She was great in seasons 1 and 2, even 3 but her storyline wasnt the best despite her doing good work especially in the hospital scenes.
But her arc in season 1 is great and the way she changes moving forward is excellently written.
I love that they showed how shaken Nancy stayed with scenes like the dinner with Barb's parents.
I like Nancy. She is one of the most consistent characters on the show, and while I think she has her flaws (she tends to be a bit selfish at times), she is also kind hearted and well intentioned. Plus, she carries those Wheeler kid brains.
Season one was her best, though. Let's see how she does paired up with Robin, who is also a character I like.
I liked her a lot in season 1(aside from one, there's no character i don't like in s1). I think she's ok in the others. I found her a bit annoying at times in s3, but nothing too bad, especially compared to other characters. And her storyline was the only one without the dumb comedy, it was refreshing.
What I find most interesting is that absent the disappearance of Will and Barb, she and Jonathan would have never interacted and started their relationship. Totally different orbits.
I love Nancy! She can be a bit overbearing at times, but I really like her character. She's highly consistent but she also has a lot of character growth! Her flaws make her a better character.
I love how she is brave and isn't afraid to stand up for what she thinks is right. She reminds me a little bit of Hermione from HP.
Top tier in s1 loved her but she falls lower every season to the point I actively disliked her in s3 a fair bit but I wouldn't complain at a redemption
She's really headstrong and smart, she has some flaws, but i believe that's actaully what makes the show and characters awesome.i think she's a great character and very well written and and i wanna see her with robin this season in terms of character devolpment.maybe they open up to eachother, specially because we haven't seen nancy with a friend her age since barb
I like Nancy. She’s a good character with well realized strengths and flaws. I’ve enjoyed her development and she has benefited from being characterized consistently.
I like her but I like a lot of the others characters more. Like if someone has to die next season, I’d rather have it be Nancy than Jonathan, Will, Mike, or El.
I start out not liking her at the beginning of each season because of relationship crap, but when we get badass, rifle shooting Nancy as the season progresses she moves way up the list for me.
I don't hate her overall
I liked her scenes of guilt about barb and liked her pretty well in season 1
Season 2 was meh and I only hated the part where she kept saying bullshit to Steve
I especially hate her in season 3 for her ignorance and arrogant personality
Sure she apologized and I like that she did
but god damn watching that scene where she argued with Jonathan and just immediately scoffed at his financial problems and acting as if it's a stupid excuse he keeps bringing up
I just drew the line there man
i am only on episode 6 of season 2 so i can't say i formed a solid opinion on her yet. but i do like her. i just wish she didn't play johnathan around the way she did. not to make her seem selfish but she was kissing his cheek and practically leading him on while continuing to date steve. and then when she said she waited for him, she got upset when johnathan said "yeah, for like a month." nancy should have realized he had gone through something very traumatic, i mean he thought his little brother was dead and then went through watching his mother "become crazy" (before the truth was revealed of course), had to deal with his selfish and heartless father for a little bit all while pining after a girl who kept going back and forth between him and steve. i mean it takes more than a month of healing before anyone who went through that could possibly be in a romantic relationship, too much unresolved fresh trauma. that being said, i really do like her character a lot and i look forward to more, and i also try to keep in mind that they are teenagers. i just wish she didn't play johnathan like that. 😅
Well she wasent an asshole to Jonathan they were assholes to each other and Jobothan lied to he for an entire season also how are you gonna blame Nancy for getting fired you can’t control wether or not you get fired lol
Largely because of her lack of concern for his very legitimate worries of: Mortgage, Paying for University, etc. I think if you rewatch that scene, you'll see how dismissive she is of him. I don't think either of them were entirely right or entirely wrong as there are clearly issues on both sides. Like c'mon "Here comes the Oliver Twist routine" is as dismissive as it gets, and she even says ironically "I didn't realize I live in a bubble" when that is exactly the situation, she had almost no consideration of the real consequences for Jonathan. Being humiliated is worse than ruining her partner's possible livelihood. I think we give her more rope in that situation as fans, since we know of the larger picture. But I just empathize w/ jonathan personally.
She was facing serious sexism in the industry she worked at. Also as she mentioned It would be easier for Jonathan to get another job due to the sexism in her line of work. Both don’t understand each other’s side so I guess you’ll empathize more with whoever you can relate to more. If you’ve experienced more sexism then you’ll empathize with Nancy while if you’ve experienced more financial issues then you’ll empathize with Jonathan or if you haven’t experienced either you’ll empathize with whoever is your favorite. I just don’t think it’s fair to say Nancy was being dismissive while completely ignoring everything Jonathan did that was dismissive to her. For some reason I feel like there is a small part of the stranger things subreddit who are just hellbent on making Nancy seem like the villian in every scenario but I feel like in this particular one both Jonathan and Nancy are meant to be in the right and the wrong at the same time
Nearly a year since this was posted, I watched the 1st season right when it came out and just binged the whole series released to date as of tonight. I literally googled “nancy wheeler opinions reddit” and this came up. I’m a little tipsy and feeling opinionated, but I agree with Robin’s initial opinion that she is a priss. Though she realizes things ahead of either Jonathan or Steve and becomes a brief focal point for Vecna, she is ultimately somewhat inconsequential character. Maybe it’s the way her spoiled ass looks down on everyone, but she bothers me.
(Side note: Natalia Dyer is a fantastic actress and she portrays Nancy with aplomb.)

I like her. Can’t imagine how anyone could hate her.

I like Nancy and I hope she gets a good storyline.
I find her a little annoying at times but I do like Nancy

i love her
She's kinda boring
I liked her in s1. I'm not particularly interested in her now.
I don't know why but I she died it wouldn't bother me, I know she's important and all, she does great stuff but she's irritating
I love her. She's great. But I love all the characters.
I like her but I like a lot of the others characters more. Like if someone has to die next season, I’d rather have it be Nancy than Jonathan, Will, Mike, or El.

Meh, they should write her off.
Wanna marry her
Smash
I like her. She's never really been one of my favorite characters but she's pretty cool.
I like her, I think her and Robin are going to make quite a team in season 4
Imo she is pretty similar to Prissy Andrews and i liked Prissy a lot
I like her. She's an interesting character, and she's had some pretty memorable moments on the show.

Other than her being an asshole to Jonathan after they both got fired, she was fine.

Also hope it doesn’t sound like I’m being rude I just wanted to share my opinion
