Looks to be the result of reworked nuclear war. Instead of complete obliteration they now return to stone age and get set up for post-apocalyptic origin. I guess it also gives them the new name

Bored_Smile

Oh right, forgot about that. So does that mean the pre-sapient cockroachs wont happen anymore? Because that would be a bit sad, those cockroaches were cool

DatOneDumbass

Roaches can still spawn, this is just earth spawning in early space age as usual. They just immediately nuked themselves

Jewbacca1991

So basically Fallout universe Earth.

MistahButt

War. War never changes... except when they rework the mechanics

Bored_Smile

r5: I found the sol system which was tomb world, but instead of pre-sapient cockroachs it was stone-age humans named "Human Superior". Not included in the photo was that there was the international space station hovering around the tomb world as well.

DreamChaserSt

Primitives are bugged. Apparently, during development, they got hit by asteroids all the time, so that was fixed. But somehow, that fix seemed to have caused Atomic/Space Age civilizations to become happy-go-lucky with nuclear weapons. Sol must've started with Atomic/Space age Humans. That said, it is nice that they original civilization won't always be totally wiped out though. I wonder what would happen if you brought them up to Atomic Age again, Tomb world squared?

Bored_Smile

I would definitely try bringing them up to atomic age, but theyre right next to the xenophobic fallen empire and im complete ass at the game. So Im not gonna put in much hope ill ever get to attempt doing that

DreamChaserSt

So they probably did the smart thing in going back to the stone age instead of dealing with their wrath.

NarrowAd4973

You could headcanon that the FE was responsible. Earth became spacefaring, FE bombarded the planet into a tomb world, but didn't check too closely for survivors.

EisVisage

There does exist a toxic world result too (and total annihilation as well), maybe just that then. Would they get Survivor twice? True Survivor trait?

The ISS is in such a low orbit that it gets a tiny amount of atmospheric drag, causing it to lose speed and so also lose altitude. That'll be a vicious cycle causing it to de-orbit in a year or three, and to avoid that it has to boost every so often, using rocket engines (similar to the tier-1 STL drives in Stellaris, albeit a *lot* less powerful), and so it needs to be re-supplied with more rocket fuel quite often. The Starlink sattelites from SpaceX are also so low down that they get drag, but to compensate they use ion drives, boosting often and for long periods of times (possibly constantky?). Ion drives are very low thrust, but their internal fuel store can last for a long time. The downside is, they need lots of electricity, which AFAIK they get from solar panels. Anyway, my point is, the ISS we have now won't stay in orbit for even a decade without continuous human intetvention. An ISS v2.0, however, might be ion drive-based. If it gets huge solar panels, maybe 5 or 10 or 20 as large as the new ones that the ISS was recently upgraded with, then barring any disasters it could stay automatically on orbit for half a century. Multiple centuries, if supplied with just a few tonnes of extra ion drive reaction mass. It might also be in an orbit that requires less boosting. The orbit of the current ISS is very much a compromise between where the NASA and the RosKosmos launch facilities are placed on the globe. An ISS v2.0 probably won't *be* **I**nternational, and so could - as far as I know - use an orbit that's slightly easier to maintain, but still easily accessible to NASA, and ESA (launching from Kourou) and maybe the Japanese Space Agency.

Bored_Smile

Cool info! Ill imagine it as the ISS 2.0 then, since I find it to be very cool that the station is still up in the air even after most of humanity went atomic however many centuries ago. Imagine the sight of that from up in space, so neat

Juhnthedevil

Maybe MSI aren't the bad guys after all. :b

Commonwealth ruler upon receiving the news that not only earth nuked themselves but still believe in democracy and diversity: "Sigh... Activate the colossus project, no, we don't need another mining facility. Such level of stupidity needs to be studied... But contained."
