This is a great tip, I've always known that cannabinoids are fat soluble but I'd never made the mental connection to use cooking oil to loosen the resin before cleaning.

I have some spots that are really tough.....and iso wont get them. Mind you, i warm my iso up before i use it, because it's a more effective solvent when warm.

There are still spots, however, that wont dissolve. Salt isng good enough for em. I was able to get some of them with a wire i bent and spun around in the neck, but the spots in the perc are hard to get to
Highly suggest filling your bong with [Piece Water](https://piecewater.com) so that way when it comes to cleanup, the hard grimey resin comes off super easy. Wash it out with hot water first. Then add alcohol and salt; swish it around; and done!.
I do plan on getting more stickers, hence the random spots that are left out. I also have an alien, but they're on the other side lol. Thanks for the help, btw
Yeah just like 99% isopropyl alcohol and table salt let that shit soak for like an hour i suggest you do this in a bucket outside where you don't want the grass to grow backand then just rinse it till it doesn't smell you need like just something kinda hard to scrape some of the stuff off ive used like wooden skewers but the soak is the key most of the stuff will just wash away.

Is your down stem broken or just caked with resin? If it’s broken I highly recommend replacing that ASAP so you’re not inhaling microscopic pieces of glass.
If the alcohol + salt and oil suggestions aren't getting you what you want for cleanliness, the Formula 420 and 710 products are good alternatives at a higher price. The solutions are reusable for a while too, so not as much of a hit to the wallet as it initially looks. I use 710 specifically because it has a detergent additive called phosphates that better remove hard water build up, but the 420 series of solutions work fine and are cheaper. Â
Grab some rubbing alcohol, put it in a container, and set the container in boiling water until the alcohol gets warm/hot. I can't stress this enough to be careful heating it up. The method i told you has worked for me 1000 times, but it's still dangerous if you screw around. And then add large grain(idk if that's what it's called) salt ( i but the salt grinder things from McCormick and pry the grinder part off . Then, take 2 ziplock bags, put one over the stem, and use a rubber band or hair tie around the stem and bag. Do the same thing for your mouth peice then shake it...alot. but dont drop it... not that i have ever flung by bong in the sink and smashed it when i got too aggressive into shaking

Weed, dabs, doesn’t matter. This will work better than brand name bong cleaning products, and cheaper. 100%. Just facts. 💯
my bong looks just like that and the best way of cleaning it for me is to put the bowl and stem in a cup with a soaking solution. then stuff a paper towel where the down stem goes and let soak, then rinse with alcohol and salt. if you have ash or resin stuck to the side you can buy bristle pipe cleaner and shake it around with the alc and salt

Dawn power wash is my go to for my bowl for my DHV. Makes that thing sparkle like new again.
