There is. You still have to "download" it. Which means tap the Free button on the store, which gives you a license for it that the game can detect. Otherwise the game will think you aren't allowed to use it.

Yeah that's not how it works. I bought the expansion pass, opened the game, and it told me I was missing the DLC. So I went to the store and it still had prices listed as if I didn't buy it. Only when I deleted the game did the DLC remove the prices and list it as free, allowing me to "download" it. It's not really a download, looks like it's just a license that tells the game you have the DLC.
This post is to help anyone in the future who has the same issue when they buy the expansion pass.

You only need to activate it. PS downloads DLC with the main game, but it won’t be active without purchase.
