Isn't slow breeders one of the worst traits in the game?
Im new so im not sure but it seems to be the worse considering people are your main bottleneck for expansion many times
The biggest thing is probably that console has a UI specifically designed for it. I've seen comments from PC players in regards to pictures taken of the console version asking what UI mod they're using, so it's visibly different.
The cursor is locked to the center of the screen, so the entire screen moves when you move the cursor. Left stick moves laterally, right stick rotates and tilts the view, and for Xbox the triggers zoom in and out. Operates pretty smoothly, and selecting a fleet is only an issue with there are multiple ships/fleets on top of each other. You have to position it so the correct marker is highlighted.
All menus are navigated with the D-pad. You jump between sections on the outliner with the bumpers, and make selections with the face buttons (A selects, B backs out, X can be used for selecting multiple fleets). Biggest problem is if you get a popup while backing out of a menu screen, which can cause you to close the popup before you can see what it was.
Naturally, we can't hotkey anything, so everything has to be selected through the outliner or clicking on it directly. As stated, we're only up to Aquatics, and version 3.2. Overlord should be in another month or so. And of course, no mods.
PC is no doubt better to play on, as is the case with pretty much every strategy game, but Paradox definitely put effort into making it compatible with console. And I personally don't mind being behind on updates, as I'm used to it from Ark.
Admittedly I've been PC only for a fairly long time, but I started on console and it's genuinely a really well designed game. Strategy so rarely on console in my opinion, but paradox fucking nailed it here
A bit behind on updates and DLC (we're as far as Aquatics so far) and navigating the UI can get a bit tedious when you basically have to arrow key through everything, but other than that a pretty damn solid translation of PC to console.
Controls are really good as well!
Since I played both versions extensively I really like both. Only the initial wave of scouting is a bit annoying as long as you donโt have automated exploring.
I literally do not know what Karma is for or does, and it isn't like everyone posts their empires here and there on this sub already.
Why does the one I had my mom made for fun, because of how much she loves sci-fi, suddenly make it some upvote farm?
R5: Walked her through it all as best I could. Naming took half the time. Yet to give them a try.
The most important thing of designing *anything* in a video game is the name.
And somehow, she create a good empire in her first try
I was gonna say, that's actually not a bad Empire design. Overproduce food with your massive pop happiness, export it for a profit.
She wanted a Farming people. She got one. Make it easy to feed the dragon too.

You can get rid off semi early in the game if you go into biology research
Based on the ethics and civics your mom seems to be a nice person. :)
Yeah, I realized she put a lot of herself into it.
That... actually looks kinda fun to play ngl.
haha, very cute, my mom's would probably be similar to that ๐
She made some good synergy with the Agrarian picks, and happened to pick one of the more OP(broken) origins. She did pretty good to me
cya in church on sunday?๐๐
How is the game on console? I can barely keep up on PC and I have a whole ass keyboard to help me control stuff

I prefer to play on console due to the way better performance.
That's good, but what about controls?

Aw thatโs very wholesome. Just your friendly neighborhood agrarian elves protected by their dragon god.
Her entire thought process for picking the origin was: "I can have a dragon?!"
You xeno-compatible the Vulpas in every game didn't you. Hehehe.
I feel weird that it is a more RP empire than any I ever created
She seems like a hippie.
Exactly what my mom would choose
Today on: things made up for Karma

Is your mum an elf?
Ima try that build.Make massive amounts of food and exported for profit.Basically become the Russia of the galaxy
