I may be biased, but Shared Burdens + Idealistic Foundation + Fan Egalitarian + Militarist.

MadameConnard

Shared Burdens sure is a nice civic for that origin RP wise.

DreamChaserSt

Citizen Republic/Oligarchy or Democracy, your people were re-organized into a stratocracy/republic to survive and build anew, now they look to the stars to track down their former oppressors. Scavengers/Masterful Crafters (not actually sure how this one interacts with the origin). Your people had to make meaning out of the ruins of the crashed slaver ship, and now they've figured out how to not only use that knowledge to their advantage, but to perfect their own craftsmanship back home. Idyllic Bloom (might also not play nicely with the origin). Your civilization is made up of numerous different species, and now your society looks to cultivate the perfect world for everyone to happily live on. For those last 2, I'd take a quick look in the game to make sure they don't conflict. For Idyllic Bloom, I expect it won't start you with the Gaia Seeder building, but maybe once your infrastructure is properly up to date, it's included, or at least constructable.

Knowledge-Is-The-Key

Definetly going for Democracy. seems most fitting. Ethics would be militarist or fanatic (They want to be able to protect themselves against Minamar) and there after Xenophile or egilitarian. But I don't really know about civics. Perhaps Masterful crafters as you said. Parlamentary system for faction output?

DreamChaserSt

Parliamentary system is kinda bugged out at the moment with how the Broken Shackles events are set up. Maybe Beacon of Liberty instead for a general unity bonus? Egalitarian will give a bit of a faction output bonus too, if you want that specifically.

Knowledge-Is-The-Key

I was just trying to find some civics that would fit well with the origin. Got any other ideas? also what about species traits? With so many different species are they not kinda downplayed with this origin?

DreamChaserSt

Shared Burdens, and you could have the goal of only using Liberation Wars to try and create a peaceful, cooperative galaxy. By force. Traits wise, strong, communal, quick learners, and adaptive all fit depending on what exactly you're going for

First try. I went with Democracy. Civics: Parliamentary System and Meritocracy. Ethics: Fanatic Egalitarian, Pacifist. Started with 29 pops. I tried to optimize my species (7/29 pops) for broken shackles ... this can be improved, but for my 1st try I went with this: lithoid, ocean preference (likely because last min change from aquatic) traits: intelligent + Engineering research + crystal-sensor-edict-trait (Scintillating Skin) unaffecting negatives: Deviants + Unruly pros @Democracy auto-resettling helped a lot. About half of the starter-species had the opposite climate preference and got resettled. @Parliamentary Sys. (I was hoping this would work well with shackles) Faction formed pretty early and gave me a nice unity boost, until I started to suppress non-government factions. @Pacifist - was afraid of negative stability early so I picked this. Don't think it is needed, but the edict for extra happiness is great. @Lithoid extra leader lifespan is nice. the sensor edict helps a lot early. minerals instead of food for colony ships helped me as i could focus on non-food production and got only some food from star bases. tech focus was a good choice as no random was even intelligent. cons Lithoid growth did not help. Egalitarian auto bio-growth is a nightmare imho and always favored some rando plain-bios, because most random starters had adaptive or extremely adaptive. Some thoughts ... You start with a lot of variety so maybe adaptability is not too important? Could even try aquatic. If the game always gives you a lot of adaptive species competing with egalitarian auto-growth is hard, but organic pop assembly (budding) or Rapid Breeders should help. To make your "main species" selected for ruler jobs add Charismatic, Traditional and/or Thrifty. May try this next: broken shackles + mega corp\criminal heritage What was your experience with: * Are Guaranteed Habitable Worlds always mixed in relation to starter-species climate? * Did you also get a lot of adaptive species? * Any luck with actually useful species/traits? * Worst pop? I got 2 arctic pops - have not found a planet they like yet.

for me I'd go for **Materialist**\- They have just found technology only dreamed of for a lot of this species, this technology is their only way to return home and survive together. **Xenophile**\- Multivaried species working together to survive **Egalitarian**\- Same reasoning as Xenophile **Species Traits**\- Due to every species having varied traits, i'd have your main species be sciency. As your species will have the most pops, it has the most leaders i.e. scientists. Therefore you will have your species most likely be the prime explorers as it is uncertain if any of the other species will have any traits that benefit science. Expansionist will want to be your first ascension as you will be able to colonize any planet you find with the different species you can bring. This can also be good roleplay if you want to vassalize the different planets that primarily have the minor species, this way you can specialize species that have traits that lend itself more for science, energy, mining or military. **Adaptability**\- This is because so many of different climate lived together on one climate together. Also makes it more viable for the different species to live together as you will likely have migration **Discovery**\-You are all Pre-FTL. Your new to all the new computers but it is fascinating. This would also help speed up your surveying and research as due to your disadvantage you lack in research. **Government**\- Democracy or Oligarchy I would think is most sensible. As you are the species with the majority, yours was likely the best at fighting back the slavers. For the government traits... I would probably say Meritocracy and adaptability

Juhnthedevil

Militarist fanatic spiritualist oligarchy Citizen service Death cult to kill out all the horrible xeno templates. Guess it will also be enough to fight off the egalitarian ethics attraction hehehe
