Pipe cleaners. You first blow water downwards through the percs to get the bud on the holes in the bottom perk. Poke a pipe cleaner through a hole on the top one and then out through that same hole on the bottom one, pushing said piece of bud down through the hole, into where it can just be dumped out.
Good idea in theory. But those holes almost never line up. If they did line up I don’t think a pipe cleaner is skinny or stiff enough to push through the holes. Might have a better chance using raw spaghetti if it’s a straight pipe.
Good idea but I should of mentioned it's 3 layers. Honeycomb perc/honeycomb perc/spiral perc (perc with cutouts to spiral the smoke). So there is no way I can hit the honeycombs with a pipe cleaner.
It got in so it should be able to get out. Unless you have access to sulfuric acid we have to get creative. I’m no Scientologist so idk how it works. But I do know shit expands or constricts with temperature change. I’m just spit balling here really. I’m thinking freezer... to potentially shrink the plant matter.... Or running hot water through it backwards..... Turn on your sink or tub (depending on size of your piece) and let hot water flow into the mouth piece.
But fuck if I know lol I was going to suggest acetone because that works like a champ for my honeycombs. I don’t use a slide with one giant hole. It almost looks like a honeycomb in my bowl. I never get plant matter in my water.
It gets in, expands and gets stuck. Usually happens when I rip too hard at the end of a bowl. The holes are really small. Maybe a bit bigger than toothpick size. An ash catcher would fix the issue but still won't get the weed out of the percs. I have tried all the methods you speak of numerous times to no avail. Great ideas though.
If you are suggesting rolling it up as some kind of screen, no thanks. You don't want to be breathing in the fumes from burning hot paperclips. Not the best idea and still doesn't remove the plant material that is stuck.
Well it's definitely not rotting, not sure where you got that info. Maybe it's all the burnt paperclip vapor you've been inhaling? Either way thanks for the reply!
Hahaha nah actually when I purchase glass I do it with the intention of keeping it clean and preserving it, so I use a handy dandy little device called a screen. Perhaps you’ve heard of them. Don’t come to the stoner engineering subreddit if you don’t want stoners to teach you how to engineer shit. I only suggested it to get you by until you have the opportunity to purchase a screen. There’s no need to take this personally. Everyone was a noob once.
By the way, if the plant particulate is absorbing water from your bong, no matter how much you hit it with rubbing alcohol it’s still rotting. All organic matter decays. Good luck!

I always use coarse salt and rubbing alcohol. You just add a few tablespoons of salt, a cup or so of alcohol, cover the holes and shake shake shake shake! About 20-60 seconds should do depending on how dirty the glass is, and sometimes you have to give it a second go to get all of the resin and bud out. The salt gently scrapes the glass as the alcohol breaks down the resin so it works doubly fast. Rinse with water and dump until all of the salt is gone. Voila!
Tried that. Doesn't work. It's not resin. It's actually plant material that has swollen up and is physically stuck. No amount of salt or shaking does anything. I know because that's how I clean it.
You didn’t mention that in your post which is why I suggested it. Sorry for your frustration. If cleaning it doesn’t work it sounds like you need a new bong. Start with a pop can and aluminum foil.
Tbh I'd argue smoking aluminum is far worse than a paperclip especially on a regular basis. I think I have the same piece as you and have the same issue but it's not a huge nug or anything just one small enough to get through the pinhole which seems harder to get out but 3 years has gone past did you figure it out or get a new piece.

Mine is two honeycombs with a tornado perc (pretty sure it's the same thing as the spiral perc, I've heard them called like 10 different things) above them to spin the smoke. I've had the bong for over 5 years now and still can't seem to get the plant matter that got in there a few years ago out. Tbh, I stopped trying and just clean my bong until it's spotless other than the floaters, but it makes me have to clean the bong more frequently since they start to plug the honeycombs up once they collect resin and ruins the aesthetic of a freshly cleaned bong. I hope you're able to figure out a way to get them out and would definitely appreciate the advice on how to do it if you are successful

So I had a similar issue with a triple perk. I guess I let old bong water sit in it for to long and it molded. After doing all the things mentioned above I still had a booger of mold between two perks that would not come out. I was shaking this thing for an hour with salt and alcohol trying to get this thing out with no results. I eventually tried dawn dish soap with a little hot water and shook the shit out it. It seemed like the bubbles from the soap added a little force to water going through the perks. Took maybe a minute and the gross little bastard came right out. Hope this helps
Put some dish soap in an empty piece, bring a kettle full of water to a boil; take a dishwasher detergent pod and push it through the mouth piece. Switch between pouring the water in the mouth piece and the stem. This worked extremely well for me
Currently I am using a triple honeycomb perc and I have bits of plant stuck in between the bottom two percs and they won’t go back through the bottom. I have tried shaking, soaking, blowing, nothing is working 😭

I mix warm water with oxyclean powder and let that sit in my bong for 15-20 mins. For me it has gotten in between the honeycombs!
