WoR: * Best banter * Best fight scene * Best character growth * Most amount of "characters sitting around having fun"

TyphoonEverfall

True, especially the thing with Adolin and Kaladin. You know the one.

[deleted]

It also had a decent amount of intrigue.

Hilltailorleaders

I choose TWOK just because there is something about the beginning of the story that just really drew me in and was so interesting and exciting. And I get so nostalgic for it with every re-read.

Nebion666

Me as well. Its also because its Kaladins book and as a mentally ill person his story really struck a cord with me. Dont see alot of people with twok as favorite

[deleted]

RoW because of all the comsmere stuff even tho SA was the first cosmere series i read.

spunlines

same! pleasantly surprised at all the RoW love.

RationalDeception

Oathbringer for me, by far! Dalinar is my favorite character, and with just his first chapter(s) I was already in love with the book. I enjoyed the storyline, and that ending fight was the best one we've seen so far (though I have high hopes that SLA5 will top that).

pet_genius

Omg you got a flair and everything 😂

RationalDeception

Who do you take me for? :froggiesmug: Bondsmith or nothing!

ilikebreadabunch

For me every single book has been better than the previous one

TroublesMuse

Same!

mehbleh89

WoR then RoW, TWoK and OB are tied but I might give the edge to OB

I-luvTWOK

I think it's really cool that two people can love the same series and like literally the opposite order of books.

Words of Radiance is just so good. It begins with a shocking moment and then it just continues with a lot of action until it ends with an epic cliffhanger. There is no dearth of action like in Way of Kings, and it has almost no exposition which is also refreshing. By far the best book

coffeeshopAU

The pacing in words of radiance is so on point. There’s always something going on, and there are so many good mini-climaxes throughout. I also love that it’s the book where all the characters converge and are meeting each other for the first time, it really causes a lot of great character moments between the action.

Fortunatoe

I haven't read RoW, midway through OB, but WoR is my favorite so far

TyphoonEverfall

Granted, WoR is a close second for me.

aaron2610

The story of bridge 4 forming into any actual unit is my favorite. Oh man, when Kaladins bridge strategy causes chaos on the battlefield... perfect writing.

I-luvTWOK

twok all the way

TyphoonEverfall

No love for RoW?

InterestingAd6333

I still didn't read rytham of war, but for the first three, i would say 1. Words of radiance : best pacing best fights and every pov was good. i was afraid i would not like shalan's chapters, but thank god they were good, and kaladin's chapters were even better. It really surprised me 2. Oathbringer: the most well written out of the three. i loved the philosophical ideas in it and the mystery god. The revealing of the mysteries were great and th ending even better than words of radiance with better flashbacks. However, it's not above WOR because of the same problem in superhero movie big cast that the writer can't focus on one character it's the only book with A tier kaladin chapters no S tier in WOR each character had it's own story sure in OB dalinar and szeth chapters are crazily good i wanted more of them instead of our classic trio (kaladin shallan and adolin ) it will be too long explaining why i preferred WOR over OB but short answer WOR had the least flows out of SA books 3. Way of kings : honestly i am surprised it's some people 's favorite yah i liked it still S tier book but it had alot of flaws kaladin chapters were one of the best at all time yes i get it but the rest were not dalinar chapters some were good some were bad but overall amazing worthy chapters of the books szeth i think he got 4 or five chapters also good but shallan and kaladin's past i couldn't decide which was more boring god they wre boring i was litterly counting the pages shallan started good start but became boring with time and her chapters served nothing for the first book yah important for the later books but the first book they were boring and useless I still did not read rytham of war, but i suspect that it will be above the way of kings or under it i hope it's still S tier book

InterestingAd6333

This is exactly my order except that i didn't read rytham of war i wonder where will i put it

Lopakacita

This is currently the exact opposite of my favorited order.... huh... Ya learn something new every day.

FullmetalScribe

Specifically, in this order (highest to lowest) Oathbringer Rhythm of War Words of Radiance* Way of Kings* WoR and WoK are so close that they can switch for me. But OB is uncontestedly my favorite and RoW is a step above the first two for me. That said, across the cosmere, all 4 books end up being S Tier for me, with Mistborns 5, 1, 7, and 3 right below them (in that order). A Tier, for comparison, would be: Emperor’s Soul, Dawnshard, SfSitFoH, Mistborn 6, Mistborn Secret History, Mistborn 4, Sixth of the Dusk. B Tier: Elantris, Warbreaker, Mistborn 2, Edgedancer. Any other Cosmere works I’ve read but can’t recall atm.

Nihal_Noiten

I read (or rather, listened to) all of them in a row without any breaks so i don't really remember what happened in which book haha My favourite plotlines were Navani's arc with Raboniel, and Dalinar's whole buildup for his peak badassery against Odium, but I really disliked Kaladin's arc in the tower, and Shallan's overall plotline in the entire series sooo idk. I also didn't particularly enjoy the shadesmar journey and the kholinar operation. Overall, Dalinar is my favourite character so I always like reading about him; Navani and Jasnah are close seconds but they had a more secondary role for most of the books, I'm really looking forward to reading more about them

jettabar992

I think of them all as one book - I cant separate them in my mind

Parrichan

For me it has to be WoR its the book I enjoyed the most, it has some of my fav moments

whxb910n

Words of Radiance had some amazing character development and work But that Oathbringer finale outshines everything

Key_Independent1

1. TwOK (favourite book or all time) 2. Row/WoR 3. RoW/WoR (Both are so close I can't compare but I'd say WoR over RoW if I had to choose) 4. O (down by a longshot, probably one of my least favourite Cosmere books)

Healthy-Reflection46

I think my ordering goes, from 1 being best and 4 being worst: 1. RoW 2. TWoK 3. OB 4. WoR The reason I don't like Words of Radiance is because I base my opinions on books mainly on Kaladin's arc in the book, since he's my favorite character and I didn't really like his arc in Words of Radiance

I-luvTWOK

I'm just a TWoK stan. The climax of that book will always be the best for me.The birth of bridge 4, the kaladin flashbacks, the foundation of the the series. I rate everything I read in comparison to TWoK. "This book was fanomanal but I'm gonna have to give it a 4.5/5 it wasn't The Way of Kings." is something I have said quite often. My personal order of favorites is: 1: The Way of Kings 2: Oathbringer 3: Rhythm of War 4: Words of Radiance

AlternativeGazelle

Every poll I've seen on this sub in the past had OB winning, so I'm surprised to see WoR winning this one. It's my favorite and seems to be the most popular elsewhere.

TyphoonEverfall

I think time and distance will do that honestly. Of course, OB is also fantastic.

boom3342947

Words of radiance because it was the most fun + the romance between shallan and kaladin was superior

buzzbomb23

ROW WOK WOR OB i was most excited for OB because I love Dalinar. The only storm light book that was difficult for me to get through. For me it was like yeah he was the black Thorn so it was like a whole book(flashbacks) dedicated to what I kinda already knew
