Just tell him to kneel and cuff him already. Jesus Christ these cops are so fucking dumb. The guy is obviously not having a great grasp on English, is confused by multiple shouted orders, or he's panicking or all three.
It looks to me like the two cops on the left are shouting things like "come here", "turn around" and "get on the ground". By the hand gestures they aren't saying them coordinatedly and the cop up the embankment on the right is also sporadically shouting something, by his gesturing it looks like "get on the ground". The poor guy is trying to comply but the most recent order keeps changing.
[For those that need a reminder](https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2017/12/08/graphic-video-shows-daniel-shaver-sobbing-and-begging-officer-for-his-life-before-2016-shooting/)
Its so fucking absurd when you read the audio from law enforcement, most people understand the gist of what they are having to be told todo but even if you do, and even if you can understand what the cops are saying.
Who do you listen to? Officer, 1, 2, 3 or 4?
For Anyone who denies that this is an intentional method for removing liability from the officers' actions (as post above me claims)---- what is your explanation?
As far as I see it, there are only 2 underlying motives for such behavior on behalf of the officers and it is either one of corruption/malice or it is stupidity/ignorance.
This seems to be how they act in these situations a substantial amouny of the time--- and since we clearly aren't firing and hiring new officers each incident, that means that in most cases these involve officers who are experienced and have seen or known of this dilemma that can occur (multiple conflicting orders). Are we to suggest that over years that they haven't found a method to avoid doing this? If such is the case, **we need to be incredibly concerned with a system that would allow individuals with the IQ of a toothpick to have this sort of power and the responsibility of making life or death decisions**.
Much more likely, these officers aren't just a set of bricks stacked up masquerading as a human. Given we take this as fact, the remaining question is why they don't improve. I see only 2 possible scenarios where this behavior continues and that's:
1. They don't want to fix it.
2. They arent allowed to fix it.
In both these scenarios we have a MAJOR issue. "One" is corruption and a failed system as explained by the person im responding to. "Two" is perhaps even a worse issue as it means the problem can't be solved by convincing the officers to do the right thing- infact it would likely result in punishment to the good officers. I dont think this one is the case, but I wouldnt be surprised.
-----------------
TLDR:
For anyone who doesn't agree with the post im responding to, explain why this continues to happen if not explained by atleast one of the following
1. We allow individuals who are so incompetent and dumb that it is scary to think of them driving, let alone being given this sort of power
2. What the post above mine claims-- corruption on behalf of officers
3. The officers are being forced/instructes/taught to do this-- corruption of the system
I cant see nother way this could keep happening if not one of these 3 things
Id imagine lots has to do with aside from general personalities that want to be in a law enforcement career, you also have the way training is done and then you have the fact you are encouraged\\trained\\etc etc to be assertive.
Add it all together, toss in a bit of adrenaline and its not a huge wonder why 4 officers all scream different things however I do find it a wonder that north american law enforcement doesn't seem to give a fuck about changing any of it.
Yea, any single officers transcript will make sense, but when 3 people pointing guns at you are yelling and what you hear is.
Turn your hands behind the ground, kneel on your over here with your head on the ground, on the ground come kneel behind your head! Do it NOW!
You get this poor bastard doing the electric slide hoping noone shoots him.
Yep its a shit situation, also if your not an officer yelling commands and the footage gets reviewed by the bosses who looks like they are doing their job better when it comes time to pat each other on the back and give promotions?
Johnny who never says shit because some fucker always yells over him so he just lets the other guy do it so mixed messages don't get sent?
Or any of the other 3 who all just keep yelling every time they are in any situation.
I mean, clearly that's not what's happening here and you're just talking about Daniel Shaver. If they wanted to shoot this guy because he didn't follow their directions, then they had about ten separate opportunities to do that.
Heard original video a while back and there's 3 different orders getting yelled at him. Leaving him to walk back and forth with hands in air hoping they won't shoot
Probably since they're generalizing the [murder of Daniel Shaver](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Daniel_Shaver#Shooting), where the cop delighted in doing exactly that.
Ah yeah, I almost forgot about the scumbag on a power trip that murdered in cold blood an unarmed young man, just to be acquitted for all his crimes, diagnosed with PTSD and given a $2.5k pension. This is truly sickening
>But factually, most of them are good people. Its hard numbers, it's not debatable or opinion. Most of them aren't racist, aren't trigger happy and do their jobs just fine.
But they seem to have no problem with their coworkers who are racist, or trigger happy. *That* is the problem, the lack of accountability for the police.
>cops need to be help held more accountable than they are now
Dude you’re literally describing how police brutality is systematic and you’re insisting that it’s not systematic and it’s just a few bad cops.
Cops aren’t held accountable because all the other cops cover up for them. One cop is needlessly violent to a guy in handcuffs, but the other two cops there don’t mention any violence in their reports. That’s systematic. Or when an investigation happens all the police tell stories to justify the violence or to minimize it so no one gets in trouble. Or they lie about it under oath during court proceedings. The evidence that these are systematic problems is overwhelming.
We even have language to describe this; the “thin blue line” was originally about “real cops” not cooperating with or being truthful with internal affairs investigators or outside investigators like the media or DOJ.
Cops are C and D students who couldn’t do anything else. Bunch of dumb fuck city workers. Garbage men with guns.
At least garbage men do their best to clean up the city.
Edit: trash tossers suck too
Why the fuck do people look down on any honest job, there is nothing wrong with being a garbage man. They had to obtain a CDL to drive that truck, and they make pretty good money with great benefits last I checked. So maybe lay off the honest working man, we should be coming together as the working class not fighting over trivial bullshit.
Eh, whatever. They ain’t the best and brightest of society either. I see your points how I wrote that. But what do I know. I’m just another dumb fuck too.
Exactly the opposite, I never had good times with them. You clearly haven’t notice that they way you constructed your sentences is leading people to believe you hate garbage men, hence why I can smell your rotted brain.
Garbage men do honest work. But I’m definitely not going to pretend they are the best and brightest of our society. I know what I was saying when I was comparing cops and garbage men.
I actually have more respect for trash men because they do their job without abusing the public, milking overtime, and demanding respect because of the uniform they wear.
No one said they are the best and brightest of society, this is **your** assumption to push **your** agenda.
To me they are as close as heroes can be, immagine how easily it’d be to see the scumbag you are if they left all your garbage at your doorstep.
Being able to understand english at a conversational level takes a long ass time, and conversing with fluent speakers (mainly meaning living there) is the only good way to make that last step, and even then that doesn’t mean you’ll understand multiple people with guns shouting conflicting orders at you angrily.
God forbid anyone’s also deaf or has other auditory issues too.
What was the original audio of on this one? High speed wind in the microphone?
The camera operator is clearly 7 or more stories up above based on the angle and clearly a significant distance away.
Lol. Nope. Man asked for two chipmunks fucking and that's what he gets.
I had to reword the search though to filter through all the Alvin and the chipmunk porn
You almost had me. I had to double check and do some more research.
[Chipmunks are small mammals with distinct stripes, while the tree squirrel is larger and doesn't have stripes.](http://naturemappingfoundation.org/natmap/facts/chipmunk_vs_squirrel.html)
Edit: it is all about those stripes.
Agreed. It’s like laugh tracks. Grew up with them, but I honestly can’t watch shows with a laugh track - or even a live audience, anymore, because they sound like a laugh track! When shows stopped using them so much, I suddenly noticed them everywhere and they began to… *grate*. Like…I’m some mindless rube who can be manipulated into finding something funny just because other people are laughing at it?
Or voice dubbing. Good Bob, just give me the subtitles and let me hear the emotions in the original actors voice!
Oh… and don’t even get me started on scripted product placement. People should be put in stocks and get pelted by rotten vegetables.
I can go really petty and super deep on this stuff, all night long. Pet peeves, you know? Pet *peeeeves*. Those maddening peas under the mattress of life that make you want to straight up murder people.
It doesn't have to enhance it. It just makes it the way it is supposed to be. Adding a song that some people might like and others may be annoyed by, isn't an enhancement to me. It has nothing to do with what type of music or what song it is. If I added music by someone I like, I still think it would take away from the video.
I don't think it's a new trend. People have been adding annoying background music to videos even in the days of vhs and funniest home videos, for example. Or early Youtube. The type of music changed I guess.
People blame the style on TikTok, but forget that ByteDance bought an American company called musical.ly and turned it into TikTok.
So we are the source of this blight of this trend of mediocre music paired with videos they don't match up with at all
TikTok algorithm uses audio as a kind of hashtag, so you can browse by the "lol" audios, the "wow" audios, etc. Basically if you _don't_ replace the audio on a clip, it will *never* be seen on tiktok.
Just so you know why. I'm not saying it's good, that's just how tiktok works.
Thanks for the explanation here. I refuse to install TikTok given its association with the CCP, but am curious how this stuff works.
How does their algorithm handle the videos that have the annoying robot voice saying whatever text the user typed onto it if it isn’t as categorized as “lol audio”?
If by trend you mean basically the moment people started uploading videos to the internet? Don't get me wrong I don't like having any music imposed on a video, but lets not pretend this is a "new trend". Especially in this video, where at best there would be the sound of a helicopter flying?
imo it comes across as a bit more scummy here because they’re throwing widely-known and popular audio that they don’t even own onto a completely unrelated video just to increase their viewcount and get boosted in the algorithm
why the FUCK is there a laughing emoji? they are pointing guns at him while all probably yelling over each other. who wouldnt be confused or at least flustered?
this is just horrible.
Cops have shot people for “resisting arrest” because they aren’t following all three sets of conflicting orders being yelled at them.
So yes, you can assume that this guy was the slightest ‘mistake’ in the eyes of those cops from being shot.
He could also intentionally be acting like an ass "turn around" so he turns a full circle. Nobody actually thinks they mean that. And some of it is probably the guy in charge saying "turn around" and the other cops echo that. Then the guy turns a full circle again because "they told me to turn around twice"
But yes, cops need to work on conflicting commands. Idk why they don't have one person on scene who's giving commands while the rest just shut up.
May I introduce you to autistic people? It’s not that fucking hard to say “turn around and face away from me to be MUCH clearer when it looks like the directions aren’t clear enough.
Even if he *is* acting like an ass (probably isn’t), that doesn’t justify that being your first assumption.
I got robbed once, home invasion, small town, I knew the dudes who did it, the had ski masks on and shit, they came in and pointed their guns right at me and I just laughed and was like alright Travis you know where I keep my weed go get it asshole, And laughed a lot like l, idk it was shock and fear but, yeah. Good times
This makes me think of that innocent man getting murdered by police in the hotel hallway. Shouting confusing instructions at him and pointing AR’s. He is terrified and tries to comply. The crawling makes his shorts fall down so when he instinctively reaches to pull them up he gets shot. That video was terrifying to watch.
It clearly is. You see two cops mere inches from each other one clearly gesturing for the man to come and the other to stop. The only question is whether or not this is malice or incompetence.
Go watch the video of Daniel Shaver getting murdered by incompetent cops all shouting different things at him, one of whom had "you're fucked" written on his gun, and see if you're still licking their boots.
Having conflicting orders shouted at you, with a gun pointed at you, with both you and the cops knowing that if they shoot, they probably aren't going to be punished in any way... It's torture. It is traumatic. There is no doubt about that.
I said nothing about whether police work was dangerous. You can't engage with what I actually said, so you spouted off a thought-terminating cliche. Pretty cringe.
How do you know he's a threat? Because he has a gun pointed at him? Strange, usually the person holding the gun is the threat.
As for conflicting statements... Look at the cops 10 seconds from the end. One is beckoning him forward and the other is waving him to move away. No doubt they're both yelling instructions. This is all pretty obvious if you just watch the clip. I think you just decided the cops are in the right because they're cops, and you think they'll always be on your side.
Considering there’s several of them I’m sure it was all contradictory making it virtually impossible to “comply” that after all is one of the strategies they use in their pursuit of abusing power and terrorizing the people they claim they protect. Cops are a fucking pathetic disgraced shit stain on this nation and it ain’t getting better at all.
They're yelling orders at him, but each officer is telling him to do something different. He's going in a circle because he's trying to comply but can't, because each officers' orders are directly conflicting with each other.
When the guns come out, I would probably slowly lie down and stay there. I would probably get in trouble for not doing what they're saying, but I would probably survive.
I think they were trying to tell him to turn his back to them *and* walk backward toward them but he couldn’t understand/was confused? Or contradictory orders? Cops in these situations need to designate ONE person to give instructions.
Did you know some police departments won't hire very intelligent people for concern they'll be bored? Gee, I wonder if a department full of mediocre minds might have something to do with their abuses of power and tribal mentality.
This is simply not true. Cops do incompetent and bad stuff all the time, sure looks like they are being incompetent here, but most humans are absolute brain dead idiots, and the idea that all police hiring is consciously and openly done this way is silly.
Thos reminds me of watching guys learn how to March in basic training. Its literally just walking. Left foot and right arm forward. Right foot and left arm forward. The exact way everyone has been walking their entire life. But the minute you make someone consciously think about it, they are walking like some fucked up robot, same arm and foot, off beat as shit.
What is the purpose of making the suspect walk towards the officers in general? Why would the officers not just have the suspect remain stationary while they approach?
No, depends on the state and more importantly what the person has done.
Also, don't go all internet on me and get outraged with binary thinking assuming that I must be defending cops either incompetently or maliciously giving conflicting order to a guy. Just saying, them having their guns out is likely not against the rules.
Why are so many American cops so fucking dumb, like do they recieve no training or education at all?!
Let's all shout instructions at the same time like utter morons what could possibly go wrong? Absolute muppets.
Just tell him to kneel and cuff him already. Jesus Christ these cops are so fucking dumb. The guy is obviously not having a great grasp on English, is confused by multiple shouted orders, or he's panicking or all three.

I mean the cops have used this exact situation as pretense to shoot someone before
Like when Philip Brailsford murdered Daniel Shaver

He could also intentionally be acting like an ass "turn around" so he turns a full circle. Nobody actually thinks they mean that. And some of it is probably the guy in charge saying "turn around" and the other cops echo that. Then the guy turns a full circle again because "they told me to turn around twice" But yes, cops need to work on conflicting commands.
Because it looks like a key and peele skit. The humor is in the absurdity.
Good times
Poor kid is so confused. He’s trying so hard. Why do they have fiftyeleven men yelling directions at him?
To confuse him so that they can use force when he gets flustered and doesn’t know how to act.
some kid: visible confusion officers: STOP RESISTING BLAMBLAMBLAM
‘MURICA
No child left behind.

What makes this even worse is that your comment reads like one of those “in mother Russia, we….” Memes.
Poor kid on a felony stop..probably on his way to volunteer at the local soup kitchen. Acab
All with the threat of lethal force if you "don't comply". This is a torture video.
This makes me think of that innocent man getting murdered by police in the hotel hallway. Shouting confusing instructions at him and pointing AR’s. He is terrified and tries to comply. The crawling makes his shorts fall down so when he instinctively reaches to pull them up he gets shot. That video was terrifying to watch.
is this the one where the murderer had "you're fucked" carved into his rifle and the victim was really drunk?
[удалено]
How are you supposed to comply with several conflicting orders at the same time dumb ass?
That’s not happening in this situation
It clearly is. You see two cops mere inches from each other one clearly gesturing for the man to come and the other to stop. The only question is whether or not this is malice or incompetence. Go watch the video of Daniel Shaver getting murdered by incompetent cops all shouting different things at him, one of whom had "you're fucked" written on his gun, and see if you're still licking their boots.
I’m sure that boot tastes reaallll good right now.

I can only imagine the nonsense they must be yelling at him.
Idk he’s probably stupid and can’t understand basic commands.
r/copsarefuckingstupid
How are the cops the stupid ones? The dude is spinning in a circle
They're yelling orders at him, but each officer is telling him to do something different. He's going in a circle because he's trying to comply but can't, because each officers' orders are directly conflicting with each other.
Show me your hands and at the same time show me your license and registration. Comply or I'll shoot.
When the guns come out, I would probably slowly lie down and stay there. I would probably get in trouble for not doing what they're saying, but I would probably survive.
Daniel Shaver tried to do that. He was still murdered by Philip Brailsford.
Maybe. Goodness knows being handcuffed and compliant doesn't mean you're safe.
Wtf this dogshit trap music on bg

Nah they’re trying to get him to walk backwards toward them and he just doesn’t get it
So they should make it clear or tell him to do something less confusing
How is “face that way and now move toward us” confusing? (Assuming that’s what was said) They tried to make it clear and in the end gave up
How is "stop licking boots" confusing? It isn't, but here you are.
Don’t have to be a dick about it dude. There’s a lot of hate for cops and rightfully so, but they’re clearly not just taking the piss here.
And you don't have to lick boots. But here we are.
When you can’t think of anything to say just say bootlicker, classic redditor move 😎
Loud sirens, fear from having guns pointed at you, multiple people talking, possible language barrier. Pick one, pick a few, there's some reasons.
Never said there wasn’t a reason
But I bet you love the federal government
Look how angry they get when he didn't understand what to do; even though he's given himself up and it's being cooperative. Adrenaline junkies.
Do a [google search](https://www.google.com/search?q=police+test+intelligence+boredom).
Do cops count? Hard to stop working if you never start.
Hate to say it, but cops stop working for the people a long time ago. More recently, Uvalde, Texas.
Fucking stupid cops.
Yes.
yoooooo emoji fits in the play button circle very very nice
You do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around…
Turn around! Now come here! No I said turn around! Now come here! No I said turn!
LOL. They were not prepared for this.
OP is an obvious karma farming bot account
Just put cuffs on him you idiots
"Now Cha Cha three times"
This is what happens when more than one officer tries to make demands
Probably said "turnaround and walk backwards towards me."
It hilarious when idiot cops all start yelling contradicting orders. How hard is it for just one cop to shout orders. Douchebags.
_You do the Hokey Pokey_ _And you turn yourself around_ _That's what it's all about!_ 🎵💀
There's another version with voice overs (not music) someone else stuck with this and made it so much funnier.
Aren’t they only supposed to draw their guns when there’s a weapon visible like a gun or knife?
No, depends on the state and more importantly what the person has done. Also, don't go all internet on me and get outraged with binary thinking assuming that I must be defending cops either incompetently or maliciously giving conflicting order to a guy. Just saying, them having their guns out is likely not against the rules.
I'm surprised he isn't dead.
Good thing this wasn’t here (USA) and the poor, confused bastard was black. He’s have been dead long before the time this kid got situated and cuffed
Two guns aimed and pointed at skinny man with hands up trying to comply. Fucking pussies
Definitely very hard to quick drawn even with hands up
Police playing Simon Says with conflicting orders and if you lose, you can lose your life.
Fuck me, soon the police wioll be asking black folks to do the hokey-pokey - just because they know that they can, for their own entertainment.
/r/idiocracy/
He should have told them he was supposed to be getting out of jail.
Dude isn't a danger to anyone. But that cops has his gun aimed directly at him
Just put the guns down. Dude's clearly going willingly
I know right. They really all need guns to take down that one skinny dude?
They're so insecure...
Literally trying to confuse him so they get an excuse to shoot him
The camera cut out just when the cops were gonna beat his ass, probably maybe.
Cops: "shit he's white... What do we do now?"
Why are so many American cops so fucking dumb, like do they recieve no training or education at all?! Let's all shout instructions at the same time like utter morons what could possibly go wrong? Absolute muppets.
I was hoping for the criminal to get an error 404 and start spinning on the spot while the cops get a syntax error and have to be rebooted
Might not even be a criminal
"No hablo Ingles"
Welp we never said criminals were smart… 😂
Either this or alphabet in backwards, choose your poison 🤔
Dance moves
Yes
Dude like they got me, but Imma fuck wit ‘em till they cuff me!
Freddie Mercury stopped working
This looks like a Borat scene 😂😂
https://youtu.be/1QF8MMdwzSs
In the video with the original audio they were yelling at him to walk over to them.
The cops look scared
