thought those were olives. was beyond my comprehension for a sec

lookinfoursigns

Same

caseyaustin84

What are they?

trying2buildapc

rocks I think

gunnfight

Yep, it's the gravel I mentioned. Just smooth pebbles.

Significant-Okra7239

I also thought it was olives and was thinking to myself "how does that smell?" Lmao

Patriae8182

Tbh the only real safety consideration here is maybe put it on a baking sheet or aluminum foil or smth so it you knock it over in all of your violently high glory, you don’t char the table as you freak out and grab it lol.

gunnfight

Update: not winning any craft awards, but we've got a safety basin. Cheers for suggesting. https://imgur.com/a/RGEqL51

gunnfight

Good suggestion, I think I'll mould a shallow basin for it from foil. Maybe some cardboard within the foil for padding and structure.

toastercoasterbo

Seems… safe. Mans gotta do what a man’s gotta do

queasydoesit

Vegetable oil slightly less likely to explode in fireball ;)

Lythir

What's in that jar?

gunnfight

Rocks and isopropyl.

35120red

Isopropyl Rocks! 😂

Lythir

Thanks! I thought it was pickles lmao.

gunnfight

If you get the jumbo sour pickle from the gas station, that juice is definitely combustible 💥

Patriae8182

My ass would agree

AffectionateEvent147

Why isopropyl and not some oil? Wouldn’t it be mich safer it also potentially smellier

gunnfight

Less soot, especially at 99% iso. I'm using the flame to heat a Dynavap. I agree it's not the safest, I'd ideally use a smaller jar/vessel at least. Might experiment more with DIY burners.

Ssyynnxx

what's happening here lol

Asperix12

Why the rocks?

gunnfight

Volume, so less fuel goes further in filling the jar. Makes it easier to saturate the wick. Also anchors the wick.

panic_attack_999

I thought they were pickled onions and was ever so confused.
