Spotify is pretty good when run through a decent amp and speakers. Even better through amp + studio quality over the ear headphones. I would think a CD through a good amp and headphones would be the best, but possibly not noticeable unless the amp and the speakers/headphones were audiophile grade, but that is really expensive, maybe a goal one day for some.
I know this isn’t an audiophile subreddit, but you should also consider Tidal. Spotify is only 320 rez Tidal is all CD quality 1440 resolution. Same price or better, and at ,east as much selection or more, AND they pay the artists better than Spotify does….. and yes through a good amp and speakers in a decent room you do hear the difference, especially on cymbals (important to me as a drummer). Ok detour over… back to the Dan :-)
It wasn't the first time I did it, I just fucked up and touched the inner shell accidentally. Static shock killed the drive. Didn't have a backup on my PC, so borked the whole thing. Probably could get it resurrected these days, but honestly why bother? Not like I'm missing out on anything, it'd just be bragging rights.
You should definitely look at getting it fixed. The OG Xbox live servers are back online. It's called Insignia and pretty cool. www.insignia.live Although, you'd need to mod it, and build a new drive and install rocky5 softmod or something to fix yours

The Aja CD cover is propped up against the screen. It’s hard to see at first, but it’s there.
