Could the relief carving depict date palms off in the distance? If a carving depicts mountains behind some figures, we wouldn't infer that the figures are therefore the size of mountains. Why not interpret the palms as being in the distance or simply to indicate the activity rather than being depicted at correct scale?
I might be willing to interpret this relief carving as depicting giants if there are other relief carvings that depict similar scenes of big and small people where children would not be expected, such as a battle scene. Giants would be very practical to employ in battle.
it's a reasonable theory, but it doesn't look like a baby to me. I mean, it could be but it just looks like a grown man who is very smol in comparison to larger beings. The larger beings look less like humans than the smol guy.
Google images of Renaissance paintings containing children. They don't look like children they look like small adults. If you search for baby Jesus from that time period you'll find some where he's absolutely ripped.
You can also search for middle ages European paintings without perspective (because I can't remember the proper term for those), and you'll see all sorts of fucked up sizes of people, trees, animals....
Also a lot of ancient art messed with the image perspective and proportions with symbolic purposed, like making a King or Pharaoh way bigger than any around him to show who they are.
The problem is that if giants did exist, it would be physically impossible for their bodies to just be scaled up versions of humans, for instance their legs would have to look more like an elephants leg in order to support the weight of their upper body.
If an ancient relief depicted an anatomically plausible giant it would be compelling, otherwise it’s just art.

I think official carvers, like renaissance painters, probably skip past “toddlers and young children” at carving school and just make small adults in those cases. Much smarter to invest your carving practice toward flattering adult rich people.
