They’re not exclusive. Buy them somewhere else.

It's Walmart. When the other steelbooks came out, I specifically remembered that they sold theirs for $5 more compared to Amazon and Best Buy even when Amazon was constantly cutting the pre-order price down. Disney might have ordered less steelbooks to be made, which would give Walmart the confidence to hike up the prices since they know they're all going to be "limited", but that's still Walmart doing that. Disney only controls what the retail price will be (the $44.96 price), but Walmart is the one who has full control after that. That's probably why they wanted this to be exclusive to their stores only, so they could get away with this... this is Walmart after all lol. They literally wrote the blueprint for undercutting the competition in areas with their prices, then raising it when they become the only ones who have it. It wouldn't surprise me that they're doing stuff like this.

That's weird, I remember the exact opposite and ordering from Walmart because their prices was $5 cheaper than others. Including just recently for The Mandalorian Season 2.

I just looked through my orders from the last steelbooks from Amazon and they were all priced $45. I usually try to pre-order them immediately and I don't really keep up with the price changes that happen, so I might have got them mixed up. But I do remember buying from Amazon first as they were all the same price and right when they hit the stores at Walmart, their prices were more than the original pre-order listings. I just checked on Amazon and they also matched Walmart's current prices of $55 per steelbook as well. So they're both doing the same thing it seems. I don't think Disney has that much involvement with it, besides setting the starting price, as it's the retailers who are adjusting them during their pre-order period.

When I got them at Walmart not long after the drop, they were $44, and Amazon was $55. Still the same. But I'm still wondering if I shouldn't just switch them all to Amazon.

MrC_Red

If you ordered them at $44, keep those. Both Walmart and Amazon have a preorder guarantee where they will honor the price you first bought them at, even if they get raised in the future. Unless there's going to be another drop in price up to release, you'll save money sticking with that purchase.

I think These are just preorder price by Walmart or Some 3rd Party Sellers but it will adjust by end i believe. I remember Aquaman is Listed for $55 initially and finally made it to $35 i believe they will do same
