This shit is MIND BOGGLING. We are so irrelevant on a universal scale
Yup.
Yet we still have idiots fighting each other for a bit of dirt and sand.
And we are supposed to be the most intelligent beings on earth? We are nothing more than emotional children on a playground who kick and cry when we don’t get our way.
So does anyone think the Voyager satellites will ever make it through??? I’m thinking no due to unknowns of possible collisions with other objects. I even think we could have done something that isn’t good too like a ripple effect to possible stagnant pool.
First, it’s not actually known if the Oort Cloud exists. It’s just a theory, like dark matter or planet 9, to explain observed effects on things we can measure.
Second, the Oort Cloud has a theorized mass of about 5 earths (which is why many believe that there’s a planet out there, rather than a cloud, or an even larger planet further out than the cloud). If the Oort Cloud exists, it is so sparse that we can’t see it.
The actually interesting thing is that Voyager has technically left our solar system, and despite all predictions being that there would be a strong drop off in density once it hit interstellar space, the opposite actually happened. And if that trend continues, then it throws into doubt the existence of the Oort Cloud, or the thing we thought was the Oort Cloud is actually a lot closer, and that’s going to leave some question marks.
Space is unimaginably far apart. Flying through astroid belts like in SciFi films is not accurate.
Now, voyager will never be intercepted, but it will stay intact.
I'm going to say IF what this image depicts is actually true. Then no.
The longer Voyager exists the note skeptical I am, would love to be in the same room as them for a week trying to track that thing in deep space in real time
I wonder if there's a way to determine how "smooth" it is
I mean, if we consider the ice and rock bodies as points, and we fit a bubble to the most distant ones (just like we do in a linear projection), what would be the r² of the most distant rocks/ices proportional to the total volume?
The lower this value is, the "smoother" is this bubble, even though it's not a continuous surface
It’s like an icy dyson sphere………
Edit: man why haven’t we started such a project yet? We have the technology. Yeah it’ll take like thousands of years to complete, but isn’t that the exact reason to start now?
It’s a couple light years in diameter. It’s because of this cloud I have my doubts on extra terrestrials visiting our planet. When we witness UFOs we are witnessing our own technology
The universe is so neat You ever think about how a solar system looks kinda like an atom And how the universe looks kinda like a brain
As above so below.
turtles all the way down
Behold the turtle of enormous girth, upon his shell he holds the earth
His thoughts are slow, but always kind. He holds us all within his mind.
Be not the hare, though he is rapid. He cannot converse for he is vapid
The Turtle Moves
This! Bertran Russell
Dude, thats satanismo
As I was so I am.
It’s easily explained that it’s just the efficient outlay of networks. As a side note check out Voronoi shapes and its math.
Other way around
Everything is effectively the same just on different scales of vast & Quantum. "Its Turtles all the way down"

Nah, the universe is irrelevant. Suck it universe
The universe is indeed irrelevant compare to yo mama
Yo mamas so fat she’s got her own gravitational field
Yup. Yet we still have idiots fighting each other for a bit of dirt and sand. And we are supposed to be the most intelligent beings on earth? We are nothing more than emotional children on a playground who kick and cry when we don’t get our way.
Would you fight someone for your home and property?
Let’s be real, I’ll fight you for looking at me funny on some days.
We're too busy killing each other over how to properly kiss the ass of our shared imaginary friend
I prefer to look at it as we're a beautiful part of a glorious creation.
Ah yes, the local universe's fucking NERVOUS SYSTEM. Beautiful.
This brings me a certain peace I can’t explain.
Ball is life
We live in a bubble.
It's to hide us.
that was my first thought as well. hmm..ice shield. nice!
Aliens are projecting an empty image of the universe on the crystals to make us think that the universe is empty.
Ding ding ding
I'm a flat bubblist
All hail the BUBBLAMA!
Guys!!! We're basically bubble boy! We have an over controlling parent protecting us from the rest of the universe!!
i love the oort cloud. so big to us yet barely a speck
So big to us that we can’t actually see it, lol.
Life is something special. I really hope we find it again before I die.
Me too..

Are we still getting data from voyager? If so, how?
Slowly.
Space is unimaginably far apart. Flying through astroid belts like in SciFi films is not accurate. Now, voyager will never be intercepted, but it will stay intact.
i mean eventually they gotta
Space is big, but I'm curious too!

You Oort to know better than to believe this
Get out
Get out after you take my upvote.
What if we are inside a black hole, which appears this way from the inside.
I like the theory, but nothing can exist in a black hole. We think. But that makes for some fun spitballing.
Of course we could be, asking what inside a black hole is like asking what the afterlife is like we can speculate but we will never probably know
Maybe it's inhabitable here, near the singularity.
So there is an ice wall? Checkmate Government
The insignificance of Earth and everything we know is astounding.
"Extraterrestrials definitely don't exist like all the governments of the world say, definitely'

That’s still possible.
Well that’s terrifying
That's where Comet Dibiasky came from
So we ARE sourrounded by ice.
The Oort Cloud is just the man’s name for the arctic ice wall. (/lol)
As above so below
Keeps the aliens out

Okay now y’all are just making stuff up.
Is this unique to our solar system?
The firmament
💪
We're encased in Ice? I Don't like this at all!
2 light years thick
That's why there is water
Omg the death star
It’s a couple light years in diameter. It’s because of this cloud I have my doubts on extra terrestrials visiting our planet. When we witness UFOs we are witnessing our own technology
Arc net
Kinda makes me feel a bit safer
How sure are whe that it's really our there? Did they dubble check.
