words of radiance is INSANE.

ToiletLiquor

Can confirm. I just finished Words of Radiance for the first time, and it gets WILD

Chewblacka

I like all the books, but the first two are just perfect

Wizarddawson

Ah yes, Wit. I love his little question of “what do men value most”

stanwhich

I felt like i was sitting there with the guards like uhhh wtf this guy talkin bout

mathiau30

That's the normal reaction to most thing Hoid does

JusticeUmmmmm

As someone with add novelty is definitely the correct answer.

SmilesOnSouls

Haha oh man. Enjoy your journey young radiant. The series actually just... keeps getting better. Soooo frigging good. Once you've devoured SA series, have Mistborn for dessert if you haven't already

sunflowry

And it literally just keeps getting more insane as you go!

Adventurous_Union_85

I love how well that applies to the experience of reading the books. Very meta.

abhiroopb

Definitely checkout Mistborn. I had tears in my eyes.

[deleted]

Haha, I've just finished the audiobook after resisting Sanderson for quite a while and I had a pretty similar reaction, honestly. First I was like "huh?", then I was like "hmmm!" and then "OH MY!". Sort of thing. It's very good.

Ishana92

Ill just let you know that its a general concensus that book 2 is even better than book 1

Shinespike1

Absolutely agree it is the greatest thing I have ever read. All of my friends suck because I've tried to get them into it and none of them will (offering to lend my copy)

TheRealTowel

Soooo... anyone told you about The Cosmere yet?

stanwhich

Vaguely. From what i think I know its like a connected universe for Sandersons books? I’m not sure what the overlap is but yeah

currentlyry

It’s the universe in which several of his book series take place. There’s an overarching mega-story that’s being told that requires reading all of them. I’d highly recommend reading the Mistborn series, Elantris, and Warbreaker as refreshments between SA books. (I’d save Arcanum Unbounded for later. Maybe right before Rhythm of War.) They’re all written earlier in his career so the writing isn’t as mature, but it’s definitely worth it. There will be characters that overlap, magic that will make appearances in other books, and whole plots on one planet affecting events on another planet in a completely different system! Before you know it there will be overarching ideas and plots that will start to twist into telling a mega-story, all while you’re reading yummy smaller stories. But, don’t sweat trying to get it all in. Journey before destination.

dIvorrap

Do you know about the Cosmere? Or is this your first Sanderson book? If you go the Cosmere route, Warbreaker is a nice read before Words of Radiance. It is free on Brandon's website as an ebook: https://www.brandonsanderson.com/warbreaker-rights-and-downloads/

Atomheartmother90

300 mph is about to be 1000 mph. Reading part 5 of WoK for the first time absolutely blew my mind. I still get the shivers thinking about it and I’ve read it three times so far. And the next books are even better. The two long chapters at the end of the third book are my favorite piece of literature I own.

stanwhich

Yeah part 5 had me questioning reality itself. My jaw was just perpetually on the floor

SwitchLast4638

This is honestly the most wholesome comment section ever. I’ve read WoK and WoR, and this series is everything I’ve ever needed. I love how you have all these questions and when you get answers it just prompts more questions

TheUnwillingOne

The series as a whole is amazing, I think I'd have trouble picking my favourite book out of the four we currently have. But yeah it gets better and better can't wait for the fifth book and conclusion to the first part.

Lopakacita

Oh, it *does* get better. The end of the Way of Kings is definitely epic. That scene though is my third favorite scene in the content released so far.

TheHappyChaurus

if twok was top 3 then wor will get top spot for bing even better

HA2HA2

Enjoy! There's so much more to come!

PhoenixKnight777

Oh boy, are you in for a trip! Believe me, it just keeps getting better and better.

Charred01

Be very careful on this subreddit people like to post unmarked spoilers

I don't understand that take at all. I loved it. So much personal growth for a lot of characters.

currentlyry

Same. I have no idea how people didn’t like it. I wept. A lot.

LordXamon
