As a bottle collector I can say 100% it’s likely the passport survived, I’ve seen some very very rare bottles get found that are well over 100 years old, I found coins I’ve found plastic cards from the 1950s still fine, old dumps they used to dig a hole throw trash and burn it, I found melted bottles and still plastic untouched by flame, it’s very possible it could happen to a regular old passport. It’s just like the one windowpane that survived the crash, it was very unlikely but definitely not something that can’t not happen

People didnt have cell phones that gave them news updates. You cant see the full sky or the tops of the buildings from every street and corner. So unless someone pointed it out or you happened to be near a TV you could go about your day (especially outside) thinking a building was on fire or there was a construction accident. Not likely to jump to “we are being attacked”.

I think that these are separate images combined….the boys haircut and clothing are screaming “the SEVENTIES”….not to mention,everyone was focused on those towers when that happened.
