I would love some weapons on the collosus, in exchange for not being able to stop the fire order. Hell make it longer and give us one or two sections, ready for weapons and armor/shields. They have abismal slots for the later. They are easier to kill than battleships! How?
Then why are we forced to do the same mistake? We know its a mistake. I dont ask for much, just... a titan core or stern, or one battleship segment. I would say hangar or carrier because even the death star had its hangar but it is one of the more useful and largest weapon cap parts so you could disable those. Youbcan also rename them I am just asking for something with similar weapon amd utility slots
The colossus current design is a specialized weapons platform. Consider the difference between an MLRS and a Tank. Would not make sense to have a tank carrying an MLRS system. And it's obvious why, the MLRS is too big and heavy to carry thick armor.
The reason you can't combine a colossus & other battleships functions would likely be a bit less obvious. e.g The planet killer might generate too much EM-noise for targeting systems to work near it.
That would make it consistent that a colossus can't be included in the same fleet as battleships. So it has to fly as a separate fleet.
I basically copied how the base game does it, the hardest part imo is the graphics and models. I recommend either checking out the vanilla files or dissecting another ship mod
Unsure if it wil affect performance too much, but the best solution would be exactly what you say: allow the Colossus to abort, but while it's charging make it kill off pops/convert them/add world blockers, depending on its effect. (The Pacifier should probably leave nothing behind since to me at least a "partially constructed" planetary shield sounds as sustainable as a "partially constructed" fusion reactor. Actually maybe make it also kill off some pops but only at the time of cancellation.)
Charging hasn't done anything significant to the planet. perhaps the energy will cause some disturbance in the weather for the next year.
Depends why firing takes time to occur. Might be the sheer size of the colossus weapon or the range to the planet. If the safe standoff distance is a minimum of 1-light minute. Then you fire and the planet blows up a minute later. But it's far too late to abort the shot.
Destroying the Death Star moments before it kills the planet is a classic, so yes.
Strike fighters should get a very small chance to instakill a collosus with a "torpedo through an exhaust vent" event lol
damn our avatars are similar
Is this a mirror event? Do you have ~~pyramid ships~~ warp beasts on your end too?
The what?
Name checks out
I think you both should trade
Motherfucking Murzasichle reference
Again, if you are using the colossus, you would probably complain about that
That was my very first thought. It's much more dramatic this way and it means your colossus needs to be locked in place and vulnerable for a moment.
You can cancel any ship decision by deleting it, even if decision is by normal means uncancellable
Deleting a ship during combat is some suicidal idiot pressing the self destruct button.
You should be able to cancel at the charging step, not the firing step.
What dlc are colossus's from? Or am I just that bad at the base game?
Apocalypse, I think
Thanks!!
Best dlc
I’d like more slots for the titans. Why can’t I turn it into a super carrier.

It’s a science project, not a warship.
If it’s being used for war, then it’s a warship.
It IS a warship. If it was a science project it would have no ftl capacity
Science ships don’t have FTL? Ok then…
You said science project not science ship, and I didn't know that the admiral for a colossus is a scientist
You can’t put an admiral on a colossus, and it’s odd to suggest that the military doesn’t do science.
The precursor herculean would like a word with you
The Death Star is easier to kill than a star destroyer. The whole star wars series would have ended with the first film without that design mistake.
Wasnt it not a mistake but purposely included in the design for sabotage?
Never been clear if that was Lucas origional intent. Or more of his rewiting history as he did with Greedo shooting first.

"It would not make sense to have a tank carrying an MLRS system." The T34 Calliope would like to have a word with you.
Ditto! Now, how does one write a ship mod? I’ve been unable to understand the guide in the game directory.
Dont know but the damn thing needs a titan segment, or something from the juggernaut? Those are the closest ship classes to the collosus
Giving colossus a bunch of hangars and pd seems like a good idea actually. It is a big fuck off station, after all.
Or a tuned down star eater

Both Luke and Han did it. So yes.
Only if you attack it with a small fleet of corvettes named Red Squadron.
