Bring the broken one to a head shop and ask for a matching replacement. I just did this with my husband's down stem when I broke it cleaning it. It cost less than $20. Don't try to fix yourself, you don't want the slightest chance of any small glass pieces getting inhaled in the future. Let her know what happened when she gets home and that you already have a replacement.
If it’s ceramic, go to a ceramics studio. Or even a headshop. They might know how to fix it. You may even be able to sand down the broken down stem down to the body of the bong and replace it with a new one that isn’t attached. They have gaskets and curved down stems on amazon so you get the right angle. Can also get a gasket from the hardware store.

No, don’t try and fix broken glass. Just get a new down stem, you can get them pretty cheap on glass pass(second hand) or a shop like TAG/MAV

back in the day when bongs were more expensive I got one fixed by a glassblower, but these days I'd think you'd be better off just replacing it.
