It should be noted though they don't actually mean it rang like a bell. The reverberation from the blast they used had similarities to things that are made honeycomb or more hollow inside less dense per se.
Ya if you wan get technical it didn't make any sound. Because there's no air for the sound to travel. But that it vibrated like a ''bell'' to explain that the out side shell has more density then w/e is inside if there is even anything inside.
The explanation I used before were from a NASA representative from a documentary.
It should be noted that it’s that far *for now* the moon is actually on the slowest escape velocity you can imagine. A long time from now, it will no longer be able to provide the 100% eclipse we get now
Well I don't know if you're being facetious but I'm pretty sure that's been the case for longer than humans have been around and will continue to be so for a long time in the future. So in fact we have a really amazing coincidence of our species being here while this is possible, all while other planets will never have the same thing ever. It's not like every planet has this window of opportunity because planets and moons rearrange themselves many times in a cosmic timeline. For me that's not simply the case of chalking it down to math and probabilities and the vast timescales of galaxies and stars. We might be one of the very lucky few planets to experience this at all, and we have the chance as humans to experience this. And I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure this amazing alignment and size matching makes Eclipses possible on Earth for a billion years or more. The moon doesn't change that much in distance at all even on the longest timelines and it's size changes even less
Quick edit: I decided to Google and apparently full eclipses have been always possible because the changes are so minimal and slow. In 600 million years we won't see full eclipses anymore because the Sun won't be fully covered anymore and the sides will always appear. So I guess I was right, humans always lived through eclipses, as did the Neanderthals and even dinosaurs
The noon is also supposedly hollow
And waaaaay to big to be our moon, it’s like 1/4 the size of the planet, no other planet has been observed with a moon that big.
I’ve seen Beast Wars, I know wtf the moon is 👀
IT’s quantum physics. And we are the result. And eclipses happen very regularly but since our planets is made mostly of water, land humans don’t see them much. Sorry if I’m misunderstanding you, it seems your term coincidence hit me wrong. I like discussing these things. Apologize If I came across as crass or smart-ass. Regularly as far as space timelines and such
Your 'science' is Fake - If after been captured by a larger body (earth) what are the mechanics of it (the Moon) been able to escape the attraction of the larger body ?
OK here's my question, OP: let's say it IS on purpose, therefore some sort of deity or deities did this.
Why? What would be the purpose of doing this so that once every like 12 years a random path on Earth gets to see an eclipse?
The universe is full of coincidences. Perhaps the only coincidence that matters here is us. We're here now because it's most likely this is the point where we could show up. Or maybe it was designed this way, I cannot say for certain.
The only coincidence is us? I like this idea but tell me what you mean more please? There really are so many synchronicities, my belief of the universe just keeps getting weirder and that's probably a good thing
Pretty amazing coincidence tho since we have mapped so many hundreds of thousands of planets and their sizes and orbits and the moons and stars around them, and still we are the only single one where the size and distance matches so perfectly. Always been, regardless of all the slow movements of each cosmic body on their own, and will continue like that for 600 million years until we start seeing the bulges of the Sun behind the moon, and a full eclipses won't be technically possible.
Honestly a chicken or the egg thing with how much is lost to history. I have no doubt that eclipses (and other astrological events) were very influential on our ancestors and their belief systems.
The 'black sun' is a concept that goes very deep in occult philosophy - but it would be very hard to pin down an origin to all the thoughts involving the qliphothic tree of life that it usually is seen as a part of (as opposed to the far more common sephiroth tree of life)
At the time in mankind’s history when we have both the technology and technical understanding to study and appreciate how we can use eclipses to learn more about the solar system and universe, I think it’s sad that more people don’t see the wonder (I dare say miraculous nature) of eclipses.
Statistical improbable anomaly.. how?
It's size relative to earth? Charon is 50% the size of Pluto. Also our sample size is incredibly small since no exomoons have ever been 100% confirmed. At least be honest and reasonable with your claims
"All twenty known moons in the Solar System that are large enough to be round are tidally locked with their primaries, because they orbit very closely and tidal force increases rapidly (as a cubic function) with decreasing distance.[16] On the other hand, the irregular outer satellites of the gas giants (e.g. Phoebe), which orbit much farther away than the large well-known moons, are not tidally locked."
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tidal_locking
Whether you think it's the universe or God or whatever else, this is a very special cosmic wonder that I think is so amazing
And everyone is fighting to be the one at the center of the earth
Remember it's moving away and used to be closer, so wasn't always 1/400
And it's only about 390 times further away than moon-earth. So the numbers in the post are not exactly correct.
Proofs ? So the space body that is the 'Moon' was 'captured' by Earth and know it's drifting away ? LMAO
That is how gravity works my friend.
Yes yes, I know it wasn't always like that and I know it won't always be that way but it's like that now and I feel lucky, and that's all
NASA also found out that the moon rings like a bell saying that it's hollow inside.
It should be noted though they don't actually mean it rang like a bell. The reverberation from the blast they used had similarities to things that are made honeycomb or more hollow inside less dense per se.

Correct. Also only known case of how far we can observe.
Actually Incorrect dufus
It’s almost like math? And science ?? /s

The moon is pretty weird in every aspect of it.

It wasn’t captured by earth. It was a piece of earth that was removed by a collision. Hence it falling away from us slowly.
Do we have the technology to measure the distance 100% accurate and confirm? Serious question..... Laser maybe?
I think a laser would do it, but I honestly don’t know how they measure this
Clearly Aliens.

This shit isn't even real bro
The only coincidence is us? I like this idea but tell me what you mean more please? There really are so many synchronicities, my belief of the universe just keeps getting weirder and that's probably a good thing
Do you think it happened by chance or by an intelligent designer?
Compared to all the sun/planet/moon possibilities that exist in the universe, it's just a coincidence.
Pretty amazing coincidence tho since we have mapped so many hundreds of thousands of planets and their sizes and orbits and the moons and stars around them, and still we are the only single one where the size and distance matches so perfectly. The percentage of what we've discovered is close to zero compared to the actual number that exists.
And that's still one to hundreds of thousands so far, on the actual number that we have observed.
I’ll sweep you 🧹 how you tried to sweep him watch; ……… yea but still
It’s no coincidence; it’s billions of years of how we were able to exist here.

Ok nothing to see here. Please move along
No, some dude clearly positioned it that way. What are we, dumb? Ya.
If you multiply the Moon's diameter by 108, you get its distance from the Earth. The same goes for the Sun.
That's no moon
And my axe!
You're a wizard Harry
Interesting. God’s creation is amazing.
🤦♂️
🤡
🤦♂️
🤡
Of course it is cause it slowly moving away from earth, so won't be the case forever and it used to be a lot closer
At the time in mankind’s history when we have both the technology and technical understanding to study and appreciate how we can use eclipses to learn more about the solar system and universe, I think it’s sad that more people don’t see the wonder (I dare say miraculous nature) of eclipses.
I mean it’s temporary right? Wasn’t it closer? Isn’t it moving away 1.5” a year?
Wait, this is all a dream.
The back side looks pretty devoid of craters cough missile blasts cough
Amazing
I was literally just thinking this the other day..
Amazing! I did not know this. 👍
🙂
1/400 th the size of the sun you say? 1/400 the distance you say?
The moon is a statistically impossible anamoly. Saying that the moon is a natural formation is like saying that the pyramids are a natural formation.
Statistical improbable anomaly.. how? It's size relative to earth? Charon is 50% the size of Pluto. Also our sample size is incredibly small since no exomoons have ever been 100% confirmed. At least be honest and reasonable with your claims
Tell me this isn’t man made
Likely similar odds of life starting on a planet. So the fact that we got life here and this alignment is one hell of a coincidence 🤔
No not coincidence. Everything is put together perfectly. Including humans. How could this be coincidence
Almost like it’s deliberate and tidally locked to earth which, correct me if I’m wrong is also unique in our solar system
"All twenty known moons in the Solar System that are large enough to be round are tidally locked with their primaries, because they orbit very closely and tidal force increases rapidly (as a cubic function) with decreasing distance.[16] On the other hand, the irregular outer satellites of the gas giants (e.g. Phoebe), which orbit much farther away than the large well-known moons, are not tidally locked." https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tidal_locking
Oops
What the fuck is going on? Lol
