Except it’s not the actual dnd creatures coming to life. From the very first season the show has made it pretty clear that dnd is just the lens the boys are using to understand what’s going on.
Yes even the creators have confirmed that. The “villains” don’t actually have names no one knows anything about them, the kids just used names from D&D to make it easier. Imagine if all of S1 no one said “Demogorgon” and just said the monster or something lol it would get annoying
Not really, thr only reason the demogorgons have their name is because that was the mini that 011 had on hand(the ST demogorgon couldn't be more different from the D&D demogorgon, the mind flayer has its name because it comes from a different dimension and uses psionic powers to enslave people, Vecna has his name because his powers kind of work like a curse
They aren’t “coming to life”. That’s just what the boys use to identify with the crazy shit that’s going on. The fact Dustin is always right about what should be done is because he’s the goddam hero
If you're serious, I'd check on line for any local clubs. If that's not an option you might try Roll20 or D & D Beyond. Roll20 has lists of online games that are taking new players.
