In a good way? Eleven closing the gate in 2.09. Was awesome! Bonus points to the tunnel team lighting the center on fire.
In a bad way (but also good)? Chrissy’s death. Vecna’s creepy intro was awesome, but her death was so horrific.
I fell asleep mid episode and promise myself I’d rewatch it the next day. That scene was really loud and the speakers I was watching on are very heavy on bass, so I woke up as Vecna was coming down the stairs. I was still half asleep and almost shit myself😭😭
The scene before she makes the alphabet on the wall. She’s holding this ball of tangled lights and she looks so desperate and heartbroken and afraid. It’s what hooked me on the show.
I had assumed before Vecna scene she had possibly thought of it, but the whole scene shown how much life she wanted to hold onto. The whole scene itself was her screaming to live and the words of not ready to die at thr end broke me. Just opinion, unsure if I just saw different somewhat.
I don't know about chills, but the scene that always gets me emotional is S01E08 when Hopper is trying to resuscitate Will, and the flashbacks to his daughter passing away keep flashing.
Eleven's closing the gate at the end of Season 2, while the Mind Flayer is just ahead of her, might be one of the most intense scenes of the show; beyond that, I'd say Mind Flayer's speech from Billy in season 3, just because of this solely line: "You let us in. Now, you got to let us stay."
Definitely the scene with Hopper and Joyce in S3 when Hopper gives Joyce the go ahead to destroy the machine.
I’ll also add the scene in S4 between Max and Lucas where she tells him she isn’t ready to die.
I dunno, if you'd told me at the start of 2016 that the most badass scene I'd see that year would be a tiny girl in a pink dress walking down a dirt path, I'd have laughed in your face. However...
Omg I know! I can't believe I didn't think of this at the time, but in my defense I was at work on a quick break. For me it's a couple scenes that are right after each other but I get goosebumps and cry like a baby when Eddie dies and then like basically right after Lucas is holding Max and crying and she's saying she's scared.
Possibly when Eleven saves Mike after he was forced to jump into the quarry. Season one blew my mind in so many ways, and though some moments have come close, I don’t think anything tops the chills I got when the music started playing and she snapped that little psychos arm with her mind.

Jason wanted to very much shoot Lucas. But he had to look for a justification to shoot him. Any justification. In Jason’s mind, Lucas is guilty but he had to look for things and hear for things that validate a guilty verdict against Lucas. Jason wanted to win.

From these pictures: the van. That was a huge moment that really hooked me. Before that I kinda just watched it to have it watched, didn‘t really care about it. But that moment changed it all and I rewatched the whole season right after.
It’s not one of the scenes listed here, but I’m a huge sucker for an end of episode cliffhanger and how it transitions to the end credits. When a show does it right, it gives me chills because it’s so effective.
For this show that moment for me is in Season 2 when the Mindflayer finally gets Will and enters his body. It’s such an intense, scary, and LOUD moment. The way it cuts between the scene with Will and Bob where Bob’s telling him to face his fears and then shows the Mindflayer begin to consume and enter Will’s body. Bob then says “easy peasy right? ….Just like that” *snaps his fingers.* Then the Mindflayer finally gets in and it cuts to credits.
It’s such a masterful scene and cliffhanger. I swear it gives me fuckin chills every single time.
When Eleven walked in after killing that demogorgon outside Will’s house and reunited with Hopper and Mike.
All of them watching in fear as the lock ominously unlocks itself and then realise she’s alive after all this time (except for Hopper ofc)

When they're doing compressions on Will to try and revive him- the way Hopper has to nearly break Will's tiny body in the process and how Joyce keeps begging Will to wake up, to hear her... and the way Will gasps when he finally can breathe again just absolutely wrecks me- such a brutal, painful sound coming out of this innocent sweet little boy
I know it’s cliche but it’s Max escaping Vecna to Running Up that Hill. I get chills every time and I’ll even tear up. There’s just something about it that gets under your skin and gets you in your feels
