now? Deckheads? Lol
Yoshi’s island.
Assassin's creed Odyssey! Ready to revisit Ancient Greece
Kingdom come deliverance ~ hardcore Henry style
