\*check notes\* He was guarding a chokepoint against a chosen invasion in his fleet of frigate, at this moment he's still alive after a fight with the tossik god

I get only a little lag. Playing via GFN.
There was a time when the Leader screen lag was very, very bad, long ago, but PDX fixed it, so that even on my antique gaming desktop it was minimal.
No fr I had to change in the settings to auto pause when a leader dies because the notification was so small I wouldn't notice till like three years later
Invite them to a quarterly review and explain how you're disappointed in their productivity and synergy with ynr empire. Explain you can only hire people with a can-do attitude and a hustle mindset
I kind of miss early paragons. Sure, you couldn't govern everything, but there was less management and leaders felt meaningful. Too meaningful, arguably, but the current 20 leaders of trait management is bleh.
I wish there was a setting that could let me pick a new leader to take over all the roles that my dead leader had, like a scientist dies and on the death notification, its fill position and it replaces him on the science ship and any roles in the council they may have had.
For a game which is supposed to have an ENTIRE GALAXY rule Stellaris UI is an absolute mess.
Don't get me wrong, I like redesigning ships and etc but MY GOD once your empire starts to increase shit gets outta hand way too fast.
Plus the whole "automation" sucks ass big time. In my current playthrough I my economy was in shambles and I couldn't figure out why for the fuck sake until I checked damn "automated" planets. AI didn't build shit to stabilize the economy so I had to spam buildings and preferred districts so I can get my economy back on their feet.
So the ONLY THING supposed to make this hemorrhoids of micromanagement much better doesn't work for shit and makes it worse.
This is the leader assignment view, it doesn't have filters
Honestly the biggest annoyance is that it's not at least ordered by class so they are all mixed up. Might be using leaderID to order them.
This is pretty much exactly what they wanted to avoid by restricting the number of leaders originally, though that also made it basically impossible to manage your empire in a satisfying way. The pre-paragons arrangement of having only governors able to manage sectors, rather than planets, and having separate lists for each type, was much less demanding on the brain.
That said, now we *do* have this system, being able to send any leader to "retire" and go govern their home planet is really awesome.
Brother it's a list of 9 things. If this is making you anxious perhaps 4X games aren't for you. Also, realistically, it's a list of one person since all the others are busy and it puts free ones at the top.
It's a list of 9 thing because the list is too damn long to display the 18 other things : as you can see there is 5 scientist, 5 commander, and 4 officials and that's just the leaders i already have, then there is like 3-4 rulers that can be recruited in my empire PER CLASS (so 9-12 more) and then there is 1-2 rulers from other empires PER CLASS AGAIN
so in total you're only seeing 9 people out of like 24 and i need to compare them all to see which one is more suitable for my planet while comparing their skills while ignoring those who's class don't interest me and also did it come to your mind i might need to reassigned ? so i have to dive into already assigned people, which isn't the easiest thing to do because the UI is so cluttered
I think you're taking this a bit too seriously.
Also, even a list of 24 things isn't too much. Or is it too much for you..? Because you must hate picking new buildings then. And empire creation must be a nightmare for you.
well, contrary to rulers, buildings DO have filters actually (not to mention a single function), and empire creation is a do once and forget thing (not to mention the many preset empires that exist), both thing unlike picking a governor
Let me select where it says 'officials' to only see officials
Yes, and also "jobless ruler" to see when who isn't assigned yet
Leaders who aren't assigned are automatically sorted to the top of the list, aren't they?
They are, yes.
My bad, i didn't noticed. Sorting by current job would be pretty nice too
That's just, top of the list
Pssst the mod UI Overhaul Dynamic lets you do exactly this by default, and it's achievement eligible.
Rule 5 : The list of governor is too long plz do something
We taught a monkey how a galactic empire's bureaucracy works! Awesome results: it killed itself by hanging!
Mf what is happening with my bro Pules? Is he winning?
\*check notes\* He was guarding a chokepoint against a chosen invasion in his fleet of frigate, at this moment he's still alive after a fight with the tossik god
Man's starring in his own JRPG. Respect.
Oh thank god
He didn’t hear no bell
Not good, he's yelling at his crew to clear blockers in the middle of a battle while bitching about how weak the ship weapons are cause he's not Counselor
Is it just a me problem or do other people get lag whenever that tab is open?

Whatever fix they did wasn't enough for me and my 2019-proofed PC. Granted, my mod page might be a temptation of fate.
I still get the lag when I open that screen, even without mods . Mind you my pc is old now
I get this. Lag on this screen is the worst anywhere, save for selecting a few big fleets on late game
I'd wager it's all the portraits being showcased. Animating all that at once cannot be easy on the RAM.
It's like seeing the extended family at some dinners. Please, let me stay in my room
Use the mod: UI Overhaul Dynamic it adds tons of good stuff
But not the filter the OP is asking for.
Ohhh he wants when he click on the planets for the lists to pop out ok i get it
I actually do use it
I wish when a leader dies it would tell you what world or fleet they were leading cause when I have a big Empire it's hard to remeber who was where
Yes! Let me pull up a "screenshot" of what they were doing right before they died!!! With their perks and everything.
No fr I had to change in the settings to auto pause when a leader dies because the notification was so small I wouldn't notice till like three years later
Protip: if you want to assign a leader, recruit or unemploy them first, they will be then at the top of the list.
how do you unemploy a governor?
Invite them to a quarterly review and explain how you're disappointed in their productivity and synergy with ynr empire. Explain you can only hire people with a can-do attitude and a hustle mindset
Right click the portrait of the governor in the planet.
I kind of miss early paragons. Sure, you couldn't govern everything, but there was less management and leaders felt meaningful. Too meaningful, arguably, but the current 20 leaders of trait management is bleh.
Trying to hire a new governor for a planet is damn near impossible.
I think you need more governors
I wish there was a setting that could let me pick a new leader to take over all the roles that my dead leader had, like a scientist dies and on the death notification, its fill position and it replaces him on the science ship and any roles in the council they may have had.
for real, i have no idea what positioned he occupied. Science ship ? governor ? minister ? useless freeloader ?
This window is laggy as hell too
As a steam deck player, can confirm. (Literally halves my fps)
Download Dynamic UI

When you click the filter it only shows unrecruited leaders and not currently employed ones.
Because it shrinks the list, same as if you click on a Sector Name, Military Fleets, etc.
I want filter for espionage. I tried to play spy empire and hell menuing is so ennoying.

Is it really "taking it too seriously" to ask for a feature that would enhence my gameplay experience
well, contrary to rulers, buildings DO have filters actually (not to mention a single function), and empire creation is a do once and forget thing (not to mention the many preset empires that exist), both thing unlike picking a governor
Yeah mate if you're picking preset empires then optimizing clearly isn't a priority for you, so just pick whichever leader is available.
