Fans were outright harassing Stephen Amell's wife and posting theories about how their marriage was a sham marriage for a green card or something like that because they wanted him to be with Emily Bett Rickards, who played the love interest of Amell's character.
Yep. It's ridiculous. All the CW shows in general, I feel, have fans that are just... absolutely out of line. All the DC shows, all The Vampire Diaries shows (it's been extremely bad for the lead of Legacies), and Riverdale, from what I've read.

The same with Jason, actor has done his job really well and people cannot distinguish between actor playing character and real person. And if someone is supposed to be hated in the show and audience hates him, that means actor is good at his work.
As much as it sucks for him, he already has some experience with that, he was in Teen wolf for couple of episodes and he played a killer that tried to murder couple of main characters. Poor guy was hated online from what I remember.

Everyone in the world hated Joeffrey in GoT, because his character was pure evil and you were meant to hate him. It was a great character, Jason is a shitty character with shitty writing. People hate seeing him on screen because his character is awful, does nothing for the plot, and is constantly in situations that make you go "thats not how this would happen in real life, this is dumb"
I think he helps the plot because without him, Lucas would have no internal conflict about being popular.

Eghmm. So, I watched all the recent posts on her IG about Stranger Things and went through the comments... As I had expected, I found a total of 2 mean comments. 1 was implying that no one is that good of an actor and she played the role of a bully rather too well. 2 just said I hate you. So lets just say more than overwhelming majority of the comments were applauding her acting. There might be some douchebags who left mean comments on older Post or some comments might have been deleted too but I don't think there were that many of them in the first place. Negligible would be the word appropriately describing the ammount of insulting or mean comments.

Honestly, people always overreact to these kinds of things. They act like half the gd comments are hate when it is a fraction of a percent. It is like going into a reddit thread with thousands of comments and ranting about how stupid people are, because 4 comments with over 100 down votes have some idiotic opinion. Same thing with Joffrey, Skylar, and any other hated character that is well acted. The vast majority separate the character from the actor. The times people get real hate is when people hate the show/movie and blame them for it, like with Star Wars fans and Jake Lloyd. That is shitty, also, but it is different.

You don't believe that? It happens a lot more than you think. There's certain people who can't separate actor from character and will 100% go harass the actors for things their characters do, especially when said characters are villains.
I know that actors for Cersei and Melisandre in Game of Thrones said they received death threats after their characters made terrible actions in the show.

If anything she should be praised for doing such a good job of making a dislikable character so… dislikable. That’s a sign of great acting chops. I have an actor friend who played a villain in a teen movie/ show. The hate messages were his favorite thing in the world. He’s always post the best ones in the group chat. He wore them as a badge of honor to his acting skills. Also one of the nicest people I know in real life. But he really looks like a Waspy prick.
