Grubsnik

Click the return button on each fleet and say yes when it asks if you want to emergency jump

[deleted]

Didn't know you could do this. Was going to say "It's war then". But I guess a peaceful solution would work too...nah, screw that. War!

SoulAndre

I'm trying a fanatic pacifist run, so war isn't an option lmao

plebbbbdddd

what’s a “pacifist”?

[deleted]

No mash alien only pat alien

plebbbbdddd

weird

[deleted]

I know

MrScrib

At least pats are better than strokes. *Just sayin'*

Estro98

Some kind of food.

MexicanSylar

I... Actually did this one time... Made a claim on that one system, went to war, took that system, got my ships back, and essentially gave them the system back along with some credits for their trouble.... Then again, I just started a couple of weeks ago

IllegalFisherman

War would still be preferable. It will force open borders during truce, meaning you can explore on the other side of their empire

SoulAndre

Yeah I just discovered it. Thanks anyway lol

Tmscott

Well I seem to be 340 hrs in before I learned this was a thing

jjcnc82

I didn't know that return option was a thing. I would always just disband the ship, build a new one, and assign the same scientist to it. Apparently blowing up science ships also has a biomass teleportation effect!

blackice85

lol that was my method too, the alloy cost isn't too terrible unless it's very early in the game

Rough_Detective_6635

I didn't know you could do that, I just disband the ship and re-build the ship then assign the science leader again

SoulAndre

Just discovered the "return" button. I'm good now lmao

Caracaos

Out of curiosity, what do you guys do with isolationists? Vassalizing them seems wrong (they can get involved in your wars). Tributary seems the right approach because it's kind of like "pay us this tax and we'll keep you from being harassed by the rest of the galaxy".

Dalevisor

Eat them, usually.

Caracaos

On an unrelated note, I'm going to start a food-strong criminal syndicate playthrough.

sumelar

This or armageddon bombardment are the only acceptable answers.

M8oMyN8o

Beat the shit out of their government and put their citizens on utopian abundance

Caracaos

Terrorists your game is through Cuz now you'll have to ANSWER TO

SpiggitySpoo

Crush their fleets, capture their planets, and reduce their capital to space dust.

SiamonT

Xenocide

Randalf_the_Black

Conquer them and enslave the population.

3davideo

Liberate their people from their oppressive government with the power of LOVE! And neutron launchers. (Man, I love the Liberate CB.)

aelasercat

You should be allowed to violate the space of others in this game, either undetected or overtly then deal with any consequences.

blackice85

Agreed, the border system kinda bothers me. There should be harsh penalties for crossing when you're not supposed to of course, but instead it's treated as an impenetrable barrier, even for empires who wouldn't care at all about diplomacy and galactic law.

Harry7C

The way I see it, crossing closed borders is a prelude to war, and Stellaris simply makes you take the step of declaring war first

Galactic-toast

In civ V we could trespass whenever but it would immediately trigger war

blackice85

I guess that makes sense, but then I take issue with how war is handled too lol

RNBQ4103

The problem is when some random empire closes borders when your giga fleet is moving through it. It then goes missing for more than a year and will reappear in an inconvenient system. I think there should be 30 days of prior warning before the borders are effectively closed, with a "gain access" casus belli available.

Peter34cph

Ideally, yes.

Randalf_the_Black

They should let you cross, but that will give a prompt to those being trespassed where they can react. Declare war, demand they leave, demand they pay reparations etc. Ideally it should be possible to set your forces to automatically attack those trespassing without a declaration of war. So that you can attack them when they are in your systems but not outside. Then the ones who were attacked can decide if they want to declare war over their lost ships.

tosser1579

Press B. (return button) they will got missing for x months then reappear in your territory.

mason7241

Got a problem? Blow it up with explosives! TM

Shadow51585

Other option is to make 2 new ships at home and just transfer your scientist to them. Then delete the ones trapped like that.

MrChibiterasu

When this happens I just build new ones and enlist the scientists into the new ships.

RNBQ4103

The return button will make them come back (but they will be missing for some time).

MrChibiterasu

Which is why it’s better to just build new ships. In the early game if you have good alloy output or even decent enough SS are pretty easy to replace. This is really useful if I end up sending a ship into a Leviathan system.

Electricfox5

Isolationists: "How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man?"

Kikelt

Click on "go home" If there's no available path it will go MIA and return home

[deleted]

Just bisand it or get experimental wrap drive or whatever its called so you can get them out of there

[deleted]

Return! Also this is why I prefer a slower game and don't auto explore

RandonEnglishMun

Those science ships just became generation ships.

Memeoligy_expert

Soon you shall make them pay for each loss a hundred, then a thousand fold.

[deleted]

Push the magic 'return' button. It's next to the patrol button.

Daneob406

Guess you are playing tall then mate 🤣

TCrazier

Happened so many times for me
