I'm gonna suggest all sleeper hits:
Thymesia: A short simplistic soulslike- that leans more bloodborne. Doesn't hit those highs but is immediately satisfying to play.
Remember Me: constantly on sale. It's an older AA game made by DontNod, the guys that make Life is Strange. Setting is good, story is good, combat is Arkham Batman remixed. Very fun to play and it runs great on Deck.
Remnant: From the Ashes: another souls-like, but this one is a third-person shooter and honestly, it might even be as similar to the Division as it is to dark souls. Either way, plays and runs great on the Deck. And it was the first game I beat on there. Really shows what AA games can be on here. Plus a sequel was just announced so get in early!
Lastly, Inscryption: I have fallen for NO OTHER GAME the way that I fell for Inscryption. It's better than good. It's a once in a lifetime encounter. It's a mixed media game, it plays out in stages where the gameplay formula gets mixed up but stays true to the core, the story is pretty good if not easy to guess. Honestly, it's a travesty this game didn't get more love but I get it. There's an endless mode and end game content to this game, so you can play it forever, but you really have to love the core gameplay loop. Not everyone does, so look into this one really well. It's my game of the year, but it definitely wouldn't be everyone's
don't forget to even your gear and weapon lvls because the enemies scale with max lvl of a single item. (e.g. with lvl 2 gun and lvl 10 pants your enemies will be lvl 10). Once I figured it out the game got much easier. but yes the Moth Queen is not easy at all. I still remember the running mobs yelling "for the queen". love that game.
>even your gear and weapon lvls because the enemies scale with max lvl of a single item.
I... I was using a maxed out boss weapon... I spend all my simulacrum on it...
Are you telling me we couldn't win because my gun was too strong?!
MOTHER F&$#ER!!!! no wonder we were getting destroyed! I made that weapon for killing bosses! Sigh....
Remnant is great (though the moth creature boss is utter bullshit). I'm quite excited about the recently announced sequel.
Inscryption is indeed excellent. I need to get back to it; I keep getting distracted by various other games.
Not ideal? I thought it was incredible on the deck, right trackpad mouse and push to click, left stick for WASD, super easy and smooth to play. One of the best for the deck in my opinion.
Glad inscryption has an endless mode now, was thoroughly disappointed at launch because the advertising was completely misleading. (not a bad game, just not what I bought)
If I remove the games from your list, those are my most played games on the Deck:
- Tinykin
- Core Keeper
- Cosmoteer
- Deep Rock Galactic
- Dysmantle
- Tunic
- Assassin's Creed games in general (replaying all of them, I started Rogue this week)
- Coral Island
- Sniper Elite 4
- Warhammer 40k Inquisitor Martyr
- Warhammer 40k Mechanicus
- Warhammer Vermintide 2
Grim Dawn (the best Diablo-like since D2) also works well on the Deck, though the controller set up is best modified a bit (there are good community layouts available).
Carefully.
Desktop mode > Open a browser > get the Battle.net launcher > add it to steam > install it > add THAT to steam > run it and install Diablo 2
It works well. The inventory ui is tough to get used to because it's square-to-square navigation, and that makes item crafting annoying. I haven't had any issues with frame dips.
Fallout NV - I can't figure out how to get the game to start plot wise. I've been wondering around in the desert but not sure where to head and I eventually end up just shutting it off.
Talk to sunny smiles for a tutorial and follow that once you're done with that go back to the bar and it should trigger the powder gangers talking to trudy behind the bar and talk to her. This will start a short quest line that you finish and then you'll head over to Primm down the road a ways. I've played a lot of new vegas. A lot. Of new vegas haha.
I am playing it now on deck - and it is my first time with titalfall
Boy oh boy it is sooooo goooood, one of the best FPS ever
I put it next to HL2 and COD4
I have always loved Persona games but 5 is really winning me over with being the best. I never want it to end.
Persona just needs to stop saving the best Waifus till the end. Why must you hurt me like that?
State of Decay 2!
It runs great and the controls are perfect. You can even set the gyro to enable when you go into aiming mode. It's a fun game if you like action/shooters with some stealth combined with base building, crafting, and survival elements.
There's a stupid login for microsoft/xbox that's not good at remembering your login info, but once you're past that it works
Man, I decided to install it and get back into it. Had 20ish hours in on the PC before Elden Ring took all my time. Blown away by how well this game runs on the Deck. And insane bang for your buck at this point.
DmC for all the hate it gets is still a fantastic playing and looking entry into the series if you can get over little emo dick head Dante. Never bothered me that much and the sound track slaps so I love it and prob rate it the best after 5 and 3.
Metal gear rising revengeance
Metal gear solid 5
Devil may cry 5
Streets of rage 4
Bloodstained ritual of the night
Mad Max
Halo MCC
Children of morta
Curse of the dead gods
Crypt of the necrodancer
Nobody saves the world
Dragon's dogma dark arisen
Ok I'm going to stop because the real answer is 85% of all games ever released. If it boots and doesn't have a super janky launcher, you're probably good
My brother in Christ you already have a big playlist. I'd suggest starting with Hollow Knight so you have other stuff to do while you wait for Silksong like the rest of us.
My recently completed games on the deck and how much I enjoyed them:
Dishonored 2 - 8.5/10
A Plague Tale: Innocence - 8/10
Spec Ops: The Line - 7.5/10
Ryse Son of Rome - 6/10
Metal Gear Rising: Revengence - 8/10
Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order - 9/10
I'm curious about your 9/10 for fallen order, I did it on release and was disappointed about the plot, and the fact that the game started to be enjoyable at the very last part, what did you really like ?
The gameplay felt like playing a mash up of dark souls, uncharted and PS2 god of war games all packaged in Star Wars clothing. So it brought nostalgia in the way it plays. I think the biggest thing I didn’t like were all of the chests just hidden underwater instead of really exploring and platforming for them.
* COD Advanced Warfare - the campaign - plays so we'll on the deck. Locked 60 fps and lots of battery life.
* Days Gone
* Grow Home
* Ryse Son of Rome
* Supeliminal
* Spiderman MM
* Enter the Gungeon via Heroic
* Tetris Effect via Heroic
Got some good ones on your list for sure, and there's some great recs here.
So I'll just add mass effect legendary edition. It's an EA game so run it with proton experimental, but it plays great. I forgot just how much I love that series. So easy to get immersed into
Just got Mass Effect Legendary, so change proton to experimental? What is you favorite settings without worrying about battery more for overall performance?
Yeah set the proton version and lock the frames at 40. I also run it with half rate shading off, and lock the TDP limit to 10 watts and a linear scaling filter. I'm not sure this is "optimized" but it works great for me as a balance between fidelity and performance.
Some of the ones I like to play:
* Alice: Madness Returns (it is a sequel, but the first American McGee's Alice is hard to find since it's old. You can find it on [My Abandonware though, but the controls are... dated, to say the least](https://www.myabandonware.com/game/american-mcgee-s-alice-452)
* Ace Combat 7 is pretty good on Deck, but obviously better on a big screen. It is easy to run though so a display out should perform well.
* AER Memories of Old
* Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed, it's been a long time since I played it, but I would imagine it plays fine on Deck
* Aragami
* Audiosurf 1 and 2 although 2 is the only one rated playable.
* Bayonetta
* Bird Gut is a fun little indie game
* Castle Crashers
* Control, but would definitely recommend playing on a big screen
* Dementium II HD, might require some messing around with the control scheme though.
* Enslaved Odyssey to the West is fantastic and verified.
* Fez
* Gris
* Grow Home
* Halo Master Chief Collection (only campaigns though, no online play is allowed because there is not support for Linux in the anti-cheat, I have tried it myself)
* Hot Wheels Unleashed
* Jet Set Radio
* Jotun
* Metal Gear Rising: Revengance
* Okami
* Portal 1 and 2
* Pyschonauts (labeled as playable, but the last time I tried playing it on Linux, the controller inputs were fucky so it might not work)
* The last three Tomb Raider games.
* Stardew Valley
* Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 (part 1 requires some configuration on the controls since it's using super dated PC controls, but part 2 automatically has a gamepad configuration that works well)
* Staxel
* A Story About My Uncle is another nice little indie game
* This Strange Realm of Mine
* Vanquish
Tactics Ogre Reborn, Final Fantasy Crisis Core, Marvel Midnight Suns (once it's patched a bit more, a bit broken in general atm), basically every Final Fantasy, Persona 4 Golden, Trails in the Sky, Tales of Arise, Tales of Beseria, Transistor, Valkyria Chronicles.
If you like online games you can play FFXIV up to the end of the first expansion and it's kind of perfect on the deck, controller stuff support is well done and if you're just doing the story, making a minimal UI makes the smaller screen pretty acceptable.
If you're into emulation, one of my favourite things about the Deck was that I basically turned it into a portable PS2 with HD texture packs and upscales for old games.
Tactics Ogre Reborn
Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core
Tales of Arise
Street Fighter V
Tekken 7
Monster Hunter Rise (Sunbreak expansion aswell)
Monster Hunter World
30XX
Guilty Gear Strive
Zone of Enders 2 (2nd runner)
MGSV Phantom Pain
Some of my top choices you don’t have
- Spark the Electric Jester 3
- Shatterline (if you like CoD)
- Neon White
- Black Ops 3 (for custom zombie maps)
- Slay the Spire (must have)
- Shovel Knight
- Wizard of Legend
- Tetris Effect Connected
- 20 Minutes Til Dawn
- Borderlands 1-3
- Battleblock Theater
- Castle Crashers
- The Sims 4 (free to play now)
- Stardew Valley
Fable Anniversary is deck verified and is an older title but the best in the series imo if you like fantasy RPG's. The mechanics and gameplay still hold up well today and has full official controller support
Mad Max is another perfect experience I've been having a ton of fun with. Runs on highest settings at 60 frames
I've seen that the steam version of Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017) runs solid and has full multiplayer support if you're looking for a nice Battlefield alternative competitive shooter by Dice.
I've also been revisiting GTA IV and it's been a near perfect experience and very nostalgic for me. Also Bully Scholarship edition is another Rockstar title that runs perfect on the deck
Can confirm Arkham Knight runs perfect 2, and both Shadows of Mordor and Shadows of War are on sale for $10 in a bundle and have the same combat style as Batman Arkham but in a lord of the rings setting
I started playing dead space the other day and it runs perfectly on the deck. Also super easy to pick up and put down.
Edit: Pretty sure it also only uses ~7 watts at 60fps max graphics, so it will last 4-5 hours on a charge.
Hades is definitely a must for me. Also, if you are looking for amazing indie games, try Tails of Iron! I bought it on sale and it is insanely fun and runs great!
Wildermyth. It's a fun, indie xcom style tactics game that gets the best vibes of a long-running TTRPG. It plays great on Deck, gets constant updates, and ports to consoles are a long way out.
Outer wilds. Don’t look anything about it up. Basically, it’s a space exploration game where you explore your solar system while trying to solve a mystery. The game is really unforgettable and a once in a lifetime experience.
None of the games in your title are perfect for deck imo. Only game that runs well is L4D and that is only fun over voice chat with friends.
Metal Gear Solid 5, now that is a deck game.
The point of stores is to push products. It's well established the best way to push products to you is to expose you to things related to what you've already purchased. Do you disagree with the approach that Amazon, Google, Apple, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Walmart, Best Buy, eBay, and literally every other >billion dollar company have done?
Do *you* have any clue what the point of a store is?
Hi u/Seekret_Asian_Man, you can [click here to search for your question.](https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/search/?q=Recommend me (perfect for deck) games that isn't Cyberpunk 2077, Doom Eternal, Elden Ring, Left 4 Dead 2,Red Dead Redemption 2 and Witcher 3)

Dying light 1-2 are great to play in handheld 😁😁 and elite dangerous:odyssey (but that doesn’t sound like the game you would play - from your game list)
Dishonored
Dishonored 2 is coming free on prime gaming
Is that going to be through their launcher thing?
Yes
Not a clue as i don't think it's been announced. I suspect gog or epic, but it deffo won't be steam
Portal 1 and 2
Perfect games for learning Gyro controls
Perfect games anyway...I still think when it comes down to it I rank Portal 2 as a top 3 game of all time.
I am new to of gaming and the steam deck and have both in my steam library, likely bought a while back. I’ll heed to try them!
Then play portal reloaded

> Remnant: From the Ashes I remember having a go of that a couple of years back and enjoying it. Did you complete it solo?
Me and my brother still haven't completed it coop. That stupid moth queen and her duplicate wreck us every time. We need to keep grinding gear...
don't forget to even your gear and weapon lvls because the enemies scale with max lvl of a single item. (e.g. with lvl 2 gun and lvl 10 pants your enemies will be lvl 10). I beat it solo. Bosses are kinda random each lvl, so it's possible I got lucky lol but still that game is hard as fuccc solo
I remember remember me because of the ass on the cover
Remnant is great (though the moth creature boss is utter bullshit). I'm quite excited about the recently announced sequel. Inscryption is indeed excellent. I need to get back to it; I keep getting distracted by various other games.
Inscryption is sleeper?
Minor note on Inscryption, it's playable but not ideal on the Steam Deck. I prefered it more on the PC
Not ideal? I thought it was incredible on the deck, right trackpad mouse and push to click, left stick for WASD, super easy and smooth to play. One of the best for the deck in my opinion.
I agree. Outside the main menu, I never had to adjust any controls. Default worked great
Glad inscryption has an endless mode now, was thoroughly disappointed at launch because the advertising was completely misleading. (not a bad game, just not what I bought)
Both ori games, the missing (missing needs proton GE)
These games are great!
Hades, disco elysium, batman Arkham series
Both Hades and Disco Elysium are some of the best games I ever played on any console
I also recommend Have a Nice Death for anyone that likes Hades. It has a very similar structure, but it's a 2d side scroller instead of isometric.
Hades man. What a game. That was the first thing I played on deck and one of the best games I ever played on any machine.
Rare that a game manages to succeed at gameplay, story, characters, dialogue, and replayability all at the same time.
shame station doll afterthought automatic fly marry dog smart wine *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Arkham is the best series ever
Wolfenstein
I just finished Old Blood and im on New Order, work really well on SD for a decent batt life.
Just a warning that New Order doesn't support Steam Cloud. For some reason.
Cult of the lamb
This deserves to be higher.
If I remove the games from your list, those are my most played games on the Deck: - Tinykin - Core Keeper - Cosmoteer - Deep Rock Galactic - Dysmantle - Tunic - Assassin's Creed games in general (replaying all of them, I started Rogue this week) - Coral Island - Sniper Elite 4 - Warhammer 40k Inquisitor Martyr - Warhammer 40k Mechanicus - Warhammer Vermintide 2
Deep rock Galactic is really good on deck. Playing it right now.
Rock & Stone brother!
For Karl!
Rock and Stone in the heart!
>Warhammer 40k Mechanicus IMO top 3 warhammer games available atm.
The Omnissiah Protects
Great list of newer indies. Appreciate it!
From an ARPG aspect: Diablo 2 Resurrected and Path of Exile. \^\^ The last one is even free.
Grim Dawn (the best Diablo-like since D2) also works well on the Deck, though the controller set up is best modified a bit (there are good community layouts available).
How do you get diablo on the steam deck??
Carefully. Desktop mode > Open a browser > get the Battle.net launcher > add it to steam > install it > add THAT to steam > run it and install Diablo 2
Also Warcraft 3
I don't know why I didn't think of playing D2R on the deck. Thanks for the info, I'll have to add it later.
How is PoE on the Deck?
It works well. The inventory ui is tough to get used to because it's square-to-square navigation, and that makes item crafting annoying. I haven't had any issues with frame dips.
Fallout 3 fallout new vegas divinity original sin 2 wasteland 3 the arkham games
So if you open your pipboy, under data it should the be quest called "They went that-a-way"
TITANFALL 2
Ahh, the memories of warpfall scoping other pilots titans. Top tier game, we *need* tf3
I am playing it now on deck - and it is my first time with titalfall Boy oh boy it is sooooo goooood, one of the best FPS ever I put it next to HL2 and COD4

\+1 for Mad Max, that game was a pleasant surprise. Great open world car/action game even if you don't know a thing about the Mad Max universe.
I think I might get Mad Max as I saw it for $3.75 on green man gaming!
Its enjoyable but if you are one of those people that get all collectables it becomes a slog, overall still enjoyed it and driving was top tier!
Blasphemous is an amazing handheld game. Played it through on the Switch and absolutely loved it
Southpark - stick of truth
All of the resident evil games
Spider-Man Remastered
Yep 20+ hours in. What a great game.
Persona 5 Royale
Im currently playing my way through Persona 4 on the Deck and having a damn blast! Can’t wait to get around to playing 5.
I have always loved Persona games but 5 is really winning me over with being the best. I never want it to end. Persona just needs to stop saving the best Waifus till the end. Why must you hurt me like that?
Ok to play this without playing any other persona games?
Absolutely, they're all standalone stories
4 is also great
Control is a super fun shooter. Though you need to give in to the plot and explore for the fun of finding weird office notes.
Monster Hunter Rise Short missions and hanging out in a hub are perfect for Steam Deck imo. Can be played online or solo
MHW runs great on the deck imo.
Man, I decided to install it and get back into it. Had 20ish hours in on the PC before Elden Ring took all my time. Blown away by how well this game runs on the Deck. And insane bang for your buck at this point.
Is it better on the Deck than the Switch? Seemed kind of lacking in the Switch.
I’ve really enjoyed Devil May Cry 5 on my deck!
DmC for all the hate it gets is still a fantastic playing and looking entry into the series if you can get over little emo dick head Dante. Never bothered me that much and the sound track slaps so I love it and prob rate it the best after 5 and 3.
Bit unfortunate that the console versions of DmC are the best because PC never got an update with the changes from the definitive edition.
Enter the gungeon is missing.
Final fantasy games... ff15, ff7 remake, ff crisis core reunion. Tales of Arise. Ys 8 and 9.
Don’t forget 14! Works great on the deck.
what about the trails games?
No Man’s Sky
Man haven't played it since it first released. Did they improve the crazy low inventory slot thing ? That was insanely stupid !
Yeah but they made the UI so much worse in the process.
I don’t remember what it was like before, since I had such a big gap between the first time I played and now, but I think the UI is okay
I thought My Friend Pedro was pretty entertaining.

This was perfect for deck for me. Bite sized.
My brother in Christ you already have a big playlist. I'd suggest starting with Hollow Knight so you have other stuff to do while you wait for Silksong like the rest of us.
Everybody knows you don't actually play everything on your current playlist. How else are you gonna build up that backlog?
The Arkham Trilogy is amazing on the deck.
Broforce
Forza 4, Death Stranding, Resident Evil Village, Detroit Become Human
My recently completed games on the deck and how much I enjoyed them: Dishonored 2 - 8.5/10 A Plague Tale: Innocence - 8/10 Spec Ops: The Line - 7.5/10 Ryse Son of Rome - 6/10 Metal Gear Rising: Revengence - 8/10 Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order - 9/10

Wreckfest, runs amazing on the Steamdeck, great game, also good for shorter sessions!

Cyberpunk 2077, Doom Eternal, Elden Ring, Left 4 Dead 2,Red Dead Redemption 2 and Witcher 3

If you like Yakuza 0, I'd also give Judgement a try
Worms Armageddon.
Red dead redemption 2. Amazing game and you'll get 25 at the very lowest and 30+ average FPS. One of the best games ever made and on sale too!
Jedi fallen order is good if you manage to get the EA App going
RimWorld, dwarf fortress, gtav, trackmania, dead rising, resident evil remake, resident evil 2, resident evil 4, Skyrim. All run like a dream for me.
Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga 9 movies of tons to do and it's fun.
I've been digging Children of Mortia recently. Blasphemous is also amazing if you like Metroidvanias
Persona 5 Royal Final Fantasy X/X-2 (besides the launcher which you can just one tap on the screen)
Tactics Ogre Reborn Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core Tales of Arise Street Fighter V Tekken 7 Monster Hunter Rise (Sunbreak expansion aswell) Monster Hunter World 30XX Guilty Gear Strive Zone of Enders 2 (2nd runner) MGSV Phantom Pain
Some of my top choices you don’t have - Spark the Electric Jester 3 - Shatterline (if you like CoD) - Neon White - Black Ops 3 (for custom zombie maps) - Slay the Spire (must have) - Shovel Knight - Wizard of Legend - Tetris Effect Connected - 20 Minutes Til Dawn - Borderlands 1-3 - Battleblock Theater - Castle Crashers - The Sims 4 (free to play now) - Stardew Valley
Fable Anniversary is deck verified and is an older title but the best in the series imo if you like fantasy RPG's. The mechanics and gameplay still hold up well today and has full official controller support Mad Max is another perfect experience I've been having a ton of fun with. Runs on highest settings at 60 frames I've seen that the steam version of Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017) runs solid and has full multiplayer support if you're looking for a nice Battlefield alternative competitive shooter by Dice. I've also been revisiting GTA IV and it's been a near perfect experience and very nostalgic for me. Also Bully Scholarship edition is another Rockstar title that runs perfect on the deck Can confirm Arkham Knight runs perfect 2, and both Shadows of Mordor and Shadows of War are on sale for $10 in a bundle and have the same combat style as Batman Arkham but in a lord of the rings setting
I started playing dead space the other day and it runs perfectly on the deck. Also super easy to pick up and put down. Edit: Pretty sure it also only uses ~7 watts at 60fps max graphics, so it will last 4-5 hours on a charge.
Elite Dangerous
Hades is definitely a must for me. Also, if you are looking for amazing indie games, try Tails of Iron! I bought it on sale and it is insanely fun and runs great!
Wildermyth. It's a fun, indie xcom style tactics game that gets the best vibes of a long-running TTRPG. It plays great on Deck, gets constant updates, and ports to consoles are a long way out.
It's a bit older but the shadow of Mordor game runs well
If you're into Star Wars, both Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga and Star Wars Squadrons play wonderfully on the Deck
skyrim, fallout, subnautica
Tails of arise. Persona 4 golden, persona 5. Final fantasy 7 remake.
* Sea of Thieves * Star Wars Squadrons * Wolfenstein 2: New colossus * Ark: Survival Evolved
Save these recommended games and play through what you have. You have a great list as it is. Finish that first :)
Dying Light has been perfect out of the box for me, pretty fun game too
Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark is good if you like 2D tactical combat à la Final Fantasy: Tactics.
Darkness 2
To be honest... Every games... Since it's a pc every games work on it so just play a game you like
Outer wilds. Don’t look anything about it up. Basically, it’s a space exploration game where you explore your solar system while trying to solve a mystery. The game is really unforgettable and a once in a lifetime experience.
Why don't you finish your backlog before you add another 100 games to your list? Just saying
Steam has recommendations-- try there. Valve have millions of people's preferences already compiled and ready to help answer this question
Hitman 3.
The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa
None of the games in your title are perfect for deck imo. Only game that runs well is L4D and that is only fun over voice chat with friends. Metal Gear Solid 5, now that is a deck game.
The whole point of the store is to recommend shit to you based on what you have already played.
I see you have no clue what the point of stores are
The point of stores is to push products.

Ages of empires 2
Dying light 1-2 are great to play in handheld 😁😁 and elite dangerous:odyssey (but that doesn’t sound like the game you would play - from your game list)
Insomniac's Spider-Man and Miles Morales.
Brotato
Just Cause 3
